Visiting my mother-in-law, my wife was drooling for a Reuben sandwich at Corky & Lenny's. They have excellent deli food served with professional bustle. All in all, an excellent place with ample proportions. My Nova platter was totally satisfying.Thank you for your visit! Just found out they are expanding to Cedar Point, the roller coaster Capitol of the world!! I have been to a couple different locations of this local phenomenon restaurant. They are all different but the menus are pretty close to the same, they are all great. I have seen some of the great meals they put on in the other reviews here, but have not seen the best sandwich they produce. My favorite is the Monti Cristo, It is sooo good and have tried it at a couple of the different locations and it is always great!! They pile on everything they do and is always hard to eat it all, but just because it is so good you try. This place is also very cheap for the size meal you get. The new one at the point promises to be a great addition.

Fist note: We did not buy anything because the place seemed dark and not very clean. There were plenty of beautiful cakes and cookies to choose from, though. They also offer pasta and sauces to buy. Just wasn't comfortable buying anything given the overall feel of the bakery. There were bakery servers ready to help and answer questions.

crostatas rustic pizza

Reviewed By Maliesmom - Cleveland OH

I was recuperating from a bout of illness with limited energy and rather than attempt cooking for my parents, opted to get take out as a Chanukah gift. Latkes, ravioli...it's all carbs!
The ravioli here are HUGE. The order taker said SHE could eat four...knowing our appetites were small, I settled on 3 for each of us...and there were 3 in the small order, 6 in a regular....so I ordered one of each advising that they could ALL be put in one container. Also ordered a salad and some "crostatas".

The ravioli came home packed in two boxes, and the amount of sauce in one was negligible. The elders had more than enough with two a piece, never finished the leftovers and they went down the drain, very sad as they were delicious and clearly homemade. I'm hard pressed to figure out what exactly was different about the crostatas than the breadsticks that come with soup and salad....

On average the meal was $10 a person or so.

I've decided after this visit to give up on the wedding soup. There is way too much white pepper or something in there and I don't enjoy it or the large pieces of greens floating around. Others might.

Sanctuary on Green

Reviewed By Maliesmom - Cleveland OH

It's been a couple years or so since I discovered and began to regularly patronize this little gem with a friend or others. You cannot beat it for a lovely, peaceful environment, and a real getaway from the speed of everyday life and stresses. Sitting amongst the trees, below umbrellas on the terrace, even on a hot day you can be tempted to order one of the hot soup selections. No one is rushed and the service is both leisurely and attentive.
Food is plated and served with attention to detail; plates and cutlery are immaculate. The food clearly made from scratch. Often if there is a special of the day, it can sell out by the second service, so those in the know will go early and reserve their dessert when placing their entree order, especially the strudel (no cheese).
Over time, like so many places, the prices have crept upward. A cup or glass of tea (approx 4.50 minimum) from the massive menu, an entree (most about $15), and a dessert if you can't resist ($7 or so up), + tax and a gratuity will take you into the $35 range. But remember how delicious it is, that your are supporting a local business and not a conglomerate, getting homemade clean food in an enchanting environment and keep it in perspective. It remains cheaper than therapy:-)
That said, reviews are not helpful if not honest. So I must say that today I took note of a couple things related to the menu. If they were there before, I hadn't noticed. First was a sticker on the front about how it was property of the restaurant and not to be removed. Okay, I get it...and maybe someone did take one...but it is rather off-putting to have that intrude into the peaceful attitude of the place right off the start. Much of the menu was on line at the website, one could take a picture with a phone if they were so inclined...so what's the point of taking one? I'd think it would be worth a menu taken rather than implying your guests might dare to steal one and that you shouldn't even go there/think about it.
But the back page...ah, that is where things took a really sharp turn. Let's face it...many people are so poorly raised/behaved and ignorant, brought up on a diet of chain restaurants who want to bow down and kiss their feet for fear of losing their business, that they expect the same treatment wherever they go. And some people, we know, would be ever so happy to have the slightest inspiration to file a lawsuit. We get it.
But to be present in a peaceful setting, to be greeted and escorted to a table with a sincere welcome and graciousness, and then be slapped with a page of policies/procedures etc. just doesn't sit as comfortably as sitting at one of the umbrella covered tables.
There were so many issues addressed, it is even hard to recall them all. They were discussed even before a description of how the food was prepared and other good aspects of the experience, such as how much of the produce is locally sourced, some is grown in the Koehn's own garden where compost is added from their own home and the enterprise, down to tea bags...; how the water is filtered etc. Could someone have dared to file a lawsuit? Did an attorney who was a risk management specialist interfere? You will be advised, before the high points, about the obvious reality: you're eating outside among the trees. Bugs may show up, some may touch your food, you might get a bite or stung. You're responsible for your own issues, allergies, epi-pen supplies and the staff is not...not to provide or administer one...and further, it's a small place...so if you don't like something, the most you'll get is an apology...no replacements, no breaks on your bill (so it sounds)...like a warning, so you won't even bother wasting energy to attempt that. Of course some people are stupid and need to be warned...but let's hope the majority are civil and mature enough to not need the pageful of reminders. It darkens an otherwise sunny day to see all that, and one begins to feel the next step will be to have patrons sign a release form before being seated, especially outside. This really sucks the joy right out of the experience...and quite a few minutes to read. You have to wonder how many even bother, especially being on the back side/last page of the menu.
Also mentioned is that pets are not allowed on the property. Yes, you are in Cleveland, not Europe. No mention of those dogs serving those with disabilities, but since it is made clear that this is a private home, they may not have to make accommodations...you might want to ask if you are concerned.
Shove all that aside and enjoy your meal and a respite from the rest of the world for a couple hours.
Note: The soup offerings today for the first time did not appeal to me (Carrot Ginger, Asparagus, cold Green Goddess or Gazpacho). The Green Goddess is outstanding, but I had some similar at home. I opted to try the Veganist, tofu schnitzel served with salad in addition to bread and butter and a side of sauerkraut. Here the kraut is cooked and creamy, and on the platter will make anything with a nice topping mush. I requested it in a small side dish instead, which is how itwas served. When I asked to take the half of the schnitzel I left home, along with the bread, it was no problem, and presented in a nice biodegradable clamshell box inside a bright green bag. On arriving home I found the sauerkraut had also been put in the box, making the tofu a mess. Considering the price (approx $15) and my hope to enjoy the leftovers, I was pretty disappointed. Lesson learned.
All that said, I have every intention to return for as long as they are open for the season. Be aware (which wasn't on the back page of the menu) that there are two seatings, as of this writing, on Friday and Saturday only, one at 11:30 AM and another at 1:30 PM only until early October. Don't be late because others in your party will not be seated until you are all there. Indoor seating is also available. While you can use a credit card to pay for your meal, tips are cash only, and go in the jar at the register which is inside and up a small flight of steps from the terrace area. This will take you into the main home where there is a gift shop with all sorts of interesting finds from jewelry to decorative home goods. Today we discovered a couple displays of very attractive reading glasses.

My friend and I️ could not stop thinking about the sautéed calamari appetizer from our first visit! She commented on the filet being excellent and I had to get the sautéed seafood entrée for the second time! We found the staff friendly and the atmosphere unique and clean. I want to bring a group of friends for dinner sometime after the holidays as they have a party room separated from the main restaurant. Both of our visits to this establishment have been excellent and consistent! I cannot wait for next time!
