Steak Pizza & Grill House Southern Thai food & European Restaurant
4.5 based on 18 reviews
The food at his place is all way through good, if not excellent. Yet, prices are partly even higher than in Europe, and portions sort of 'homoeopathic'.
Besides, the atmosphere is 'special' too - you can/must watchTV with Thai soaps blaring away at high volume (wishes to reduce volume are accepted, but visibly not welcome, sadly their smile dissapears with the noise).
Should you sit at the road side of the restaurant, you'll be entertained by countless vehicles and their 'music', save their fumes.
whichever way the owner could manage to learn cooking quite authentic and excellent Italian food,
the chapter about European hospitality - he must regretfully have missed it, not even 1 glass of water, even if asked for, will get to your table for free, no matter how much you are going to consume, or how much you suffer from the heat, hardly eased with just 3 fans.
It still is one of the best pizzas I had in Thailand, but the best one - in another city - was not only much better, but (same size and about the same amount of toppings) also some 45% cheaper, and to put things right - served in a nice atmosphere at an airconditioned quiet place.
There is huge space for improvement to make 'Buono' a really worthwhile place.

Kunlin Restaurant Ranong Seafood Hot Spring Thaifood Freshcoffee
I had dinner here one night and wish I hadn't. It was the only place near the hot springs that was open at the time, so I didn't feel like I had a lot of choice. I ordered the papaya salad with shrimp and crab. The seafood didn't taste fresh. The shrimp were old and hard. I think there was something seriously wrong with the food, as later that night I woke up and felt sick, probably due to food poisoning.

I don't know how she does it - perhaps it's the magic marinade, the way she gingerly fans the flames to produce the perfect low and slow temperature, or just a mama's love, but this is the juiciest, most flavorful piece of chicken you will ever eat. Unlike other grilled chicken stands where the flavor is only skin deep, every tender morsel of Mama's chicken is packed with flavor. She often has specials that are not on the menu, so be sure to check with her when you order.
Chicken Mama is one of the sweetest ladies you will meet on the island. Her English is very strong, so be sure to strike up a conversation. She is full of gems! She is a one woman show, so be prepared with patience if you are there during peak times. It is well worth the wait!

Was looking for a western breakfast in Ranong and was recommended this place by reviews online and our hotel. The 'American Breakfast' was really poor and included far too much butter and salt. Could not eat it, but the price was very cheap (80 baht). Had an iced thai tea which was nice.
Came back in the evening and had some beers, can't fault the service and of course bottled beer, nothing can go wrong!

If you have a sweet tooth, you will love 209 coffee. The counter will make you drool over a cheese cake, brownie or delicious waffles with home made whipped cream. yum! To go along with these delis, you an choose from many coffees, smootlies, shakes and teas.
209 coffee is the best stop for a delicious break and the owner is always welcoming and smiley and speaks a great English!

We were in Ranong and checked TripAdvisor to see where to eat. We wanted local Thai food and didn't want to pay too much - J&Ts was absolutely perfect! The waiter spoke pretty good English and made suggestions. Everything in the extensive menu looked good so we pigged out and ordered 4 things for the 2 of us - there was nothing left when we had finished. I can honestly say that it was some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten anywhere, and the price is ridiculously cheap. 4 meals and 2 drinks came in at 425 THB. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Don't think about it - go!
