The Juan Mari, Michelin recommended restaurant, turned out to have been an excellent choice for a birthday celebration meal.
We drove round the day before and made the booking and were given a complimentary coffee. the restaurant is Spanish and decorated to a modern high standard. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs during the evening. A menu in English was offered without asking and the menu options were excellent for all our needs. complimentary nibbles and a large home made oiled bread was placed on the table. They stocked our preferred Juan Gill wine and it was quickly on the table. Our menu selections made, when our starters arrived we realised that it was only the northern Europeans who had one each. They are large enough to share and we will certainly share them in future. The starters were delicious, especially the black-pudding lollipops (4) My main meal selection was duck breast and I prefer the skin crispy rather than seared, however that did not detract from the delicious correctly cooked breast in a wonderful sauce, with poached pears. A postre of fig ice-cream nicely cleansed the mouth, before coffees and brandies, brought the evening to an excellent end.
A new restaurant for us that with it's well stocked menu, we will most definitely be returning to in the very near future.

Good service & great food & most of the dishes come on a Hot Hot Hot plate, which stays hot until well after you finish your meal!
A good tip for many restaurants all over
Had chicken cordon bleu which was excellent!!
So good we went back & I ordered it again

Thought we would give this restaurant a try as it's rated number one in the area. We we're disappointed.
We had to ask for the wine list three times before we got it. A starter of house salad was fresh, but expensive for what we got..mainly lettuce leaves. We then had the paella, which was very good except for the fact it was too salty.
The waiters never poured our bottle of wine, and didn't even offer us a desert menu, so I guess they wanted us to leave, which we did. Would I go again?...probably not.

Always very welcoming. Great service, very very good food. Lovely fresh seafood and fish and the goat's leg is a must. All reasonably priced, it is one of the favourite places of the locals for a reason. Highly recommended!Thank you very much for your opinion. We hope to see you soon. Regards!

Brilliant Spanish food, very very good prized, very fresh and pack of flavour, the onlu lack more proffesional staff. Is a hidden little gem with live music in weekends.
El Gallego is a fantastic restaurant if you are celebrating or want to entertain. It is quite literally a carnivores heaven with the biggest steaks, meat dishes and a fantastic selection of fish. To be fair there is not much on offer for vegetarians. We visited with our family and had a feast - of various steaks and meat platters.
You are submerged in Spanish culture with a real family feel and a friendly atmosphere.

My very first review for Trip Advisor was relating to this excellent restaurant which we first visited some 12 years ago.
The original indoor dining area was typically Spanish setting with oil paintings around the walls and a traditional feel about the place. This of course still remains presumably for the cooler months and please make no mistake it is a wonderful setting in which to dine.
However, Immediately to this area is a new external dining area which is ultra modern and extremely tasteful with a central water feature to further relax their guests. Truly this is a wonderful contrast to the indoor facility and a imaginative idea for the summer months.
The food remains at the usual high standard and the menu is in both Spanish and English.
There were six of us in our party that evening and all were able to find a suitable mouth- watering dish to our individual taste. Our ages ranges between the more mature down to teenage diners.
Our main courses varied between leg of lamb, pork de Paris, large sirloin steak, pizzas and sea bass fish and the obligatory tomato bread to 'start'.
We all really enjoyed the evening and complimented the staff on their attentive attitude to us.
As I stated earlier we have visited this venue on several occasions in the past and never been disappointed. You may be wondering about cost but I can assure you it is no more expensive than some of the venues along the Promenade in Santiago and certainly much better value for money.
So, will you give this place a try, you most certainly will not be disappointed!!

A few along here by the Beach. Lovely location in the sun just opposite the beach.
Good menu, good food, good price, excellent location.
Friendly waiters.
Enjoyed our visit and will return. Can have a very pleasant walk along the front after.
Plenty of parking but probably difficult in high season.

This seemed be the place to go for Sunday lunch, judging by the loud buzz of conversation. Service was fast and efficient - in fact the waiters and waitresses literally ran around, sweating. Prices were excellent - the €6.95 menu includes prawn crackers, spring roll, salad or soups, choice of 14 main courses, rice or noodles, wine/beer/soft drink, ice cream or creme caramel or tea or coffee, and there's a choice of Japanese, Thai or Chinese food.
