This restaurant was recomended by the hostel i was staying in. As always the food in Cuba was bland and so overpriced. The service was good but the time it took for people to get their meals was lengthy.
As in Cuba musicans start playing whilst you are eating then expect a tip! Why don't these restaurants pay them they're making enough from the overpriced food.

It's not a fancy place but it is a place to get a good plate of basic Cuban fare. Prices are fair and service is good. We found one place we liked better in town but there are others not as good. El Alba was in the top 3rd of all the places we ate in Cuba.

We came across this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to eat after watching orchestra in the Centre Square.
We were shown into the smaller room which is air conditioned ( & possibly slightly more expensive ?! ) but our food was nice & the staff were friendly. Good selection of cocktails & a reasonable menu selection too.
Great value regardless

The tables are arranged on a covered outdoor patio. There are several different "lines" where you can take as much or as little as you want which is perfect bevause you get to try so many different typical Cuban foods. Lots of fruits, salads, rice & beans, vegetables, soup, desserts, and grilled fish/pork/chicken/. . . as well as fried fish.
Beer, wine and full bar available. There was a small band playing when we were there for lunch. The place was packed and this was a late lunch. The servers kept the buffet full and we went back as many times as we wanted.
Definitely enjoyed this place and would go back.

My friends and I came here for two things: the Ropa Vieja and the Lobster. We loved the food and the beautiful courtyard/terrace where we dined. The drinks were mediocre, but what a great ambience, and I appreciated the limited menu offerings. There were also a musician and a singer playing music, which provided the perfect background music. It was a perfect night. Thank you!

We were part of a large group, and we found the service good. The buffet lunch was tasty and there were plenty of choice. The restaurant was outside but undercover, The garden is a well-kept and added to a great atmosphere. Worth a visit

I booked this restaurant to celebrate my partner's birthday while in Cuba. I booked it from home and didn't know what to expect when we showed up in person. The rooftop was great, service was attentive, and the Terrace not too overcrowded. Very nice selection of mains at a reasonable price. The restaurant was just a little lacking in atmosphere because on that night there was no guitarist but two violinists and we don't particularly enjoy this type of music. Nevertheless, the dinner was great and we were so moved when they brought a cake to our table and all sang Happy Birthday to my partner! What a nice touch and incredibly generous surprise on their behalf! We shared the cake with all staff and other guests. Muchas Gracias again!

It is a family restaurant, where they make the customer feel as a is part of it.
The menu as the food, is well balance. Portions are abundant, but inexpensive for American standard.
The service is at easy, anyone of the staff will address your request in a timely manner.
It is a three story building, I like the third floor Terrace. For its relaxed atmosphere.

The restaurant is housed in a historic building just next to the old Santa Clara fire station. Food is delicious, plentiful and very reasonable with a good menu. Service is attentive and polite. Perfect for group lunches with a large table to seat up to 30.
