I don't often rate restaurants as highly as I have Valter's Osteria in SLC. Having traveled extensively to Italy, I have authentic restaurants and cuisine to compare. Valter's is as good as the best restaurants I, my wife and daughter have enjoyed on our trips to Italy. Not only was the food delicious, our waiters, when not finishing our dinner prep tableside, did everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home. We had only discovered Valter's two days prior to our visit while looking for restaurants for our only night in Salt Lake. We called for a reservation but could not be accommodated. However, we were invited to show up at opening to take our chances for a table or sit at the bar for a meal. We took them up on the offer and were seated right away. Should we return to SLC, Valter's will be high on our list to revisit. Don't miss this fine dining experience.

Takashi pushes the envelope of contemporary Japanese cuisine, presenting unrivaled sushi and sashimi along with innovative small plates and hot entrees in a memorable downtown setting.

Whether you prefer a bar side seat with a view of the action at the cutting boards, or a cozy table for two, our friendly and knowledgeable servers will guide you through the menus, the specials board, and our excellent collection of premium sake, beer, wine and fabulous specialty cocktails.

WHILE MOST SEATING IS ON A WALK-IN BASIS, we do offer a few early reservations through Open Table.
An excellent place to dine the best sushi and Japanese food. It's gourmet food. The service is not the best, the two people at the reception are not the friendliest. They charged us badly for a bottle of wine and the manager had to fix the price. The food of very good quality and abundant. They wait a long time until they take you to the table.

Eating at Bombay House is about much more than just food. It is a complete cultural submersion for all five of your senses. The rich aroma of exotic spices; the rhythms and songs of an ancient culture; warm, intimate lighting; vibrant murals portraying scenes from Indian life and legend; oven-toasted flat bread warming your fingers as you tear a piece to eat; the exquisite flavor of sumptuous food cooked to perfection and served with the same care and courtesy extended to family and guests of the highest honor. Bombay House is about providing you with a truly exceptional experience.
This Indian food restaurant has been in our city for many years. Their reputation has sustained as a quality provider of authentic ethnic cuisine. The ambiance is warm and decorated in a culturally consistent manner. The servers are pleasant and were willing to describe the large menu. The food was well presented . At our table the reactions ot the food varied from delicious to disappointing. This variance could be simply explained by individual taste and expectations. Overall, the group enjoyed the experience and would return again.

Log Haven, long synonymous with wildflowers, waterfalls and fine canyon dining, is located in a historic log mansion in the Wasatch National Forest, minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Consistently honored with the most national and local awards in the industry: Best Utah Restaurant, Best Salt Lake Restaurant, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and the coveted Hall of Fame Award. “This is the highest honor we can give a restaurant in Utah. It means that besides having great food, terrific ambiance and passionate people, something magical has happened to make this restaurant so consistently excellent on all fronts that it thrives as an inspiration to everyone in the business.” -Salt Lake Magazine
My husband had a business trip over Valentine’s Day so I tagged along so we could celebrate together.
Calling two weeks before the holiday, I found that Log Haven was booked for Valentine’s Day, but they run “three days of passion” so folks can take advantage of the atmosphere and food.
It really doesn’t matter if it’s on the EXACT day - as long as you’re with your Sweetie. Since we are not family with the area, we left a bit early just in case we got lost. We arrived about 25 minutes early. And, instead of asking if we would like to visit the bar before sitting down and waiting for our table, they directed us to a waiting area.
We waited until our allotted time and yes, I think it was worth it!
My husband loves filet and said his was quite good. He said the sauce that was served with it didn’t work well with his taste, but he did say the meat was cooked to his liking and was quite tender.
I had the pork loin with jalapeno mac and cheese. Kind of a different combination for fine dining, but it was great. The mac and cheese was quite spicy, but the pork lion came with an shredded apple on top that really cut the spice nicely.
Before our meal, we ordered the Asian style cauliflower as a starter. My husband isn’t a fan of cauliflower but we both dug into this app with gusto. It was amazing. Dessert was a shared apple crisp with wiskey vanilla ice cream that was amazing.
Valet parking at no charge was very welcomed by us as you climb up the mountain to the restaurant - you don’t have to worry about ice in heels.
Yes, I would visit again. Many folks told us before hand that the views are exquisite, but arriving after dark in February, we could only visualize in our minds.

Ate there early Monday evening (4:30), by 5:15 pm, lines were forming outside. I've driven by several times, lines are always outside, figured it must be decent food so we stopped in last night. Good food, a little on the pricey side, but good. Service was good also.

First visit to Oh Mai, we tried four of their banh mi sandwiches, spicy chicken, shredded pork, brisket and the rib eye. Each id served on a crusty, French style baguette. The shredded pork was our favorite, but all were delicious. We would definitely visit them again, but maybe try one of their other locations, because the parking at this location is a bit wacky.

Went here with my teenage daughter. Restaurant had a college vibe with the music, seating and service.
We walked in on a Sunday morning and got a table in 2 min (outside with heaters).
Food was crazy fast and solid.
Wait staff could not have been more on it. Refills, attention, payment, etc. I would certainly go back.

With all the hype surrounding Lone Star, I expected it to be better. The food was pretty good. Maybe for SLC these are the best fish tacos...but compared to others I've had elsewhere...nothing special. The place is always jammed and parking is a major hassle...so i expected something special. Any place that charges for water cups gives e the creeps. The staff...not very friendly. The place is decent...but I expected more.

Innovative food, excellent, non obtrusive service, comfortable atmosphere. What more could you want for a lovely dinner?
Valet parking at the hotel really helps, too. Our group raved about the gnocchi, scallops, desserts. We thought the salads were great, too, and my chowder was exceptional. Highly recommended.
