The food as usually was amazing and the staff wonderful. On top of that, when we asked them to call a cab and none were available as there was "something" going on, a gentleman offered to drive us back to the Posada and we had a great conversation with him in regard to his schooling etc. as he plans to be a lawyer. What a great end to wonderful night!

“Ajijic's most unique and romantic Boutique Hotel”Hotel La Nueva Posada is classified as a small boutique Hotel with Mexican Colonial charm and yet with all the modern amenities.
Not really fair to review this..meal..
We had American Thanksgiving here..
Nothing special..Turkey was moist..The plates heaped full of Turkey & all the trimming could have feed 4 adults..I guess we should have taken doggie bags home..
Would like to go back sometime for a regular meal..and have a better look at the stunning venu..

First visit this year for our winter in Ajijic.
Different specials almost everyday..very unique flavours..
3 of us had the Beef Patty with pulled Pork, bacon, cheese, tomato & lettuce Burger..Coleslaw & Fries..OMG...A full meal deal..Very good..We ordered it well done & it was cooked perfectly..
We have learnt for other experiences..( in other restaurants ) do not order medium..it will arrive almost raw..
Our friend had the Salmon..He said it was perfect..
Always a bit noisy eating outside..But great for people watching..

Yves’ Restaurant Bar was created to provide diners with a complete dining experience – food, ambiance, and service are each equally important. Yves’ is never complicated or pretentious; it is dedicated to delighting all the senses while providing an excellent value.
4 of us went for lunch..on a lovely sunny day.. Setting was lovely by the pool surrounded by Gardens & Donkeys.. 2 had the Patty Melt..It was good, nice use of Pumpernickel bread..but have had..better elsewhere.. A BLT was enjoyed also served on Pumpernickel....And I...MoreThank for your opinion

The coffee was excellent, as was the chocolate treat we took home. Prices are a little high by Mexican standards (you can drink a decent cup on the square for half the cost), but this was quiet, cool from the sun (no outdoor tables), has great decor and even WIFI!!!
Service is a little slow (you cannot be in a rush) but the staff were friendly. You pay after you have finished unless you are getting it to go.

Took advantage of the Tuesday "rib discount". Did not disappoint, in fact, the quality and service far exceeded our expectations! Servers were friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. As the meal was so filling, we were not able to try any desserts and were eagerly invited to come back for a special coffee and dessert another time. We were so impressed with this restaurant that we will definitely return. The atmosphere is quiet, "old school steakhouse meets Mexican el Fresco Dining". Perfection.

We were at the Plaza in time for lunch. Our timing was perfect, getting there just before the tiny restaurant filled up. The breakfast menu is very extensive while that for lunch is smaller, but it has all the typical dishes. My wife chose their signature Chiles Rellenos served with rice and beans. I had the Mexican plate which had a piece of steak, a Chile Relleno, two flautas served with the rice, beans and the best hand-made tortillas.
This restaurant serves authentic Mexican fare, is very inexpensive and centrally located on the Plaza.

Actually, I do not understand the rave reviews and I do know about French bakeries, including the ones in Paris. The quiche was very doughy as if it had not been cooked enough and the spinach filling was rather tasteless. The croissants were just average and so was the coffee. Those of us who had the "Salty" breakfast which included eggs had the same reaction of "just average." The baguettes were also only average and the service was somewhat below average. We had to ask three times for the check. It was not a language problem since all of us are bilingual. Finally, I had to go to the counter and pay. Nope, sorry but it did not come near to living up to the reviews. There are miuch better places in town.

A very lovely couple own and operate this restaurant. It is on the bottom level of a small mall. They have an open kitchen. The owner/waiter speaks excellent English and is warm and hospitable. The ambiance is plain but functional and clean. The pho (I had the Wednesday special) was bland when compared to any Vietnamese restaurant in the US. The portions were quite small (once again I am speaking comparatively as someone who frequents restaurants in the US) and the soup lacked flavor. It was quite bland and did not come with traditional sides of limes, sprouts, and Asian basil or parsley). I also ordered spring rolls which tasted like they were purchased frozen and thrown into the fryer just before serving. Nothing was bad but nothing was special or flavorful. The owners get five stars for their warmth and congeniality but the food is not stellar and does not. My friend got pot stickers and the Wednesday special too (a pork pho) and felt the same. Prices were reasonable.

Without a doubt, the best meals we've had in Ajijic! Lovely setting in a covered patio, pleasant and efficient staff. So many inviting lunch specials and regular menu options. Following other reviewers' recommendations, I ordered the lamb burger. Oh my gosh... Every mouthful was a delight! Tasty meat, with cheese and caramelized onions... So good! Served with delicious roasted baby potatoes and a very good fresh salad. The fish was also delicious, with fresh, perfectly sautéed veggies and tasty, nicely spiced rice. Other people's food looked so good, I actually leaned over to ask what they had ordered (taking notes for our next visit). Cannot say enough about the quality, quantity and taste. Cannot wait to go back. Closed Mon. & Tues. Free dessert on your birthday. Cash only.
