Authentic French bakery, with so many choices it will make your head spin. We finally selected two king cakes (very good), cream puffs (excellent), a chocolate croissant (yum), a napoleon (outstanding, my favorite), a loaf of bread and some dinner rolls. We highly recommend everything. The staff was lovely, too. A simple place, packed with perfectly-prepared delectable pastries and breads. Don't miss it. Time to splurge.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and really enjoyed the place and the food. You don't go for atmosphere, but for someone from far away, the hub bub, smells, friendly chatter of customers and staff all speak to a great Cajun tradition: friends sharing great food. Tried the smoked sausage, two pounds of smoked boudin and a link of the crawfish boudin. Now I am telling you, that is good eating! They offer jalepeno boudin also and many other choices of boudin balls, some mixed with cheese. Coolers along wall are stocked with many great Cajun foods, meats and meals as well as refreshments. Get there if you can.

Great Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop!! Ice Cream and shakes were great!! I did not get to try it but the Frito Pie looked good(Frito's topped with Chili and Cheese ). Wish I had ordered the banana split. Didn't see it until after eating my ice cream but it looked amazing.

I am not from Louisiana, my grandchildren & I along with their dad moved to Lafayette in February 2015. This is Mardi Gras season , King cake is another masterpiece of Meche's on Guilbeau Road in Lafayette. My grand daughter and I often walk from our apartment home for our delicious edible pleasures. Such a cozy place and the staff is as sweet as the donuts. I have been to many donut shops ,in many different states. Never had a better donut. Don't miss out. They now have a frozen custard machine as well !!

After a friend recommended this place, we stopped there while driving through Louisiana. More a store than restaurant, there are a few tables you can sit at, but otherwise you might be out of luck. We ordered the boudin (as he insisted) and could not eat it. It was wet, stringy, mealy and odd. So we tried a hamburger. A hamburger is safe, right? No. I have no idea what meat was used for the patty, but it tasted off and was just too dry to eat. Not one to give up on a friend's insistent recommendation, we tried a shrimp poboy. Okay, that was fine, but honestly not worth the detour from our trip. Can I recommend this place? No, not for us. However, it seems popular with the locals and they've found something we missed. Try it if you like a new experience, but avoid the boudin.

Place was recommended by an older gentleman met at the interpretive center. The fried oysters with jalapenos were good but a bit pricey for this neck of the country. The snapper my wife had was a good size snd was good. The tilapia was a good portion except I don't like eggplant, the sauce with shrimp on the fish was good. The service was very good on a Saturday night at 6:30.

We may not take ourselves seriously, but we always take our food seriously. Generic is our mortal enemy.A truly American restaurant always has an opinion. At Zea, we state ours confidently, unapologetically and with a little swagger and laughter. Maybe it's our New Orleans roots, but we know good food. And our personalities are as bold as our menu items are flavorful. As with most lovable southerners, what you see is what you get at Zea. That simply tends to be a lot of extraordinary. Go ahead - try anything on the menu. And don't worry; you'll be hungry again in a few days, inspiring you to come back and try something new.
I had not visited this restaurant for some time, but did go back and was happy with some menu adjustments they had made. Since I often went on the same day of the week each time I visited they offered the same choice of roasted entrée. Now there are more choices and I have tried more items. All have been very good. I have never had a problem with the appearance of the restaurant but understand they are going to do some renovations. A great choice !

I have brought my family to Deano's for many years. The pizza is great. Cajun executioner is the best for jalapeños lovers. The muffuletta is yummy also. Don's forget the friend mushrooms or fried pickles for appetizer. They are the best. In other words, hard to say what is not good.

It has been 7 years since I passed this way and this trip didn't disappoint. The boudin balls were perfect as always and so were the cracklins. I had to take a bunch of boudin back with me. You can buy it fresh or frozen. Nice little grocery with a good variety of meats.
