We came to this restaurant cause of the good reviews.
We have waited almost 30 mn for the menu. But it's normal... because there is no menu here. You have to wait for the explanations of the chef owner.
Don't expect to eat meat or something else than fish... you have just the choice between 3 grilled fishes. And you don't know the price.
There is no bread, no olives, no cheese. Just a soup of fish as a starter.
Then you have to wait for an other waiter for the drinks....
So we have paid 16 euros for 3 small pieces of potatoes and a small piece of fish.
As there is no menu, for drinks food, you don't know the price.
It was the most expensive price we've paid for this kind of meal in Azores. The drinks are also very expensive...
The previous and good comments for this restaurant definitively belong to the past.

We were the second table and the third and the fourth person in the whole restaurant to order food. And it took 85 minutes until we got a hamburger and a pizza. The people inside that ordered half an hour later got their food half an hour earlier than we got it. The food was average. The choclate mousse came right out of the fridge but it was warm and poor quality

Nice local place for a break along the coast. Had a cop of coffee and a beer sitting outside enjoying the nice view of the sea and feeling the fresh sea breeze. Near the whaling museum (closed!).

My husband and I ate Refugio for the first time last night. This restaurant is located in Sao Miguel Arcanjo on the main road that circles Pico (Estrada Regional 1). Sao Miguel Arcanjo is located between Sao Roque and Prainha. We had fresh grilled Grouper with boiled potatoes and fresh fruit and vegetables. The food was excellent and well presented. The prices are very reasonable and the management was very gracious. You can eat inside or outside on the covered/protected patio out front. There is ample parking across the road. We will definitely dine there again during our current stay on Pico and during future visits. Very nice!

Casa Ancora is a modern restaurant that opened in August 2016 in Sao Roque do Pico. Architecture and design by world renowned Portuguese architects. Fusion cuisine by a young star chef with background in Michelin restaurants. Fresh local products. Carefully selected wines. Lounge open Terrace right in front of the ocean Casa Ancora - we are open for you!
Went for dinner at Casa Ancora with my husband and had a fabulous evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially with wine recommendations, and the food was fantastic.
We shared the bruschetta with chicken and lime as a starter and both thought it was lovely, and I then had the beef cheeks with marinated pear as a main (delicious, and incredibly tender) whilst my husband had the grilled octopus, which he said was fantastic. For dessert, the chocolate tart (which had coconut in the base) was amazing, and one of the best desserts I've ever had.
Although it was one of the more expensive meals that we had on Pico, it still only cost 60 euros (+ a tip) including wine, which for the standard of cooking I felt was great value. Would highly recommend!

We were here visiting family and would have coffee and bread and or pastries everyday. We would also take advantage of their lunch special good home cooking. Service was great. Pedro the owner was often onsite, very personable, and polite. You can also check your wifi here. Great find. Don't forget to try his pizza. The best pizza I've ever eaten.

Baco's Corner was inaugurated in April of this year, in Lajido in Santa Luzia, in the Island of Pico. This lodging is integrated in the landscape of the vineyard culture classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It consists of 3 units local accommodation and a Wine Bar. Regarding the Bar, our objective is to recover and reinforce the traditions and wine cultures of this landscape, thus exclusively promoting Pico wines, spirits and liqueurs, as well as other regional drinks such as Gin from the Azores and regional juices and soft drinks. We offer traditional tidbits typical from our island of Pico, prepared with the best regional and local fresh products. In the snacks menu we stand out from the traditional spicy sausage to the black sausage with yams and homemade corn bread “bolo no tijolo”. We complete the menu with several sandwiches and toasts with special ingredients served in the traditional breads of the Island and Region. Varying from day to day, traditional sweets will always be present.
Super spot , the quiet place in the world with the pico mountain on the back, and São Jorge island on the other side. very nice people , swimming pool and great breakfast , a must place in pico island

Went for dinner with my husband at Restaurante Montanha and although everything was fine, it was just that - fine. The food was nothing special, and the service was very half-hearted. This was the closest restaurant to our accommodation so we had been planning on going more than once during our holiday, but after our first visit we decided we would rather spend more time driving to other restaurants than return here. Disappointing.
