My husband and I were both very impressed with Les Embruns. The situation was excellent – just a short walk from the hotel we were staying in. The interior was bright and colourful, and the welcome was friendly. The dinner menu had a good selection of dishes – I chose the sea bass, and my husband had a Charolais steak. Both were cooked to perfection, and presented well. We finished up with the chocolate fondant. The meal was accompanied with a very good 2011 Chinon red wine.
The only negative point was that two diners had bought dogs into the restaurant with them, and both were a bit noisy at times. We find this often in restaurants in France.
However, overall we were very pleased with our meal, and would recommend this restaurant to others.

I'll make this as simple and as honest as I can. First day out of an 8day stay in La Flotte, we went there, were seated down, as we were waiting for menus another waiter came over to tell us we couldn't be served, we...MoreBla...Bla...Bla...

The restaurant accommodated our large family group. We sat outside in the square so the children could get up and run around between courses. The food was delicious - I had a fab tuna steak - and there were plenty of pizza-choice for the younger members of our party. It was very busy and service did slow as the evening wore on. However - highly recommended.

Very poor service in the restaurant. There was a gap of about 45 minutes between the amuse bouche and our entree, which only arrived after some prompting. The maitre d' didn't seem all that bothered that we had experience very poor service.
Some of the waiting staff seemed disorganised and the wine waiter merely left our wine for us to pour. Usually, I don't mind pouring my wine, but it is customary for the first glass to be poured by the wine waiter.
Overall, very poor service. We would not return to this hotel restaurant.

I remembered eating here a couple of years ago and so hubby and I returned last night. We sat in the back garden area which is all covered and has heaters which is great on a cool evening.
Truly the best meal of the last 3 weeks, and we've had a lot! The fois gras is to die for and the duckling so tender served with tiny potatoes and a lovely salad. Hubby had the steak and it was cooked to perfection along with frites and a salad.
Dessert was the profiteroles which were huge and delicious. The service was perfect and wine selection great. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Also nice that it is tucked on a back street away from all the tourist spots. I would suggest a reservation as it is not large and fills quickly. The open kitchen is spotless.

La Coccinelle is located within walking distance from the St Martin de Re harbour. The menu is renewed on a daily basis according to the fresh products from vegetables, fruits, meat or fish available. All the food served is homemade. Starters combined not only fresh tasty mixed salads but also marinated salmon, and wonderful tasty tarts. For main course you have the choice between a mexican fajita or a vegetarian composition, a tasty meaty stew in winter time, grilled lamb chops, cottage pie or you may choose a "koulibiac". La Coccinelle offers a wide range of cheese but please do not miss the crumptious desserts. You cannot possibly leave the place without trying the "Tarte gourmande"with homemade crispy pastry, toffee and beautiful black chocolate cream. You can go for a divine tiramisu, the lemon tart, the chocolate fudge cake or a melting -in-mouth red velvet cupcake. Choice is yours ! Go for it !
We arrived having made a reservation through a third party which had not been received by the restaurant, however with no fuss although fully booked the patron showed us to a lovely table. We enjoyed a superb home made 3 course meal French/European , great atmosphere , superb food , lovely staff

What can you find wrong with this lovely place?
Maybe the huge prices? ( At 3 euro for one boule it is frighteningly expensive) but the flavours and colours are sublime.
Go to one of the many restaurants, but skip pudding and then join the throngs of happy people eating ice cream by the harbour.
Honestly it is one of the major memories from our repeat holidays in St Martin, and a reason in itself to visit.

Top notch food with friendly service and at a reasonable price is a rarity on Ile de Ré.After many lacklustre culinary experiences on the island, we were lucky to find Les Viviers towards the end of our stay, and ended up dining there two evenings in a row. The place offers top notch albeit traditional local seafood. If you can, go and splash on the blue lobster seafood platter. You'll thank me later. The menu sets are also very satisfying. We had, among other things, an excellent seafood soup, followed by a squid accompanied by a delicate tomato-basil sauce. The cuisine exudes balance and good taste - clearly this chef knows what he is doing. The service is on par: even when it's very busy (as the restaurant invariably gets) the Patronne and her staff remain available and attend to you with a smile and a touch of humour - very pleasant.
Last but not least, the wine list complements the fish and seafood very nicely, and the prices are amazingly reasonable compared to the bulk of Ré establishments...
All in all,very much recommended.

welcome at sushi folie, the unique sushi restaurant on ré island ! have a taste to our creative and original menu, imagined trough our trips around the world. More than the traditionnals sushi, sashimi or maki, you will discover our famous hot rolls, subtles mix of hot and cold, crunchy and melting. An healthy food to degust without moderation !
A very well-thought out and different menu. The sushi is yummy and we were offered the special home-made soya sauce. We had edamame, wakame salad, tuna temaki, salmon skin roll, a very nice saki cocktail after a full days cycling, rainbow roll and the menu enfant plate for my son - salmon maki and salmon sushi. The rice was well-seasoned and at a perfect temperature. Perfect proportioned fish and rice. And it wasn't that expensive. Remember sushi is not meant to be a budget food.
It was the best sushi we have had in France.

Some of the best food we had on the Ile de Re. There's no menu posted, and no choice. Everyone gets the same. On the night we went for dinner, each course was excellent. Salmon to begin with, then cod, and finally a delicious desert of pineapple with caramel sauce. The three of us were given a generous pitcher of red wine along with a generous pitcher of red. All for €35 per person. Just the waitress and the chef on duty - both very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.
