The food was fantastic and the portions were so large. We were a group of 45 and the restaurant had the experience to ask us to preorder. We got there and literally the food started coming out of the kitchen within 15 minutes. We were done and left the restaurant within 1.5 hours. Everyone loved the food. The seafood was done to perfection. The chicken souvlaki was juicy, the pizzas were gooey with cheese, the lasagnas were full of meat and cheese. The calamari was tender and not juicy. It was a great dinner

Casual elegant dining overlooking the sea and Mountains, serving seafood, lamb, chicken, duck, beef, pork and vegetarian options. A Wednesday night " Steak and Seafood Buffet " and musical events.
We wandered into this spacious waterfront restaurant, surprised it was open for lunch so late in the season. What a delight it was. A view table, attentive service, and delicious seafood, highlighting oysters and mussels. We enjoyed wine and chatting with our server and the chef-owner. Oyster fishing boats were coming in and out of the wharf, and the outside eating area looked as if would be great fun in warm weather. The chef sent over a complimentary sticky toffee pudding; irresistible. We recommend this place highly; elegant and friendly eating in a remote and gorgeous place.

Highly, highly, highly recommend that everyone try this restaurant. If you are lucky on nice days to get a patio seat, the experience is even better. However, inside is quaint and decorative and honestly, the food is so good it doesn't matter where you sit. Amazing staff, great prices, and if you want the best fish taco of your life, this is where you will get it. We went when la Casita was here, but the new name in an old place is just as good. Go there.

River City Coffee is a local hub, being the first to roast coffee in Powell River (est.1994) we know our coffee. Its not all about the coffee though, extensive arrangement of baking made fresh daily and delicious eatery options, something for everyone; the healthy, not-so-healthy, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian. "Local to the last drop" Come in for breakfast, lunch, coffee, a snack or early dinner !
River City Coffee has always been a great place to eat and spend time. Food and coffee are great and the staff is excellent. I visit the place at least two times per month, and have never been disappointed. Well worth the visit.

Like many before us, we discovered this restaurant on the highway between Powell River and Saltery Bay. We were especially hungry and just a little desperate because we were travelling on Sunday--almost nothing in Powell River was open but for McDonald's. We had no idea how little lay ahead.
Then we saw Skeeter Jack's.
Very good food. Typical pub fare in a way but with a lot of creative flourishes. Also, there's a full bar for those who need that. Obviously a very popular place, and another diner told us that you can hardly get in on Friday and Saturday nights.

Magpies Restaurant is situated in Cranberry, a small community which is part of Powell River. It is housed in what was Wiltshires Variety store when I was young. The menu is down home cooking and they serve breakfast all day! The portions are huge and delicious. The BIG breakfast is, well, BIG. Free range eggs, good quality bacon and good coffee make for a superb meal. The owners have kept the old 'soda fountain' area and the decor is simple and clean. Like fries? There's are hand cut from real potatoes . The service is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

This was recommended to us by locals and the food is great. Everyone thought the food tasted great, the portions were healthy, definitely great value for your money. The only issue was the poor attitude of the server. I had ordered cabernet sauvignon and was brought a white wine. I reiterated what I ordered and she rudely told me that is what she brought me. I said I wanted a red wine and she told me that I had ordered the wrong wine. Everyone at the table was shocked at her attitude. This type of service might be okay on the pub side but we were in the dining room and I think other people could take offense.

We serve North Indian and Kashmiri Cuisine in Home-Style preparation .
Little Hut Curry is more than just a restaurant, it is an experience. It is a small, family run restaurant and after a few visits there you feel like family! Mohinder is the owner, and serves the tables. His lovely wife is the cook, and if she has time she comes out to chat. The building is an old house, so the rooms are intimate and cozy. Many tables have a stunning sea view and there is outdoor Seating in the summer. The food is amazing and such a value. We usually order the thali. For a set price, $17 I think, you get a delicious appetizer, salad, and a plate with four dishes plus rice! We like meat, but there are also vegetarian options and gluten free, so all needs are met. The owners are active participants in the community, and serve at most main events and festivals. It’s wise to make a reservation, it is a small place and you don’t want to be disappointed! Enjoy!

Thaidal Zone is a restaurant that provides delicious authentic Thai food prepared by real Thai chefs. The spice is mild down but you have your choice between zero to five. We have a lot of regulars that enjoy our food daily. We also have a Takeout service so if you are wanting a nice meal at home we can help. We are here for you please feel like you can ask us anything.
Very large servings of fresh, hot Thai food. Diners chose level of spiciness. Our group sampled red curry with shrimp and veg, yellow curry with tofu and veg, and no curry crispy noodle dish with chicken and veg. Service was very friendly and quick. Awkward placements of washrooms since they are outside in another building - not so nice in rainy weather.

We stayed at the Old Courthouse Inn for one night and breakfast was included in the price. A la carte menu with lots of choices from Eggs Benedictine to yoghurt with granola. We are not great fans of cooked breakfasts so we had the yoghurt with fruit and coffee. Nice place, great ambiance, moving story on the back of the menu in homage of Edie Rae, JP's (one of the owners) mother. Great old photographs of her on the walls. Good service.
