I've been coming to JoJo's Pretzels for almost twenty years, and these are the ONLY soft pretzel that I eat! These pretzels are made from scratch while you watch and are served to you hot from the oven. You can order different dips to go with them, and while the only 'proper' option is cheddar cheese on a plain salted pretzel, there are many different possibilities for people with other tastes. These pretzels make the three hour drive that it takes for me to visit well worth it, and I can't wait for the next time I can make it in!

Great quick stop to pick up your favorites. Although the location provides simple meals it is also a general store for purchasing those favorite Amish specialties. I always stock up on my favorite peach salsa and peach butter jam. Prices are a bit high if you are comparing them to retail store prices but the taste is worth the little bit higher price.

This was the best shaved ice I ever enjoyed! Price was reasonable. Size was good. My husband actually paid for the treat for the young girl in front of us and she was excited.

We had a nice lunch here - just sandwiches - it’s reasonably priced and straight forward with lots of seating inside and out. We bought various baked goods to take home and were sadly disappointed. All of the baked goods seemed to lack flavor (not sure how else to describe it). The oatmeal raisin cookie had a slight chemical taste of baking powder or baking soda. We couldn’t taste pumpkin in the pumpkin nut bread. The snickerdoodle cookies were decent. I wouldn’t buy baked goods here again. We sampled the various jams and pumpkin butter. All tasted quite good but we didn’t buy any.

When the newly built Blue Gate Restaurant & Bakery opened it doors on August 4th, 2001 in Shipshewana, the entire town was invited over for dinner. As one of Indiana's largest restaurants, the Blue Gate comfortably seats 600 (more than the town's population). Built to reflect the surrounding community, the Blue Gate resembles a rambling white farmhouse, similar to those that dot the surrounding Amish coutnryside. An award winning restaurant serving a world famous Family-style meal that features pressure fried chicken and 3 other meats, real mashed potatoes, Amish noodles, plus lots of other sides and 25 varieties of pies to choose from
The food is simply delicious and not only delicious but everything tasted so fresh. The restaurant is beautiful, huge and has a pleasant and friendly vibe. The server was very nice and friendly as well. She made sure I was happy with what I ordered. They have an amazing bakery. I took home a Dutch Apple Pie, some Apple Butter and Peanut Butter as well. Anytime I am in town this will be my go-to restaurant. I have to take a moment to mention the ladies bathroom, holy guacamole I've never seen a bathroom that big and beautifully decorated.

On the recommendation of a client, I stopped in at 5&20 Restaurant for lunch around 11:40 on a Wednesday morning. I walked into the coffee shop side and noticed a sign that said to seat yourself. I grabbed a small table along the south wall and was immediately greeted by a waitress who asked if I wanted coffee (there were cups already on the tables). I said yes and after a quick glance at the menu ordered the catfish dinner with a side of mashed potatoes. I also added the add-on salad bar ($4.99) as my client said it was good. I went to the salad bar and saw it had a good selection – not the widest I’ve seen, but good – and filled up my plate with my preferences (see picture). My waitress came by at good intervals, making sure my coffee cup was filled. Before I could finish my salad, the entrée came out (see picture), which included the catfish, mashed potatoes, and a roll. Although the fish was accompanied by tartar sauce, I didn’t use it. The catfish was some of the best I’ve ever had – it was very moist, the crust was flaky, and it was absolutely delicious. I tried to make out the spices used (I saw what looked like dill seed but I think it was something else) as they made the crust so flavorful. The fish cut like butter since it was so moist and flaky, and it had no muddy taste like some catfish does; I could have been eating walleye or some type of white fish had I not known better. I’d love to come back to 5/20 to try the whitefish dinner to see if it’s just as good as the catfish! Many other Midwest staples are on the menu, and there’s also an ice cream shop and plenty of pie on site, so this is definitely a place to try for a tasty, reasonably priced lunch.

The food was delicious. You go to counter to order. However, system needs work. Orders are done one at a time, so food comes out slow. Line of customers got longer and longer. Couldn't hear well when your name was finally called. We had chicken salad. Tasty. Restaurant was clean.

With Amish home-style cooking, the Auction Restaurant is ready to serve any hungry bargain hunter. Located on State Road 5 by the main entrance to the Flea Market, it's a great place to grab a bite to eat or simply take a break with a piece of fresh pie!
Went here after going to the flea market for lunch. My family and I had a good lunch. My son had the chicken tenders, my wife had the Turkey club (huge, could not eat all of it), and I had the chicken noodles with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. We got there at 10:50am so we could have had breakfast or lunch. When we got there the place was almost empty. By 11:30 the place was almost full.

Located just off Hwy 20 they have lots of off-street parking. The menu is the same as our previous visit 2 years ago - home cooked comfort food. Note - only open for breakfast and lunch, no longer open for dinner.
We stopped in for breakfast with 2 other couples and were quickly shown to a table. The waitress arrived promptly and took drinks orders and was very pleasant and efficient.
The meals were not served at the same time, with 2 meals arriving, followed by a 4 to 5 minute gap for 3 more meals, then a lengthy wait for the last meal to arrive. The portions are generous, but mine was not served hot.
Most unfortunate, as on 2 previous visits the food was exceptional.

Smaller place but service and food was good. The root beer was best I’ve ever had and pizza was not too heavy like chain pizzas can sometimes be. Mixture of travelers and locals dinning in area that was a bit crowded but we enjoyed it.
