Around a third of the tables enjoy an excellent view out over the river. On Valentines night they were extremely busy but the very energetic and hard working Staff handled everything in a most professional way. I had the creamy fish soup and it was absolutely beautiful. It was subtly flavoured and enhanced by a chef who really understood flavours. The Chicken Liver Parfait (pate) with onion jam was very good but lacked finesse. The accompanying slices of toasted sourdough bread were a bit too rustic in my view. The bread far too thick and inelegant for a dish of this nature but it wasn't not a deal killer. Sadly my wife's "Classic Fish and Chips" were really ordinary and downmarket for a restaurant of this calibre. The batter on the fish was flaccid and the chips were fairly soft and flavourless. I'm sure the kitchen in this restaurant has the skills to do far better fish and chips.

The hotel is a bit dated and could do with an overhaul. Food was not too bad but just average pub food. The smokers get the best view outside. There was an entertainer the night we were there. He was average but his followers enjoyed listening to him.

One of the few fish & chip venues that cook your fish ONCE. One of the best feeds I have had, normally I cook my own. Service was slower than normal but a properly cooked fillet takes longer. Nice tables overlooking the harbour. Keep it up.

Bow St Depot offers smoked Texas style BBQ in a Al fresco family dining setting in the heart of beautiful Raglan, teamed with carefully selected wine and beers to tantalize your taste buds. We also have a sand pit play area for children and some of their favorite meals.
We waited for over an hour for small sixteen dollar burgers. They didn't even come with chips.
Also they didn't have any vege burgers left, so two of us had to opt for the vege nachos, which unfortunately even though we asked for them to be dairy free, they still come out with cheese on them.
Over all a very disappointing dinner. We went straight to McDonald's afterwards.

Been the best for many years. Can't beat the raglan bakery! I recommend the chicken avocado Sandwich with white bread. So fresh and delicious every time!

Healty, Home Made and Yummy Italian Food
Funky little cafe on the road to Whale Bay, Wainui Reserve and Karioi, and one of our favourite places after a beach visit. They serve good pizza, cakes and slices, and have a great range of gelato. Coffee is always good and still just $3 for a flat white. Love their smoothies, and their veges juices are superb. There are seats and tables on the sunny deck, or squashy old and comfortable sofas inside. Great casual vibe. Smart service.

Delicious food and great coffee. We went for brunch. My husband and I shared almond french toast with bacon and banana (a kiwi classic, but done so well) and Avo on toast with smoked tomatoes and mushrooms (delicious!). Obviously a popular spot, Rock-it was busy but despite this the service was very good and our food arrived quickly. Impressed by the outdoor space for kids to play and like that dogs are welcome. Looking forward to another meal here before we leave Raglan. The lunch menu looks great.

Brown Lightning says the T-shirt, which has sold out. This tiny cafe in a downtown Raglan alley-way is one of the best places for a superb cuppa Joe. Nuff said!

I had romantic memories of this hotel from many years ago. Sadly, it seems like it’s now just a bog standard pub. The food was nice but not striking, though the service was delightful. I also thought it was pretty over priced. One major plus was that the kids menu wasn’t just chicken nuggets and fried stuff (although they do appear) and our daughter enjoyed a tasty hand made pizza.
