Fantastic desserts and cookies. I had Mike make a sheet cake for 80-person get-together and it was the hit of the party.....literally melted in my mouth. Bread is above and beyond any in area. The homemade stretch bread with Cheeky Monkey Tomato Garlic Dipping Oil available on site is simply amazing!

Rosalie's Cucina was built in authentic Tuscan style, designed by Philip Romano, and is owner operated today. Rosalie's kitchen is in the capable hands of culinary trained chefs, led by Executive Chef/Managing Partner Marc Albino. We wish to express our gratitude to everyone whose support has contributed to Rosalie's success. We will continue to do our best to keep Rosalie's Cucina as she would have it, full of hearty food, great wine and most importantly--smiling faces.
We dined on a weekday evening during the busy tourist season. You need a reservation. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming. There is plenty of local history and accompanying pictures to enjoy. The meal is one of the finest you could have in central New York. Service was attentive and top notch start to finish. The bread is baked fresh on site daily. Four different entrees proved to be artistic and delectable. This is food to savor. Come to linger and appreciate all the warmth and hospitality Rosalie’s has to offer.

A delightful change of pace for a special luncheon occasion or just to enjoy something different. In addition to the special tea you are served 6 or 7 small courses but enough to fill you up. The house is small so you must make a reservation. Check this website at: grammiespantry.com. It is a bit pricey but you won't be disappointed. Phone 315-636-8111
Tea at Grammie's Pantry is different from traditional English afternoon tea (scones w/ clotted cream and jam, tea sandwiches, and pastries). It is "high tea," more of a meal. We started with a fruit cup and cheese spread and crackers, then had scones, which were chocolate chip. (I generally prefer my scones plain but these were as light and delicious as any I have ever had.) Then we had outstanding potato-leek soup and a tiny salad. This was followed by two open-faced tea sandwiches (one cucumber and one turkey), which were delicious. Then came a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and homemade caramel sauce. The cake was very, very good but extremely rich so I couldn't eat it all. Two types of tea were served. I would have liked to have had a choice of tea but the two our hostess selected were delicious. Sue, our hostess and the cook and baker, was delightful. Her husband washes the dishes. The table was lovely--a centerpiece with red roses and fine antique China, silver, glassware, and linens. The shop carries teas, jellies and other foods, as well as tea cups, tea pots, and antique linens and glassware. Cost was $30 (including tax) and tip was left to each person (there were 6 of us). Grammie's takes MasterCard and Visa. You must call ahead for reservations (at least 48 hours) as the place is out in the country and everything is prepared for the number of people with reservations. It's a small place (downstairs of a rustic 200-year old building) filled with breakable antiques and a large wood stove so it is not suitable for children (age limit is 12). This is, literally, a mom & pop operation and, if you are expecting the Ritz Hotel, you will be disappointed. But if you want a delicious meal in a lovely setting with a fine table setting, this is the place! And let me repeat: the scones are OUTSTANDING!

We stopped in here after seeing a line up and I ended up getting a donut and cappuccino. The donut was light and airy, the coffee was delicious. This is mostly a take out place but there are quite a few tables. I returned on subsequent visits for more donuts and treats. My husband and I also ate breakfast here...we both enjoyed it very much. I had the oatmeal...you can have cranberries, brown sugar etc.on it. My husband had a hot egg and bacon sandwich. They offer a variety of sandwiches, pastries, smoothies throughout the day. It gets busy at times, but you never have to wait very long...it's truly a little gem.

Small plates, craft pizza
I found the items on the menu to be quite unique; whoever designed the menu items very obviously put thought into the dishes. I especially liked the "small plates" option; we weren't super hungry but did want a small bite to eat to tide us over, so we enjoyed the arancini (3 rice balls in tomato sauce) for me and fries (for my husband). Very reasonably priced and located across from the lake. The kids each had pizza and everything tasted delicious and fresh. Very happy with this place.

We stopped into the store to give it a second chance following our bad experience over the Christmas holidays. The candies and truffles really are very good here - quality of product has never been the issue. But this time, when the shop was empty (since no festivals were taking place), we were the only people waiting for service, except for the person paying at the cash register. There was an employee standing in the back corner of the candy area just looking at us, but never once tried to help or even saying hello. The employee behind the cash register had to nod in her direction and point to us, as in "why don't you help them place their order?" This is total nonsense. We will probably go back there since we love their chocolates and truffles, but they need a serious course in customer service.

I have eaten at Doug’s in Skaneateles many times since they opened in 1982.
I have also patronized many of the “Togo” benefits for the various causes throughout the central NY area. Yesterday I purchased 2 scallop dinners from the “Togo “ wagon in Aurora. The meal was the worst I ever had since I have been enjoying Doug’s food. The scallops were hardly recognizable and very much over cooked. I understand that a portion of the price goes to the various non profits, But for $17.00 I don’t think it is to much to ask that the food is of top quality.

Skan-ellus has hands down the best ice cream. However, try a cheeseburger. Sounds strange, but they are delicious, juicy, and flavorful. The french fries are not my favorite, they are breaded or coated with something. They have a great macaroni salad which I choose for a side instead. They are little on the pricey side (in my opinion), but it does not seem to stop the crowds of people lining up for their food. Highly recommend!

We did quite a bit of research and had a list of 6 wineries we wanted to visit in the Finger Lakes region. In our opinion Heart and Hand had the nicest wines, we tried the dry Rieslings and Pinot noirs ant they were delicious. A few dollars more expensive than others but well worth it. Life is really too short to drink inferior wines, tasting room only open Friday to Sunday. Well worth a visit.

The Sherwood Inn features seasonal menus rooted in Classic American fare. Sherwood Classic items such as the Yankee Pot Roast and Baked Scrod Christopher are available year round, while our chefs change other seasonal entree selections based on the market availability of the freshest seafood, finest steaks and chops, and freshest locally grown produce. The menu often showcases several food and beverage options which are produced in New York State. A wide selection of Finger Lakes wine appear on our Wine Spectator Magazine award winning wine list.
We had an hour wait but the Prime rib and Salmon was very good. The decor was a nice added touch too. We will be back for the prime rib and Salmon.
