Originally planned as a barony of the young Prince Albert, who would never live to see its fruition, the present resort community of Princeville is nothing less than regal with its emerald cliffs overlooking magnificent Hanalei Bay. Two championship golf courses offer challenging fairways and unsurpassed views over the ocean. The coastline is a magical mixture of natural beauty and careful landscaping, with pristine beaches, lush vegetation, crystalline waterfalls and sapphire waters.

When we checked in the hostess loudly announces we are there for a birthday dinner.
What happened to the little element of surprise at dessert time? But fine, whatever.
The setting is amazing, the food was really good, expensive, but one of the better meals I had on the island. Our waiter was super friendly and made sure we had a family picture taken with the best views. I think the issues we ended up having had more to do with the kitchen than the waiter.
After our dinner main course was served, things started to fall a part. Our dirty dishes sat there for over 10 minutes. When our waiter came back, the kids ordered dessert and I had assumed that my dessert that came with the pre-fix menu and my husband's bday dessert would all come at the same time. Nope. Kids get dessert, another 10+ minutes go by and nothing. At this point we had been there for an hour and 45 minutes, kids are exhausted, so I ask for the check and my dessert in a box. Check comes, my dessert comes in a box and a piece of cake gets delivered for my husband on a plate with a very rushed apology. No offer to take the desserts off our bill. We threw it in the box and left. The hole in the wall mexican place up the street from my house gets this right for 1/8th of the price. Such a shame that our night ended so poorly.

This is a bustling, delicious coffee house centered in gorgeous Princeville! I enjoyed one of the arguably most delicious eggs Benedict in the world (half orders available and are great)!!! The Macchiato was outstanding and served with love topped with a frothy flower design! The staff were super delightful, and the outside seating area couldn’t be more inviting. Full breakfast served until 11, so get there early for the best selection!

The best thing about this place is that it is right next to Foodland the only grocery store near Princeville. The people are very pleasant and the shave ice acceptable with the option of ice cream on the bottom. It's hard to go wrong with shave ice on a hot day.

This is a grocery store with bakery, sushi bar, coffee bar, as well as the usual grocery items. It is much larger and more comprehensive than it appears from the outside. We are staying 1 week in a nearby time share condo and needed to stock up for breakfast/snack food. We are leaving dinners open for dining out, but if we decide to dine in, they have a great prepared foods area. We'll just take home and eat. It will be cheaper than dining out. Our resort gave us the membership key card so we could save money like the locals. Still, it is a bit expensive - everything on the island is, but reasonable considering you are in paradise.

Hanalei's Sweet Spot can be found at Pink's Creamery! Over 17 delicious Gourmet Ice Creams to choose from, House-Made Sorbet and Dairy-Free/Vegan ice cream. Our smoothies are made with 1/2 lb. of fruit (locally sourced when in-season/available) and we'll customize yours however you'd like! Our extra thick milkshakes made from any ice cream flavor or combination of flavors...and yes...we have malt! Our Hawaiian Grilled Cheese is what made us famous: Kalua pork, muenster cheese and pineapple served on Hawaiian sweet bread and grilled to a golden perfection! Maui chips and pickles on the side. Each sandwich is made to order and we can make it without the Kalua pork or even without the pineapple to suit individual tastes. Feel free to call us if you want to put in a food order :) Pink's has been under new ownership since May of 2013. We have some exciting future plans so keep checking in! Aloha! Robert and Joleen
Sweet sensations! This has often been out go to place after dinner. The ice cream is always so fresh and flavorful. Vanilla mac nut is a great choice. I also want to stop for lunch to try the Hawaiian Grilled Cheese.

Kauai Grill is a comfortable yet elegant hideaway with sweeping views of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai. The seasonal menu is composed of a wide selection of hand-crafted dishes created from flavors found here on the Garden Island of Kauai with the highest quality of meats and freshest local fish available. Simply grilled preparations accompanied by bold condiments anchor the Kauai Grill experience at The St. Regis Resort Princeville.
We are travelers in retirement much as we were in our working days. We’re used to fine dining whether there are Michelin stars or not. We’ve eaten at two starred Michelin restaurants in Paris, a few three starred places outside and we’ve seen exceptional service and meals.
That’s not a boast. It’s just to establish our basis for saying this was a superb restaurant. Our waiter, Frank, was more than you could ask for in enjoying a meal. There’s a pleasant negotiation or conversation between the diner and the server.
We would’ve Frank a very high mark, but obviously he is not the kitchen but the interface. Never underestimate that. I would give this kitchen very high marks for the food and general service, but also with the interface between us and the food.
We chastened about the food and let him guide us to in a direction we really likely. An excellent guide to wine that fit the meal we wanted.
the Kauai Grill is a few thousand miles from where we lived, but for that, I’d be there tomorrow night. Thanks, Frank.

You can tell by the line for coffee that this bakery has the best in Hanalei! Don't let the line scare you - it moves fairly fast. And after all, you are in Hanalei - time to relax.
We were staying in a rental house, so we bought bread here as well and you can also buy the coffee to take home. Excellent green juices.
Favorite was the brekkie sandwich, with a poached egg, cheese and bacon - you can add an extra egg. The bread is like a brioche so nice and light. Baked goods are also excellent - had a delicious croissant.
Best latte on the island in my opinion. Stopped back for lunch on our last day. The Turkey BLT was superb! Served on toasted sour dough bread - it was huge! You could actually share this for two. Lots of choices - including pizza. There are not a lot of restaurants open for lunch in Hanalei (mostly dinner) - so this was a great find. The kitchen will be closed at 3:00 pm starting 03/18.

At Nanea Restaurant and Bar, we focus on fresh, local ingredients and create dishes inspired by Hawaiian, Asian and Modern American cusines. Join us for a relaxing evening at Nanea.
We had dinner at Nanea Restsurant and Bar while staying at the Westin. It was a delicious experience. We both chose the tasting menu and I also got the wine pairing. The cost was very reasonable. Food was wonderful and the risotto was especially good. Service was great and I really enjoyed the wine choices.
