Ronda’s most striking feature is the Puente Nuevo, which spans a gorge over 300 feet deep. Can you guess when the "new bridge" was built? 1793. That should give visitors an idea of how unchanged Ronda has been over the years. It’s also known as the birthplace of modern bullfighting. The town’s bullfighting ring is only used once a year, at the Feria Goyesca, but it’s also a museum where you can learn about the history of this traditional (yet controversial) sport.

We really liked the idea of a surprise dinner as you don’t know what you will be getting but all was delish. Started with burratta and sun dried tomatoes, roasted asparagus, tomato bread, chicken croquettes, grouper, cod, both fish with grilled veggies, beef steak, potatoes with a goose egg and truffle oil and finally a rich yogurt dessert and also a berry cheesecake type dessert. Did I say huge portions? We’re big eaters and we were stuffed! Friendly and sweet service, obviously a family restaurant. 2 types of tinto, both nice. Go there!

Carmen la de Ronda had some great reviews on Tripadvisor, and was also recommended by our hotel, so we paid a visit on our 1st night in Ronda. The restaurant is in a lovely, old, peaceful square in the old town with tables outside to enable you to soak up the atmosphere. When we arrived all outside tables were occupied but the waiter disappeared inside to get another table, found 2 chairs and set us up a new spot. That level of helpful and courteous service remained throughout our meal and it felt a very personal, family orientated establishment. The clientele were a nice mix of tourists and locals, always a good sign.
For starters we had the boquerones and for mains we shared the squid rissoto with black ink and the grilled octopus washed down with a bottle of the local white wine. Both of the mains were incredibly tasty but the octopus was simply stunning, fresh, perfectly grilled and garnished and the finest I have tasted to date. Being so full we skipped the pudding but had some expresso’s and were served some complimentary liqueurs.
For starters, 2 mains, a bottle of wine and some coffee’s the total Bill was around €70 which was an incredible value given the quality of the food. Highly recommended!

Nice Spanish restaurant. Friendly and attentive service at this small cosy restaurant in the old part of Ronda. We had some amazing starters, the fried goat cheese with fig confit was to die for! Very good platter with ham and cheese. Good garlic bread.
Mains were good, however the veg one was a little too sweet for my taste. All and all a nice dinner. Would definitely return!

The good: 1. The extra virgin olive oil topped with volcanic salt served with the typical bread you get at most restaurants, cost €2.4 2. Two small sherry aperitif, gratis on the House, they seem to bring this to everyone, if you are into overly...MoreSentimos no haber acertado con usted en ningún plato, estamos acostumbrados a que todos los clientes escriban buenas opiniones, un saludo.

We ended up coming here by chance and the food was outstanding. We ordered the ronda sausage in red wine sauce and chicken, soba noodles with sesame. Both the dishes were outstanding and we really relished the food. It's a cute place and missed by a lot of people. More for the locals and we are glad we are here! Will visit again

Small tapas restaurant with a nice atmosphere. And modern tapas fusion andalusian, basque, with a nice prices. English speaking and different tapas all days. Full Sunday closed .Not bar service.
Luckily we came across this liitlegem of a place unexpectedly. Thank goodness we did.The tapas selection is outstanding. The ox cheeks were so tender, the asparagus with parmesan is still making my mouth water. We had about 12 different dishes between 4 of us, every one equally brilliant.
The owner made us so welcome, especially my one year old granddaughter.
Can't wait to return.

We visited Ronda on a day trip and were allocated an hour for lunch. We found this gorgeous Tapas restaurant in the main square. The food was superb, very reasonably priced and great quick service. highlight were the mini Chorizo burgers. Wish we'd ordered more of them.
It really is authentic tapas with a great view of everything happening in the square.
Well worth a visit and don't be frightened thinking it may be expensive, many dishes cost the equivalent of a packet of Walkers crisps!

Establishment located in the heart of the historic quarter of Ronda . Restaurant with a welcoming interior and a Terrace on pedestrian street . Cuisine prepared with fresh products and of the highest quality with a touch of air-garde . The service with good customer relations .
Lovely little tapas bar with delicious food. Had we known there were complimentary bread, olives & crudités we might not have ordered so much! Enjoyed four tapas dishes- Serrano ham, scallop & salmon, gambas pil pil & tortilla. Unfortunately there was no paella available on the day we went but that just means we will have to go back. Then they brought complimentary cake for dessert & 2 bottles of water for our journey home! Friendly & efficient service & great food at reasonable prices make this a great little tapas bar

The flower of the orange and lemon trees that are in the Andalusian Gardens gives its name to the restaurant, after a very extensive windows, is integrated into a landscape of Mountains of legend. International cuisine and traditional, where the Andalusian and Mediterranean cuisine bind, dominate a wide and select menu where local and seasonal products hold preferred locations. The Azahar restaurant offers a new and original gastronomic space inspired by the Andalusian cuisine combined with a few subtle touches of international cuisine. Traditional dishes with presentations that will surprise you made an attractive offer that comes complete with innovative dishes that will delight the most discerning dinner.
We really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant - the menu, whilst not large, was varied and well designed.
This restaurant is small ( seats about 25) and is part of a large hotel, unsure why it didn't include any outside Seating as the weather would permit?
Whilst the ambiance was not a strong point, however the food was!
The grilled vegetables and mixed croquettes we shared were delicious . The suckling pig also a standout.
One very capable maitre'd/waitress looked after the whole restaurant with almost no assistance from other staff .... it seemed odd that in a hotel of this size and a restaurant of this quality that this should be the case.
Definitely worth a visit.
