Was referred here by a local waitress. Just 10 minutes north of Crescent City. Not fancy. Service was very friendly. We had the pot stickers and PanThai. The pot stickers were very good with a little crisp on them. PanThai was also very good. Local beers available .

i've always liked ice cream. growing up in san francisco, we had a couple most excellent ice cream shops. now as an adult i still enjoy ice cream. i don't keep it at home, but rather love having it out. slugs 'n stones is THE place to go for ice cream. they serve umpqua, which is lusciously delicious, they are friendly, and it's lovely sitting outside at one of the benches at the harbor, enjoying the scrumptious flavors.

The atmosphere was charming. The location right next to the theater couldn't have been better. The food was excellent. The cream of spinach soup was yummy. The bread servings were huge. My husband's chicken Pica-ta dish was excellent. He seldom eats everything but he totally cleaned his plate, as did I. But. There is a But. I personally do not like balsamic vinegar, and all the salads except the spinach salad had balsamic dressing, so I didn't have a salad. There was no other choice of dressing. When I got my squash ravioli with mushrooms, there was a prominent drizzle of balsamic vinegar all over it, and the menu didn't say that or I would not have ordered it. The server was outstanding and had them redo it for me, and it happened exceptionally fast. The servers all work as a team which I found delightful. The place was packed when we arrived so we sat at the bar. As soon as a table became available, they cleaned it quickly and moved us. We would definitely eat there again. I will just remember to tell them that even though they love balsamic vinegar, I do not so I don't want a hint of it on any of my food. Note: They did give us butter for our bread.

Alta had been making breakfast and lunch for local farmers and fishermen long before we showed up in the area. Portions are large, everything is fresh and Alta, herself, is a real treat. Space is limited and the place can get full pretty quickly around lunchtime. I love her bacon-cheese burgers.

We approached restaurant from back side (or was it front?), took some stairs down to dining area. Greeted warmly. Being attached to an art gallery, paintings adorned the walls of a dark interior. Spot lights shone on tables and artwork. Wife had a rack of lamb. “Cooked to perfection,” said she. My halibut was delicious. They offer both soup & salad, rare these days. I had chowder & salad. Pinot grigio ($6 a glass) accompanied my fish. Man on keyboard entertained. Our waitress was busy, handling all tables. Good service. Total bill was $71, plus tip. Intimate seating, but limited size. Recommend reservation.

Classic american menu.
When hubby and I visit family in Brookings, we drive over for the specials. Prime rib special on Monday was flavorful and cooked perfectly, veggies were crisp and flavorful, salad choices are varied and fresh and they don't mind handing out a few extra horseradish with sour cream sauce if asked. Dessert was good but hubby and I passed. We enjoy the comfortable seating and relaxed atmosphere. Plan to spend extra time as the staff is friendly but never enough to go around. Get yourself a players card and earn free gambling money. We will return for specials every time we visit.

We ate here with a group of 10 for an early dinner. They handled it perfectly. The food is very good and we had a wide variety of items at the table. There is a coconut seafood special that is served in a young coconut that is something else! The prices are very reasonable. It is great too that they have brown rice or jasmine rice.

Yes, yes, yes! A true Mexican food experience for those residing in this beautiful rugged yet isolated coastal area, or if travelling Hwy 101 near the California / Oregon border. They offer an extensive variety of authentic and unique Mexican Lunch and Dinner fare. Food may be eaten as sit down, although seating is limited, or as "To Go". We have not been disappointed with any selection yet.
They offer a wide choice of meat/seafood types, yet still offer vegetarian alternatives, and provide a self service Salsa Bar that cannot be beat, which completes the meal experience. Their Winter hours are from 11AM to 7PM which expanding during Summer months to 10PM. Call ahead for more information ...707-487-0881. The Taqueria is located adjacent to the La Joya Mexican Market.

Enjoy dinner with the family daily until 9pm, come back for late night (21+ after 9pm- never close before 11) for a snack, libation and live music! Friday & Saturday we open at 11am for lunch. Pool table and shuffleboard available as well!
Stopped in for the first time with friends, and didn't know what to expect. We were delighted with the $2 margaritas, and $4 happy hour snacks. Not what we were expecting in Brookings, Oregon. The food was something you would find in the Bay Area. Tempera devilled eggs, deep fried pickles, Asian wings, and pork sliders. For dessert mama's balls. Wow! Rice crippies with peanut butter dipped in chocolate, about the size of a golf ball. Yum! Nothing we had wasn't delish!

I was so surprised at the food being so awesome! From the outside Perlita's looks like a little hole in the wall place. Inside is small and at first doesn't seem comfortable. The service and food are absolutely fabulous! The prices are low and very fair. I definitely reccomend this place
