Kaffestugu is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in the old mining town of Roros. Every day we serve generous portions with dinner and lunch based on local produce , homemade sandwiches, cakes and a wide selection of coffee and tea. On the second floor we have the historic and perhaps Grand Est banqueting facilities in Roros.
I visited this location to eat a hamburger since it was recommended. I am glad I went. The hamburger is great, the music is great, the service is great. This a great place to eat and gather with friends.

Farm from 1742 at the very heart of Roros. An exotic experience. Roros lemse (thin, sweet pastry), pjalt (locally baked), waffles, the world’s finest apple cake, sour cream porridge, soup of the day and more. Fully licensed.
A tiny coffee shop having great potential but spoiled by the grumpyness of the waitress/boss, the cold inside (10 degrees), the range of industrial cakes presented on the buffet, and the weird stuff everywhere for sale. The Apple cake is said to be the "verdens best", it's far from but ok. The rømmegrøt is good.

The region's first gastropub. We serve homemade local food as well as some tastes form Southern Europe. We are also known for our home-brewed beer and our own beer-sommelier is happy to match your taste.
Based on the other reviews, this bar must have changed its locations. It's not in a cellar, but inside Vertshuset Røros. They seemed to know everything about the beer they were serving, and the food was excellently prepared and presented. We tasted the cheese plate and the Italian meat plate. They came with locally made butter and bread.
The bar seemed to be popular; we had to wait for tables.
At Roros Hotel. Live music every day except Sundays. Open from 21.00.

Our hotel restaurant is open every evening.
Very cose place with lots of authentic details and a great ambiance. We took the reindeer burger which was perfect! Nicely cooked, tasty bread and excellent fries. The red house wine completed the dish perfectly.
Gallery and café at Hiort-Engan, Galaen. Exhibitions Hiort Engan: One of the most colourful historical figures of Roros was Peder Hiort (1715-1789), director of the Copperworks, church builder, theologian and historian. At his country retreat at Engan by the Glama river he planted a baroque garden, the remains of which can still be enjoyed by visitors. It has tree-lined roads and paths, arbours, Fountains and sculptures, all in carefully arranged symmetry. Also worth a visit is the restored Hiort-church from 1765.

I went a couple of times during my stay, and both meals were good. I had fish and chips for lunch, and a fish dish for dinner the following night, and was well prepared and a good sized meal. About the average price for the area, i.e. not cheap. A nice selection of beers and wine too. Service time was okay. On my second visit I stayed late for the live music, and it was a Norwegian duo singing traditional Irish songs! Had a really nice night, and the place was full. A good place to pop in on a busy tourist street and have decent food in a nice atmosphere with friendly staff.

Informal à la carte restaurant at Roros Hotel offering cuisine based on local produce from the Roros region. Open Mon-Sat 17-22.
A small area of the restaurant is designated as Brasseriet and offers a small Al à carte menu, including a wine list. We were looking forward to s three course meal with their famous local produce. What a disappointment! The carpaccio of hallibut starter was sold out, the Bordeaux we asked for likewise, the reindeer was prepared like a 1980's steak and the other main - monkfish, tasted dry, like it had been in the freezer for months. The tiramisu was made of sponge cake, no coffee liqueur. Service was absent and not very knowledgable, except the female waiter in charge. Absolutely not worth the money. Take te walk down to Main Street Røros instead.

An English-style pub by Bergstadens Hotel, where everybody is welcome.
English-style pub with a wide choice of liqeurs (esp. whisky) and beer.
Live football the whole week. Crowded and lively in the weekends when Premier League is shown, especially when LFC of MUFC plays (the two teams supporterclubs usually gathers here to watch the matches).
0,5 litre of beer for 55 NOK ($10/£6/€8) which is cheapest in Røros.
Clientelle varies from local drunks to youngsters attracted by the cheap beer.

Fresh baker’s products, coffee bar and every type of ice cream.
We stopped in here for a quick treat but wound up purchasing quite a few things . Everything was very tasty and very artfully prepared.
