We have gone to spyros many times including happy hour and fine cuisine! We went for a birthday celebration! Of course the drinks were excellent! Steaks were not cooked as ordered! The shrimp scampi was dry! There fine cuisine prices are expensive for just a main dishes! No sides are included at all! The waitress though was outstanding!! I wish I remembered her name! We were very surprised! We will try again but this time their happy hour and see if there are any changes.

Upon entering this restaurant you first pass by the fresh fish cases, including some delightful looking prepared takeout dishes. The atmosphere was serene, with tables covered in white tablecloths set against very pale blue wainscoat, oversized black and white photos having to do with fishing and fish markets, and multiple small bulbs on delicate looking fixtures providing soft light. This walk to our table for 3 was to be the best part of the evening! Service was extremely slow, especially given that there were no more than 4 tables of diners. The bread was served with spiced olive oil. The olive oil was very tasty, but the bread, which had been mildly toasted, was cold to the touch and Was not fresh. The salads were quite good and the lettuce tasted very fresh. We waited a very long time for our dinner plates after the salad. Not once did our waiter come to our table to ask anything at all. The young woman who removed our salad plates simply picked them up and walked away along with the bread and olive oil, not bothering to ask if we were done. After what seemed like ages, our meals were brought; 2 of the fish and chips with fresh green beans, and the third of breaded tilapia. The fish and chips were supposed to be beer battered cod. It was so incredibly greasy and overlooked that my plate had a layer of oil from pressing on the gathered fish with the back of my fork. A small part of the batter was burned black. The tilapia looked nice but was mostly mundane and tasteless as well as greasy. I did not eat my meal beyond the first bite because of the oiliness. My dinner partners did, and I heard from both this morning that they did not have a good night due to stomach upset. I returned my fish and chips stating that it was way too oily and it was taken off the bill. As we were leaving the restaurant, we saw in the take out case of prepared food, the very same beer battered cod, ready to be purchased, taken home and reheated. We looked at each other and immediately knew that our fish and chips had already been cooked and no doubt thrown in the fryer to reheat...thus, accounting for the greasiness and very mushy consistency of the cod itself. This was my 4th visit in 3 years, and most likely I won't return. Perhaps it is the seemingly vibrant bar crowd that keeps this place going. I for one will not repeat my visit.

"The Most Romantic Restaurant on Long Island" - NY Times Praised by Zagat Survey for its "superb culinary artistry," La Plage is one of Long Island's premier dining destinations, set in a gorgeous beach-front location offering both indoor and terrace seating.
The setting is lovely, low key and welcoming. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The Prix fixe at lunch is an excellent buy with a glass of nice wine available for only $3.00 more. Each of our selections was excellent and presented beautifully. The rolls were also noteworthy. Kelly, our server was thoughtful, friendly and skilled. We were looking for a waterfront setting and this was prefect.

This is a nice cozy place in Sound Beach...we had omelettes....mine was grilled onions..mushrooms...spinach...grilled Turkey in a egg white omlett...very large and delicious....my wife had a spinach and feta omlette...again ..delicious...we started off with the corn beef hash...and while it was not the best we had ..it was very different...more of a potato...corn beef and onion mix not mashed up...but in large pieces....this place was a change of pace for us and we enjoyed the change. If you enjoy breakfast out..this is worth giving a try.

Cash only but you can bring your own alcohol. Went for restaurant week. The steak was good but the chicken was meh. You can tell it's an old historical house turned into a restaurant. The food didn't wow me. Parking is a nightmare

We hadn't been here in years...in fact not since its renovation into sushi and hibachi steakhouse. We sat on the dining room side so we didn't have the full experience but everything we had was delicious. The presentation and service were excellent.

Without a doubt, Wasabi is absolutely my favorite restaurant within miles of my home in Mount Sinai. The sushi is fresh and remarkable and the hibachi tables usually draw a huge crowd and remain a family favorite. The restaurant has the "trendy" look that you usually find in Manhattan without the inflated prices that usually have to be tolerated to enjoy this fine a dining experience.

For over 36 years, Sea Basin has continued to rise above the tide with its winning Italian and seafood recipes, excellent service and cozy surroundings.
We went back to this restaurant after not being here for many years. The food was ok, especially the stuffed lobster and mussels marinara. The rest of our dinners, stuffed flounder and steak was mediocre at best. Not tasty. The service was ok, the staff nice. I think they need to up their game to what this restaurant once was, excellent. Too bad, it used to be really, really good.
