Club Pioneer has been a Prineville Tradition since 1942. It don't matter so much how long a ride you have as how well you ride it. Always go after life as if it's something that's got to be roped in a hurry before it gets away. No matter where you're riding to, we look forward to celebrating your life's journey. ~Jim Roths/Proprietor
We enjoyed our visit here; upscale atmosphere, varied menu, and very professional and friendly service made it a perfect choice while visiting Prineville. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and tender, the sides were large and satisfying, and the cost was reasonable.

I love their classic cheese burger, but this time I think the patty had been hanging out way too long. The edges were extremely dry and tasteless. Too bad because this has been one of the best values for a hamburger.

This has to be the best little coffee drive thru in Prineville! They always make it just right and with a smile to boot! Thanks girls, we'll be back

All good, relaxed people, nice bar, good food (Burger and Pulled Pork Sandwich are great), attentive service, Beer on tap, obviously also a locals favorite. Open kitchen (= they show what they do). Only a little drawback – the extraction is not strong enough and so the kitchen smell sticks in your cloths.

This is not how they typically are in this location, but this morning they were busy stocking things and getting drinks/food for drive-thru. I stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledge or even to get a 'good morning'. Their focus wasn't on customers in the store. It almost felt as if everyone else thought someone else was waiting on me.
Finally got my drink and they were out of 1/2 & 1/2. Tried to get the eye of one of the baristas, but finally left the canister on the counter and walked out. Very strange.

One side is the counter-style service area, the other side is booth seating. Extensive menu for such a small diner. Burgers were good, fries were fresh but very greasy. Dessert was fantastic - listed as marionberry cobbler, it also had blueberries or huckleberries in it and came with soft-served ice cream YUM!

Hidden gem. Great traditional breakfasts. Excellent sourdough pancakes. Lunch has great burgers and fries. All reasonably priced.
Sadly, the best breakfast place in Prineville has closed ... space is up for lease/sale. They had the best sourdough pancakes which the owner lovingly kept active over many years. A no-nonsense place that will be sorely missed.

Locally owed and operated all food is prepaired from sratch in house from our dresings to our meat and every thing inbetween
First, the best thing about our meal was Tammy. She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and was gracious when dealing with a couple of hiccups. She ensured that our dishes arrived in a timely manner and cleared dishes before others arrived. Tammy is a reason to eat here.
Now, onto our evening. We started off outside for cocktails and appetizers before moving inside for dinner. Ten cocktails and four appetizers. They need a new bartender. The lemon drop was the worst. Vodka with lime juice ... no simple syrup, no sugar rim. We had to send it back. And the grey goose vodka WASN'T grey goose and the tonic was flat. A premier steakhouse has to have good cocktails and good meat. They fell down on the cocktails. Appetizers were good: garlic brie, onion rings, and apple/cranberry brie.
Inside, two more cocktails and two bottles of wine. Wine selection is sorely lacking for a steakhouse and they didn't show any prices for whole bottles. Suggest you bring your own wine. And, with a bill over $300, you shouldn't be charged a corking fee.
Finally, the meat dishes were much better than on our previous visit. Perfectly cooked prime rib, excellent filet mignon, great rub on the ribeye and tender, flavorful whiskey chicken all were excellent. The pound of green-lipped mussels were just OK ... BUT this is a steakhouse, so fish and seafood is always questionable.
We sat at a rounded-corner type booth with tables that were way too low. If they could raise the tables or custom make a table for that section, it'd be great.
So, drinks were a D; food was a B+, wine selection was a C-, steaks were an A and Tammy was an A+. If they could up their game and get consistent in all areas, they'd rival the other steakhouse in town.

We stopped at the Ochoco Brewing Company after our annual trek to the Oregon Star Party, which is is in the Ochoco National Forest, about 40 miles from Prineville. The Ochoco Brewing Company provided us with cold beers, (good selection!) some very good salads followed up by large plates of pasta. I had the pasta with bacon in it, very filling and it tasted great. It is not a fancy place, which is just what we needed. Men's bathroom needed to be cleaned up a bit, but according to my friend's wife, the women's rest room was just fine.
We will gladly return next year to the OBC.

Order everything at counter including beers...includes taste testing so it can back up with only 2 stations...food is pizza which was above average ingredients but dough slightly undercooked. Better night time bar than food place but doesn't offer anything but beer. Pool and games for kids and diversions. Outside Thai food truck is another option.
