Just north of I-10 at Exit 87 is Chef Roy’s Frog City Cafe. We sat at the bar to watch the Eagles/Falcons playoff game. The owner, Robert Credeur, made us feel welcome with a complimentary appetizer of fried oysters, frog leg and gator bites. I ate the oysters which were delicious and my husband enjoyed the frog leg and gator bites. Our main courses were the crawfish duo and redfish. Both were equally delicious. A great find in Frog City. Will definitely be back when we visit this area again!

Fresh donuts, bear claws, and cinnamon rolls every morning. And the best King Cakes around. And they'll make you a King Cake any time you want one with a couple days notice. Fresh coffee as well if you want to enjoy your treat inside the place. Plenty of seating space and the place is really clean. Very friendly staff.

It was really cute with nostaligic items around the room (including several versions of candyland came on display from different time periods). Snowcones were way too sweet. We threw them away. Lots of silly candies kids would love like cand mustaches and different Jelly Belly dispensers. Those "World's largest Gummy bears" that they advertise on billboards on the highway...some $50..thanks but no thanks. I enjoyed the dark chocolate cappucino truffle I got.

It is a little out of the way and the place looks kind of run down but they serve the best Crawfish I have ever experienced. They raise their own and have a special cleansing process the Crawfish go through before they are ready to be served. You can get a three or five pound platter and there are different levels of spice available. Be sure and get a Margarita while waiting on the platter. They are only open during Crawfish season and have limited hours so check before you go.

On January 30, 2015 we stopped here for lunch. One person from the staff was horrible. We were talking among ourselves as we were walking into the restaurant. One of the employees asked "are you talking to me?". We said we weren't. Nothing disrespectful to or about this employee was said. She simply decided to start screaming at us like a banshee. Well, after some words were said, it goes without saying we didn't eat here. Good riddance.

We tried Gabe's based on recommendations of friends. We were not disappointed. This place is clearly a local favorite. This is a walk-up fast food place. The food is freshly prepared and comes served nice and hot. We tried their grilled shrimp po-boy sandwich which was delicious.

My husband just found out about this place a few weeks back, so we decided to try it for lunch. He went online to read reviews and found one negative referring to the roast beef poboy being "dry and greasy". All other review seemed to be good.
So the place is easy to find, right off I-10, lots of parking, easy access.
The place is appropriately decorated, and spacious.
The cushions in the booth we sat in has seen way better days and should be replaced. Quite uncomfortable.
Waitress was super nice and answered all our questions. I think her name was Maya. (Not sure of spelling)
Going against the "bad review", I ordered the roast beef poboy. My husband thought I was crazy! My thought was, worse case scenario, I'll send it back. We also ordered a hamburger, onion rings, fried pickles and sweet potato fries and my husband got iced tea.
Fried pickles came out first and we're not salty like others I've had. Good flavor and plenty for the money.
Next came the food.
My poboy wasn't what I was expecting. Generally places use "sliced deli roast beef", but this was "real roast beef". It was extremely tender, cut just right and had an awesome flavor. This was probably the best I've ever had.
Hamburger was big and well seasoned, as well as onion rings (hand battered not beer battered which is hard to find. )
Bathroom was super cute, and clean! ( I have this thing about cute, clean bathrooms!)
All in all, excellent- great portion sizes for the price, excellent service. Definitely will return.
Now, I do have three negatives:
1: the smell of smoke coming in from the casino next door is strong. May want to invest in better filtration system.
2: I ordered roast beef without gravy (they put gravy in top normally)
And while it was very good, my bottom piece of bread was still soggy. (I hate soggy bread) not sure how they can fix that, but I'll find out next visit. On the hamburger, the bottom bun was soggy as well.
3: when the front door opens, the "chime" is a screeching, nail biting sound, that doesn't go off until the door is closed, which can take some time. They really should change/fix that. It's quite annoying.

I stopped for lunch because it was across from a cheap fuel stop (Valero).
I was greeted in a very pleasant way, sat at truck stop style counter and enjoyed an enormous bowl of delicious gumbo loaded with real seafood.
I returned the next night on my way back for the advertised seafood buffet but opted for a frog leg special instead.
I'm pleased with having found this place which will be a regular stop when I get down around there.

We have visited this establishment regularly for many years. Although they have the typical Chinese dishes on the buffet, the thing that sets Galaxy apart is that all the dishes actually taste different. How many Chinese restaurants have you been to where they use the SAME sauce on EVERYTHING!! Not so at Galaxy. They also have an a la carte menu and I highly recommend the shrimp egg foo yung. Mr. Tom and Ms. Helen are great people to know as well.

This restaurant has great food for wonderful prices. The three owners were there when we visited and they take personal time to visit with their guests.
The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. I tried 4 of the appetizers just to get an idea of how they do on different items. My wife had shrimp. Everything on our table was wonderful.
It is worth the time to make a drive out to 3 Peas in a Pod. We will be back SOON!!!
