Visiting Souris for the day and was told eat @ Shirley's .... best place for fish and chips. Located near the wharf, Initially excited to try given the rave review we heard from a local resident, Ordered the seafood sampler that included haddock, calamari and scallops, complete with dinner roll, coleslaw and fries. Huge serving but taste and flavour were disappointing; believe all items fried in the same oil. Yuk!!! Roll was stale. Take-out only, Limited tables/chairs on site. Busy enough with locals stopping by and getting ice cream, Won't be back, that's for sure,

Good service, but rather disappointed in the quality of the meals. Burger not above fast food level on a tasteless bun.

FireWorks is both the name of our restaurant and the 25 foot brick-lined, wood-burning, fire-breathing beast from where we prepare and present our Feast, every night. It features every form of live-fire cooking known to man including a smokehouse, open hearth, grill, rotisserie, plancha and oven. No dials, no switches just old-school/Farmhouse cooking. It's a dream come true for us and our chefs' brigade is proud to share the Inn's wide variety of flavours with you! Proprietors Chef Michael Smith and his wife Chastity Smith are proud to welcome you to their end of the island. For Michael, coming back to the Inn is a return to his roots as a chef. For seven years in the 1990’s, he manned the stoves here, finding his culinary voice and bringing international fame to a sleepy country inn. For Chastity, being an innkeeper allows her to share her Maritime roots, stylish design flair and love of entertaining with you and your family. Together they’ve graciously re-launched the Inn with a brand new spirit of hospitality and their shared goal of becoming one of the world’s leading culinary tourism destinations. Michael is a Canadian superstar chef with an international reputation for simple, sustainable home cooking. He is the author of 10 cookbooks and has starred in 5 different Food Network series. Michael's cooking shows are seen in more than 100 different countries around the world.
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was a wonderful and memorable experience! We enjoyed strolling through the property before dinner, taking in the organic farm and fragrant flower and herb garden - from which many items appeared on our plates during the feast!
The staff was beyond excellent - especially Chef Cody and Cara Taylor, but everyone was so friendly and only too happy to share their love of cooking and the farm to table concept. They are eager to have guests involved and ensure a unique guest experience.
The evening began with the famous Oyster Hour, as well as three other appetizer stations offering chicken tacos, sustainable blue smoked salmon on crackers, and house made sausage. Then, all the guests gathered outside for a nice toast just prior to heading inside. The sit-down portion of the Feast is served family style, and while we initially were a bit apprehensive about this, it was a great experience and only added to our enjoyment of the evening!
The menu included freshly baked wood-oven bread (and whipped maple butter), incredible local seafood chowder, the Blue Fin Tuna Duo (WOW!), outstanding organic salad, smokehouse brisket and wood roasted steak with tons of farm fresh potatoes and vegetables. The service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. My husband had advised at the time of booking that I don't eat red meat or pork, and this was a non-issue during the main course as they brought me a wonderful halibut substitution for the beef course. The dessert course was just as incredible with maple cinnamon ice cream and blueberry and poached pear panna cotta. The evening concluded with a large bonfire where we were invited to relax and roast some house made marshmallows with our new friends.
This dining experience is quite amazing, especially when you consider that it is all prepared using just old-school live-fire cooking - including a smokehouse, open hearth, grill, rotisserie, plancha and wood oven.
It was an incredible evening - we enjoyed every aspect, and being invited to be part of it, and the food was outstanding!

Our first stop in to check out the bakery as a possible breakfast spot for the following had us leaving with great, soft and chewy ginger cookies, yummy brownies and a half dozen fresh dinner rolls ... all excellent.
We discovered the Bakery was open nice and early and the coffee would be on.
We stopped in for a delicious freshly prepared breakfast egg, sausage and cheese Sandwich and coffee in the morning.
A great early morning find.

Lobster roll had good chunks of lobster and served with Lay's chips and delicious sweet pickles. Bread was buttery, soft and crispy at the same time...the way lobster roll bread should be. Not the absolute best lobster roll I had BUT Lobster Shack's was still very, very delicious. Reasonably priced, good Seating area outside. Thinking of coming back to order some lobsters to send back home!

I loved the burger topping options! Pickles, jalapeños, pineapple. Delicious! Food was good, standard options for a pub/family diner. The food came quickly and the portions were good. It took a little long to get our bill once we were done. Overall a good choice for families. Kids meals were inexpensive ($5.99), and large portions.
