We took a taxi from downtown, though you could walk it in 20-30 minutes. Smallish food selection but each dish exquisitely prepared. We were four and we had both fish and pork dishes which were all great. I will not describe them in detail, since the menus changes regularly, we had the in house daily prepared ice cream, today "Frutos Rojos" red fruits...with yoghurt which was light and not too sweet,,a clear winner. Price was good, we did nit sample the wines, but stuck to beer to keep the price down, this restaurant is a winner

You do not believe it when you see it from outside. But the food is of high class. Stylish and elegant serving. Nice and fast staff. Their sweet bread was amazing in terms of both taste and presentation

Close to the excellent and bilingual Equiberia riding school and the fledgling tourist resort of Hoyos del Espino on the north side of the Gredos Mountains, this rural restaurant set above the main road with views over the valley produced a very fine meal.
Whether salad, gazpacho, roast meats or puddings, everything was delicious and served in a friendly manner. The busy other tables told their own story - this is a well known local haunt, just little known by the rest of us! If you are holidaying in central Spain, or looking for a weekend away from Madrid, Hoyos seems a place well worth investigating for its outdoor activities of hiking, riding, as well as its spa - and putting weary feet up here for a fine meal after.

In the anciant bishop´s palace. Beside Avila´s walls in Cathedral Square. For 150 costumers. Fix prize menu with traditional castillian food from 12 euro. Our speciallity: Typical Avila´s white beans soup, castillian soup, spicy Avila potatoes and the great Avila´s veal Chop. We offer typical homemade Paella and an assorted number tapas.
We had a touristic menu which consisted of different traditional Castillian specialties (chuletón, sopa castellana, patatas meneás, ...). Everything was good and tasty, but not exceptional. The waitress was very attentive and nice, and we got our food after a short while.

The chef is outstanding and you can find a broad menu (including a very good menu of the day). She is a specialist in bacalao (cod) dishes (you can find multiple recipes), although any course is a winner. Even the desserts are outstanding!
The service is polite and attentive.
I've come back many times and will do it again.

Although overly decorated with antiques from all places and ages, this is one of the best places in the area to eat roasted lamb or sucking pig. The service is as good as the food. Mad Malasaña highly recommends this place if you’re in the area or on your way to the north.
An elegant and decent lady spoke to us on the street and wanted to show us their restaurant. Normally we would not go into things like this, but her story was promising and inside we could see not only families but also business lunches took place there.
We decided to go in, instantly we were spotted and seeded by our waiter, a man wearing a tuxedo (FYI it was +/-30°C outside)
As we were on a culinary roadtrip only local food and wines was what we desired.
Suckling pig it was, accompanied by a beautiful red wine Tamaral (Tempranillo, Ribera del Duero)
We were enjoying our pitstop to the max. The food was terrific and together with the atmosphere of this place it made it instantly a moment not to forget.
Could recommend this place to anybody looking for great local food and good atmosphere.
(Thanks for the book Javier!)

If you are looking for a modern, refine, up class restaurant, you are in the wrong place. But if you want typical Spanish food, unpretentious but solid in taste and well executed, you are in the right place. We had "croquetas", which were delicious, and "pimientos del piquillo rellenos", a delight. Mention apart, the meat. They mature it for several weeks depending on the kind and the taste and texture is beautiful. I read some comments about the lack of English understanding ability by the staff. Yep, Spain in general does not speak English and this restaurant is an example. I get the frustration of not understanding each other and that sometimes this can cause misconceptions, but the staff was professional and friendly. They were very nice to us.

Decided to try this after seeing the comments on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. It exceeded our expectations on all accounts. Although it already has a lot of favorable reviews I have to write another as a complement this restaurant. It deserves top marks ...
The menu is a nice selection of the region's specialties. Since we had a small group we decided to order different dishes to try a bit of everything. It was all delicious. Portion sizes are generous. The 3 course menu will satisfy the most voracious appetites.
The roast leg of lamb is prepared to perfection in the typical method for the region. Crisp on the outside and juicy and tender inside. The meat literally falls of the bone. A hint of rosemary is an outstanding complement to the natural taste.
The house wine was a pleasant surprise: very nice.
Service was flawless

I tried padel league for the first time this month, and found that it was easily one of the best restaurants I've eaten in.The surroundings were modern, yet it still felt cosy and airy. The waiters were welcoming and informative. As I was eating with a party of eight, we managed to sample a good range of items on the menu, and between us couldn't find a single item that wasn't satisfying and delicious. All th3 ingredients were clearly fresh and of the highest quality and in ky opinion the seafood was particularly tasty. We felt that we were given very good value for money because the price is very reasonable. All of us would highly recommend this restaurant and we will no doubt be back for many more lunches!
