Cafe La Puerta is a lovely place to enjoy a nice lunch in San Pedro! The entire restaurant is situated outdoors and the tables are scattered among a beautiful and tranquil garden setting with lots of lush green vegetation everywhere. Their menu offers a great selection of fresh and healthy meals including international dishes as well as local Mayan specialties. The atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxing and it was such a beautiful place to enjoy a fantastic lunch!
I ordered the vegetarian tacos and a strawberry banana smoothie and everything tasted absolutely delicious. The tacos were unique and were topped with a variety of cooked vegetables and they were beautifully presented as well. The staff were pleasant, friendly and cheerful and I had a wonderful experience eating here. Highly recommended and I will definitely come back to eat here next time I am in San Pedro!

I just wandered down the little street in San Marcos looking for something decent to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the clean atmosphere at Fe's. The owner greeted me personally and was very friendly to all the patrons. My meal was really a surprise though....I ordered a chicken Sandwich with avocado, whiskey onions and stuffing. It seemed a bit of an odd combination but was in fact really fresh and tasty. I would go there again to see what other odd concoctions they have. Highly recommend this place.

Constructed in the colonial architectural style with parabolic arches and Gardens, Blind Lemon’s reflects the tradition of Guatemala. And set in San Marcos La Laguna, a small Mayan village on Lake Atitlan, surrounded by towering volcanoes, Blind Lemon’s holds out an invitation to travelers who want good food served in a pleasing ambiance.Blind Lemon’s was built by a blues guitarist musician and cabinetmaker who wanted to create a music venue to attract the best in live entertainment, and give value and satisfaction to his customers. The restaurant features weekly Blues Nights, as well as big screen showings of recent Hollywood, documentary, art, and foreign films. We have had theatre presentations and circus Performances here as well as a host of wonderful musicians who have played here. We also have a bar and billiards for those so inclined. Blind Lemons also features an wireless internet cafe. The building is large enough to host conferences and workshops and with advanced notice we can serve food for large groups.
The day my daughter and I had lunch here we were the only one in the restaurant. We arrived about 1 o'clock. There was a friendly server who was also the cook. The lemon chicken and burger were both delicious and I highly recommend both. The mojito was good as well and my daughter's smoothie was very tasty. The only negative was that it took an hour to be served our lunch, two fairly simple and apparently the chicken is a very popular menu item. We had a lot to do (fun) even though on vacation and I'd have to say it was really slow service.

In a country like Guatemala, it is important that I eat in places which are run by local people.
Clover is one of them. There is an excellent menu with varying food, also very suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Also local people eat in Clover. And the prices are okay. Clover is also a romantic place with pleasant garden.
Support the locals and eat in excelent restaurants like the Clover.

My husband loved his spaghetti with bacon and cheese and it was a huge serving.
My coconut & onion sautéed shrimp were amazing. There were 4 jumbo prawns cooked in a delicious sauce, perfectly done and butterflied for easy eating.
Other customer comments about the plain sides are true. Their salad was a simple plate of shredded carrot, beets and cucumber with a mustard dressing. The shrimp came with roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli.
But man, oh man, did the plain sides allow the shrimp to be the star of the show. We’ll be back!

Stopped by for the Saturday brunch today. The price was good, but the service was terribly slow. Waited for about 1 hour and 10 minutes for simple eggs for me and an omelet for my wife. Had to remind the waitress about our missing toast. During the time we were there waiting, the waitress never asked us how things were, if we wanted anything else or that the food was on its way. The place wasn't super busy. The food was good. The place across the road has better food , is super quick and has very friendly owners. I will not go back to El Barrio.

A Graduate- run restaurant located in the CECAP vocational center building in the town of Santa Cruz la Laguna. It is part of a yearlong culinary arts program that trains local indigenous youth in food preparation and service. Open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. Also, special events and First Friday Pizza Nights. Take out menu available. The food is the best in Santa Cruz! The view from the rooftop restaurant is amazing as well. Visitors will have an opportunity to visit the vocational center and purchase locally made crafts in our shop.
This restaurant is operated by the Amigos de Santa Cruz NGO. It trains locals to work in the restaurant industry. The food. cooked by those learning the trade, was outstanding! We ate on the balcony overlooking gorgeous Lake Atitlan and its surrounding peaks (although some...MoreThanks for visiting us and supporting Amigos!

We were visiting Lake Atitlan for our 20th anniversary and our hotel was able to secure us a reservation for lunch. (You must have a reservation or they will not seat you)
The chef made a point to come out and speak to us and explain the origins of the meats and cheeses and also shared his background on why he started the restaurant. It is only open on weekdays for lunch so he and the staff can spend time with their families in the evening and weekends.
The atmosphere looking out over the mountain was as amazing as the food - truly a unique and wonderful experience.

After having tested most of the restaurants in San Marco (at least those open over the new year’s eve period) I can confidently say that this restaurant is the best in town. Ran by a handful of locals + a very nice Englishman from Liverpool, this vegetarian restaurant marks a refreshing change in the local offering of starchy pizzas, fake curries and other sandwiches. The garden is the sweetest place, even on a cool evening (brasero) and the menu simply spot on. I had the chunky veggie soup with home made bread, and the rest of the family home made pasta and risotto. Juices are yummy. Place is authentic and feels just right.

The El Dragon sits overlooking the Lake and the Key Lime pie is awesome, but...
It feels as though this place is still being developed. Everything (including the service) seems like it is "in progress". The veggie burger was huge, but a bit more bun that necessary All in all, I would come back...but only for the Key Lime pie.
