Charming Savannah is the picture of antebellum hospitality, thanks to period architecture and oak-lined streets. It’s tempting to spend your trip just relaxing on vast verandas and sipping mint juleps, but there are plenty of historical sites and museums to explore. Haunting (and possibly haunted) Bonaventure Cemetery is one of the hallmarks of the city, featuring beautiful obelisks, masses of flowers, and ivy-covered crypts. Dine on fresh seafood and creamy grits for a taste of Savannah home cooking.

Wow! we felt like special guests dining here for lunch. We asked which of the gentlemen there is Joe and were told that all 3 would respond! No doubt! Everyone got to try their tomato jam, which tasted wonderful on our daily special sandwiches. There are plenty of choices on their menu so next time well try something new again! The seating area is very small but they will move tables and chairs to accommodate their customers. There is also seating outside, in front of the cafe, which would be nice for a quick lunch in good weather.

Inspired by the decadence of the 1920s, Chive Sea Bar & Lounge offers a unique dining affair in Savannah's Historic District. Located on bustling Broughton Street, Chive is a refreshing change of pace for those seeking an intimate experience like no other, for special occasions or a weekday wind down. Our signature vintage cocktails made with top-shelf favorites are perfectly paired with dishes incomparable to any fare served downtown. Chive Sea Bar & Lounge is the ideal place for the Southern pace, bringing the classic to the contemporary.
A very attractive room with a great buzz. All the food was excellent. Seafood soups, salads, cobia, sea bass and crab. Decent wine list. Service knowledgeable and professional. Reasonably priced & well worth it.

No trip to Savannah is complete without a visit to Leopold's Ice Cream! Named One of the Top 10 Ice Cream Parlors in the World, Leopold's is a "Must-Do." You'll love our retro ice cream parlor, complete with old-fashioned soda fountain & friendly soda jerks. You'll also experience a little piece of Hollywood in Savannah as you peruse Stratton Leopold's collection of film posters and props from films he has worked on over his 45 plus years in the movie industry! Leopold's Ice Cream was founded in 1919 by three brothers from Greece. They learned the art of candy and dessert from an uncle who had settled in America. The brothers perfected their secret formulas and created the now world-famous Leopold's VeriBest™ ice cream. Our ice cream is made in historic, Downtown Savannah, one batch at a time, using family recipes handed down from the Leopold brothers. With our full soda fountain menu & more than 28 flavors available at any given time, we've got something just for you!
I went to Leopold’s ice cream with my family not to long ago. When we got there, there was quite a long line. Since we had wanted to try it for so long we waited! I personally got the ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip ice cream! It was delicious and I would definitely recommend! Although the line was long Leopold’s has a great staff, and I was very impressed with how fast the line moved. They had great service and were very efficient! Everyone must try it at least once. I will go back next time I visit!!

We arrived around 10:00 to get into the already formed line as recommended by our trolley driver. Lunch begins seating at 11:00 and is served family style. We sat with 8 other people and enjoyed conversation as we passed many delicious southern dishes. The fried chicken, beef stew, creamed corn and biscuits were my personal favorites. The very kind owner came by to speak with our table and assure we had everything we needed. After a dessert of either peach alamode or banana pudding (both were delicious) each person clears their own plate, silverware and glass and takes it to the back before heading out. Great food and experience!

Starland Cafe is a locals only kind of place. We are located in a restored victorian house next to savannah's first dog Park. We specialize in made from scratch food serving panini on our fresh baked ciabatta bread, salads made from organic and locally sourced produce, and we have several vegan/vegetarian items on our menu. Our clientele are an eclectic group of customers ranging from business types, students from the local Art College, and The Ladies who Lunch crowd. The one thing they all have in common is the need for outstanding food, made with love, and served with a smile!
Over the decade I have lived in Savannah, I probably have gone to The Starland Cafe for lunch every couple of months. Casual, partial self-serve (stand in line to order; get your own soda/water/iced tea)...they bring your food to your table. My favorite, the Kitchen Sink salad is always crisply fresh and the grilled chicken breast on top perfectly cooked. It is more than satisfying. Their soups are good...my favorite is the tomato with a goat cheese "bomb." And if you are a panini lover, they look terrific, though I have never indulged. Not on the beaten path, you have to find it in Savannah's Starland District, but it is well worth the initial search.

We ate breakfast here 2 mornings while in Savannah. Its a lovely little cafe on Bay Street on the river side before you descend the historic steps to the actual river street. The coffee and teas were great. The croissants and breakfast pastries were delicious. We tried every flavor of macaroon and they were all wonderful. In fact we found another macaroon store in Savannah and Café M's macaroons were the best ! good service too !

Saw the people lined up and knew that was a good indication of quality. Ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich and it was big, messy and oh so good! Walk down to the nearest square, sit on a bench, and enjoy the beauty and the YUM!

The good- we split a salad. They were nice enough to plate it into two. My husband had the Piggy Pappradelle, which he said was very good. I had the mussels. I thought the tomato base was overwhelming but that’s personal opinion.
The bad- don’t order a gin and tonic unless you really like tonic in a small glass with very little ice.
Also, tables are close on the patio and you hear everyone else’s conversations.
There are many wonderful restaurants in Savannah that are within walking distance of many of the B and Bs and hotels. This one is not.
I doubt we would return.

The atmosphere and décor here are great. The service by Damon was excellent and the manager came around to see if everything was satisfactory. I had the veal Oscar--superb. Reservations recommended.

Intimate, elegant and gracious, Gryphon is located at Bull and Charlton in the ornate 1926 Scottish Rite building. The alluring cafe menu offers signature favorites and fresh, seasonal offerings of rich, organic ingredients from local sources. Gryphon is the premier cafe of the Savannah College of Art and Design, and some SCAD students work in the cafe and carry on the renowned tradition of Savannah hospitality.
My friends and I wandered into the Gryphon because we heard the decor was special. It certainly is! This is an old pharmacy with beautiful woodwork lovingly restored by the Savannah Art school students. The ambience is like stepping into the turn of the 20th century.
While we originally only wanted tea, the menu convinced us to make a meal of it. We shared an “afternoon tea” offering of finger sandwiches, scones, petite cakes, and sweets plus an amazing grilled cheese sandwich on jalapeño bread with a side salad. I also had a delicious chai latte. Everything was top notch and reasonably priced. GO!
