The poutine and the retro Burger are so good !! The retro Burger is a huge one and you really must try it. Great little cantine with retro style !

They use such beautiful ingredients... and then ruin them by cooking them to death.. very reminiscent of a resort in Cuba. I ordered the 'assiette du capitaine,' and not only did it come out medium warm, but the fish was so overcooked you almost needed the knife to cut through it.
No seasoning, not even salt and pepper.
The decor is painfully dated... feels like you're ordering straight from the 80s.
If you want great seafood, go to the fish markets and pick up some of their prepared foods, crab legs, and smoked salmon.

We stopped here for lunch between Baie-Comeau and Natashquan, and there aren't many choices or locations that aren't simple fast food. When we arrived, we went upstairs to get seated at a table, but there was a loud party with small children and a screaming baby, plus the place was covered in spilled popcorn from the kids using the self-service popcorn machine down the stairs. I am sure they had fun. Anyway, as my wife had a headache we went and sat in the bar downstairs instead. The menu is standard, but the fish and chips I had turned out to be very good, and there isn't much you can do wrong with poutine. As commented by others, the service was very slow, and I think we were there an hour and a half for our quick meal. The service was friendly enough, but even allowing for the party upstairs, I think the place was understaffed. Location-wise, it is surprisingly nice, right by the harbour front walkway looking out into the bay. You can watch the big boats coming and going while you wait. As it happened, my wife lost a glove, and on the return wwe dropped in to check, and sure enough, they had found it, and returned it with smiles. I guess in spite of the slow service, this must be one of the best options in Sept-Iles as long as you are not in a hurry, and maybe my 3 star rating is a little uncharitable after they returned my wife's glove.

Restaurant Pasta offers fine Italian and continental cuisine and a superior wines list.
WE went for diner... It was very cold in that restaurant, we asked the guy put put the heating on.... not possible to do so... because the manager was not in yet.... we were abou 30 persons in that restaurant lookking at each other...about hte meal.... good meal not to expensive but the wine is expensive. I beleive this is the best restaurant in Sept-Iles. Living in Sept-Iles for 25 years

I went several times in the past month. There's always tables to be seated for lunch or supper. Waiting staff is friendly and prompt. I personally found the menu to be a bit limited, especially for lunch, but everyone should find something they like. They also have a daily special available.
Their seasoned chips are amazing. I highly recommend them for an appetizer. Their rib pizza is also pretty good. Hamburgers are a safe bet and are of more than reasonable size. However I found the fish and chips to be average at best because of too much fried battered. Overall I would recommend this place if you're looking for a nice pub atmosphere and a good meal.

Nice atmosphere conducive to conversation, helpful staff, very good food and reasonable prices. Enjoyed the duck confit. The tofu skewer was also very good.

I went there by myself to order a pizza for take-out because I heard good things about this place.
The surrounding of the restaurant are not the prettiest, but when you get inside it warm and cosy. The vibe in the restaurant seem pretty good to enjoy a meal there.
Service was fast and good.
The food itself was fine, I had a "pizza piquante", the size of the pizza was ok for 1 person but it was lacking a bit a flavor for me. Also the pizza had some olives on it and some of them were not pitted lucky for me I didn't took a good bite at it. Finally I tought it was a bit "$$$" for the size and the garnish I had on my pizza.
Overall it was not a bad meal, I had just my expectations build for more. So yes I believe it could a good place to have a good meal with friends.
Hope this can help you to make your mind !

Family told us to eat here if we wanted fresh seafood. While visiting Sept Iles we had lunch at Les terrase du Capitaine located behind the fish store on the waterfront. The restaurant is somewhat shaped as an interior of a boat. More impressively, there are multiple model boats around the whole ceiling as decoration. Food wise this was a great choice. I had fresh cod with rice while others had the seafood chowder (good! Lots of seafood), lobster and crab sandwiches. Lunch comes with your coffee/tea and dessert. A chocolate ice cream cake. There is also (I believe connected to the restaurant) outside a snack bar with fresh seafood sandwiches etc. They have a cool sitting area shaped like a giant lobster trap!

If I could give partial stars, this would be a 4.5 stars. Food was very good, service was excellent. Serving staff informed us that the restaurant recently (a week prior or so) remodelled thee interior and modified their menu from a more gastronomic menu to a more pub like menu. Don't let it fool you some of the old menu items are still on the menu as well as some less expensive fair. All in all it may have made this restaurant more inviting to a larger audience, either way worth going to. Very good onion soup, with pine nuts (not something I ever thought to pair, but it worked nicelly). I had the chili nachos and my coworker had "bavette de boef" (flank steak). Both meals were very good.

Simple restaurant, conveniently located near the shore. You order your food from the Takeout stand and go in the "cage à homard" (lobster trap) right next to it. The shrimp rolls are pretty good. You also have a variety of fast food items. Great place to stop by if you're around.
