We had to leave this restaurant, because we had to wait about 15, before they brought menus to us, and it really seams like they forgot to come back to us. After 10 min of additional waiting we left. Interestedly that restaurant was 20% full at that time. It is nice location and nice decor inside of the restaurant.

Had dinner here on a Thursday evening. Welcome and service was very good but the dishes were even better.
The amuse bouche of Lemon Mousse was intriguing but wonderful. Started off sweet but changed to unsweet - amazing. Both of us had the gazpacho starter which had a ball of sweet and chill pepper ice-cream in the middle - just marvellous. Mains were chateaubriand for me - perfectly cooked - and sandre (pike-perch) with mushroom risotto for my wife, which she says is one of the best fish dishes she's ever had. We both finished with cheese with a wide and varied selection offered.
With kir royals and wine the bill was 100€ which we thought was very reasonable for the high quality of food and service. Highly recommended.

Eaten twice here recently, and an excellent experience. Cuisine is extremely good.
Of the starters the foie gras in mushroom soup is simply lovely with enormous depth of flavour. The gambas and confit egg aren't bad either!
Main of noir de bigorre ( black pig from the Pyrenees I believe) with a croquette of meat with jus was gorgeous comfort food.
Cheeses were excellently aged and many unusual varieties which was very interesting.
Chocolate desert featured a black olive ice cream which brings one up a bit short, but was quite lovely.
Really good amuses bouches and petits fours as well, makes this a superb choice for an excellent dinner. They do a quick lunch too which I'd like to try sometime.

French traditional cooking. Large range of local wine available with meals and to buy. Restaurant in a quiet street on eastern side of the town. Lovely atmosphere. Medium price.
A delightful place--we started with an aperitif on the street side table and then moved indoors for the meal. The staff were delightful and the ambience classically French.
This is a local's favourite as that was how we ended up there.
By North American standards the food was a 5 but compared to other places we ate, in all honestly it was not quite as good as a similar restaurants--perhaps it was too busy of a night.
All said--we would definitely go back when in the area again.
Definitely reserve ahead--and also to assure they are open.

What a lovely meal we had and washed down with a nice bottle of Nerleux Saumur Champigny( next day we went to the winery and bought 18 bottles!). I had escargots with 3 different butters, a dozen which were all superb, my wife had the foie gras, again very good. We both had steak mains which were just perfect and so tasty. Then cheese and puddings, again delicious. The bill for all this came to 84€ which was pretty good for such a quality experience. If you're in Saumur then don't think twice, just go here.

For soon 30 years, a Creperie in the suggestive decoration in the biggest Breton tradition. The menu, hospitality service & food are impecable. Gourmet & mixed salads and varied are also proposed. Big Terrace and free parking lots nearby. Our flours of buckweat and white wheat, the milk, eggs, our craft Breton beers, our ciders Breton farmers, our wines, minced beef, spinach, apples, the smoked tofu and the cream of soya are all stemming from the agriculture and from the organic "biological breeding".
Small family run creperie serving sweet and savoury galletes and crepes, Breton style along with Breton cider.
Friendly and attentive staff. Quite a varied menu offering a lot of choice of fillings for your crepe. Reasonable wine list and good list of beers and ciders.
Good service and good quality food.

Un peu à l'écart du centre ville, une adresse gourmande et chaleureuse
We went with friends who had not been there before. The menus are well priced and the food on both the 27 and 30 Euro menus was very good. Excellent starters, lovely duck. Mise en bouche served and beautiful fresh bread. Our desserts were also delicious. Given 4 circles not 5 as Our friends very nicely cooked filet de boeuf in a mushroom sauce with frites would have benefitted from a vegetable accompaniment. Also, an explanation of what was on the cheese platter would have been welcome. These are small points however. Excellent desserts. All food was beautifully presented and delicious. The wine was delicious too. The renovations are very classy - looks great. We won't hesitate to return!

Went to this restaurant for my birthday treat today prior to going to the Cadre Noir show. It certainly didn't disappoint. We both had sirloin steak cooked differently and perfectly. Both were tasty and succulent and the home made chips were wonderful. Interesting choice of sauces to accompany the steaks. I had an Argentinean one called something like Chirrichimi. Very tasty and a welcome change from the usual pepper blue cheese or barbecue sauces offered habitually in this area . Nice puds as well - I had a dame blanch ice cream with hot chocolate sauce and my husband had the warm apple tart. Friendly efficient service. Almost faultless - will certainly go again.

Had a meal in restaurant yeaterday evening which was excellent. All 4 starters were well presented and in most cases large which made the main meals a little harder to finish.
All food and wine was served at appropriate speed allowing us to enjoy the food and ambitious of the premises.
The staff were first class friendly and very efficient.
The wine was not the cheapest around but certainly value for money.
We looked around for another restaurant tonight but due to circumstances ended up back here which on a Saturday evening was very busy.
I would say all service food and drinks were of the same quality as the day before.
I would highly recommend this Restaurant to any visitors to the area.
