Known mostly through myths about aliens and UFOs, there's more to Roswell than mystery and innuendo. No matter what your interests: archaeological and historical sites, special and sporting events, museums, arts and culture, Roswell is a great place for a weekend jaunt. More than anything, the area offers a multitude of outdoor activities, from bird watching and fishing at the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge to swimming and boating at Bottomless Lakes State Park. Families will love the Spring River Park and Zoo, which features a special fishing lake for children, exotic animals and an antique carousel. There's plenty to do inside as well. The Roswell Museum and Art Center will appeal to anyone with an interest in Southwestern painters like Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth. History enthusiasts will enjoy the Historical Center of Southeast New Mexico, a grand house filled with area antiques, artifacts and a changing gallery of historical exhibits. Of course a visit to Roswell would not be complete without a stop at the International UFO Museum and Research Center, where you can find out what really happened when "something" crashed near Roswell in 1947 or maybe not.

We stopped here on a road trip down to Carlsbad, and we were glad we did. The frozen custard was excellent, and there were really nice tables and benches to sit at. The staff was super friendly. The manager (possibly the owner) took the time...MoreI DO remember you guys with the Alaska plates. I'm really glad you like our place. Lots of people from all over New Mexico tell me they plan their trips around our hours! See you again I hope.

Home of the Burger with the bacon built in!! Chef Toddzilla's Gourmet Burgers uses a special blend of angus and bacon to create their unique burger patty. Keeping with a New Mexico tradition, Chef Toddzilla's green Chile cheeseburger is out of this world but don't just limit yourself to green Chile. The new Christmas Burger features both green and red Chile. The house-made Chorizo Burger features red Chile from Roswell's own Graves Farm and Garden. The patty is a special blend of pork loin, bacon and red Chile guaranteed to add spice to your life. Chef Toddzilla's Gourmet Burgers is a hole in the wall of greatness. Tucked off Main Street in a old school burger house, Chef Toddzilla's has an outdoor patio and drive thru.

Friendly counter personnel, very good latte and pastry. Caught the last of some acoustic music which was nice. A very nice break on the road from TX to Ruidoso.

My daughter and I ate here while visiting Roswell. She got the chicken flatbread and fries, I got the angry hippie sandwich because I don’t eat beef or pork. The party was made of potato and black beans. It was pretty good. The garlic fries are also very good, but very garlicky. My daughter wanted to go back.

This is a great little cafe to get away from chain restaurants. Breakfast service was friendly and attentive. Portions were substantial. The only issue was that I asked for a breakfast burrito with eggs and bacon but no potatoes; it was served with potatoes. We will return when driving through Roswell.

On our way through Roswell we decided to give Los Cerritos a try. It was a Friday night and a bit busy but we were soon seated.
The service was friendly and efficient and the prices very reasonable. The veggie fajitas and Chile relleno were quite large and pretty good. They even offered a local "Alien Amber" since we missed seeing the real deal.

Traveling, and spending the night in Roswell, saw the Cattle Barron and had to stop on. As expected, Excelent! The staff was well trained, courteous, efficient and friendly. Ordered the Filet (requested no bacon) got it! Cooked to perfection, very flavorful. Next time I'm in town I'll see them again.

Peppers Grill & Bar, known to the locals as "Peppers," has been operating for nearly 30 years. We have built a solid reputation on our outstanding guest service standards, our fresh handmade food, and our friendly atmosphere.
Wow. Excellent food, staff, and overall experience. Ribeye (Verde Style with grilled green chili and verde salsa) was out of this world. Diablo Chicken was very moist and delicious. Beef Fajitas seasoned well and tender. If you are in Roswell, you do not want to miss eating at Peppers!

In mood for Asian food and already tried two other places in Roswell. This was the best! Enjoyed spring rolls with a glass of plum wine while waiting for my entree. Had a form of beef with broccoli that was excellent. Asked for medium spiciness - might do mild next time. Wonderful sauce that wasn't a thick, salty mixture so many places serve. Ordered sticky rice ($3 extra for that or brown rice). Visited w owner/chef who is delightful. Would definitely recommend and will return when in area.

Stopped for breakfast. 4th or 5th visit to Martin's. Food was just OK. It came quickly. We remembered it much better. Service after food drop was poor. Asked for refill of coffee twice, both times was told OK, never happened. She was too busy at the back of the room wrapping napkins around silverware. Too bad. Other table across the room had same issue. The ladies bathroom was dirty.... not cluttered... dirty. Floors, walls, sink, toilet. Can't comment on the men's. The bill came at same time as food so we paid cash and split. Other places in Roswell.... we'll try those before going back to Martin's.
