Four of us had just flown into Paris from the US and were meeting my college roommate from London for dinner. She and her husband had checked out Le Villa Marinette in tiny Gazeran the night before, and found it good enough to return the next night. We were early (7:30PM) and the restaurant was nicely quiet. The table for 6 was perfect for conversing, and the dinner was so good, we never noticed the room filling up as the evening went on. We were brought complimentary Kir as we started along, with a lovely plate of mixed hor d'oeuvres - also complimentary. Some of us had excellent fish, served with fresh, seasonal asparagus, some beef, some veal...every selection was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The menu changes seasonally. We saved room for dessert, and the complimentary little sweets, and enjoyed each selection. If we were staying longer, we would return! Perfect service, food, ambiance, and appropriate cost. So much nicer than a crowded Paris restaurant!

They have a "Carte/Menu" for 37 euro
We have shared between me and my wife the dishes.
- To start delicious "Foie Gras" and "Raw Tuna", very nice
- Main dish "Beef filet" and "Lote", very nice too
- Desert "tarte fine pomme et rhubarb" and "moelleux au chocolat", may be the best "moelleux au chocolat" I had
The service is very friendly and quite rapid
We drunk a Pineau Noir that was a bit expensive but very nice (33€)
Ask to be seated in the "arm chair area", very confortable

After yet another fine meal at Le Punjab, I felt compelled to leave a review.. Especially after seeing phrases like "bland" and "not good value for money" being bandied about.
The food is much more delicately spiced than you'll find in UK restaurants, but it certainly doesn't suffer for it.
The one minor fault is that it can be tricky to have enough elbow-room at some of the tables. But that wouldn't happen if it wasn't so popular!
Service is great. Food is fresh and delicious. Definitely my favourite resto in Rambouillet.

We stayed in the hotel next door - as there were a few tables taken in this restaurant we decided to try it. Lovely decor. Very friendly. Food a la carte is excellent although very good value if you can find a starter and main course you like on the set menu.
Would come back ;)

One of the reasons we ate here is because I was able to book a table online through LaFourchette.com at home and the gets a high rating among different sites. The online booking makes things a lot easier since my french is not that good.
The restaurant has a space inside a kind of greenhouse of a similar size attached to it. We weren't sure where to sit as we were apperently quite early (19.30) on a Friday. The other guest started to arrive from 20.00 onwards an all went straight for the greenhouse thing. So if you like to sit among other people - like we do - you know what to do.
If you like seafood then this is definitely a place for you. They have an excellent choice of fish and platters. We shares a platter with mussels, clams, lobster, crab, shrimps and snails which was delicious and plenty for the both of us. We also had starters, got a fantastic amuse and desert was also wonderful. The only I was hoping for was a little more support from the waitress a to what would be the best wine to drink with the seafood.
All in all great dinner but too bad all the other guest went to the other room. The staff could've supported us a bit more perhaps here.
We stayed in Rochefort-en-Yvellines by the way, which makes it easy to reach and find. The restaurant also has a private parking area.

Nous y étions à deux dimanche soir. Seules dans le restaurant. Service beaucoup trop lent. Beaucoup de clients qui prenaient à emporter. Tout est fait à la demande.

Take a savoury galette or a sweet crepe and pile on your favourite ingredients from a bewildering number of menu options. Served with a smile by a waiter whose brother lives in Ilford and priced very reasonably. They could do with air conditioning!

The answer is yes and yes again. Good honest food made with quality ingredients, in particular Tuna, Foie Gras, Haddock en cocotte and market fish, along with some decent wines. we ate there twice over the weekend as the informal atmosphere was so welcoming. The two lads at front of house were efficient and welcoming working like beavers to ensure satisfaction; naturally they complemented the kitchen staff who did some lovely cooking. Be sure to get a reservation as it gets busy, more importantly be sure to go and enjoy this restaurant.

This is the only restaurant in France which serves escargots without utensils (especially the needed pincher to hold the escargot). We both burned our finders trying to eat them. The chef has decided that we should eat them without the pinchers. My husband was furious and they were impossible to eat. Bring Americans here and they would sue the restaurant.
Also he has downgraded the pastis, the favorite aperitif of the French in summer. The place is very pretty but the chef should be replaced.
