The ribs were good, as advertised! The server did not fully listen to our order and a few things came out incorrectly, or missed. The potatoes were too dry.
I have food allergies and the menu / establishment is not flexible with substitutions which makes it difficult to eat here.

Stayed at the Days inn in Winnipeg and we were heading west and needed to leave early. Our hotel breakfast did not start until 7 am so we left hoping to find something good in Portage la Prairie. After a short drive westward, we found this restaurant and pulled in for breakfast. The atmosphere was great and the place was very cozy and clean. There was only one waitress in at the time and she was very friendly and attentive.
I had the chefs special with shredded hash browns and bacon. It was plentiful and delicious. My wife had a cinnamon bun french toast style and she loved it too. I had a taste and it was good. The coffee was good and refilled often. The place had regulars and they were enjoying the meal.
If I am ever in the area again, I will return.

Dicks has been around Portage la Prairie forever. Consistently good Chinese food with personal service from the owners. Daily specials and a wide variety on the menu. The ambiance is like a 70's diner with booths and some tables...not a bad thing at all! Recommend!

Although as everything they have shunk in size, but they are still freshly made and delicious! I'd ditch the pinball machines as it has the capabilities of turning into a hang out that way!

They have a great variety on their lunch buffet. I find it is the best in town. The restaurant is old but clean. Service is always friendly.

First time here. Four of us just wanted to grab some food and go home. Ordered three adult Takeout entrees and every item on the children's menu, just to try it. The entrees were substandard with all three people complaining about different things. Every single children's meal was either overcooked or just burnt. They suck.

Canadian dishes with some from the Phillipines also served.
Passing through Portage La Prairie one morning and nearly drove by this place, but did a quick u-turn pulled in for Monday morning breakfast. We ordered the breakfast special, which turned out to be well prepared and substantial. But while waiting for our food to come I was drawn to the railroad memorabilia so got up from our table and took a walk around. The proprietor (?) noticed my interest and gave us the quick 10 minute tour of all the items on display. From vintage railway uniforms to old train schedules to model railroads, it is probably worth visiting Lita's just to check out the displays. I could easily have stayed there longer and had a few more cups of coffee while checking it all out - I certainly felt welcome to do so - but the road beckoned and we had to make our way.
Just a note: there is also some local home made baking and whatnot on sale at the cash, if you have a taste for that sort of thing!

The other reviewers weren't wrong here. This place had great service and delicious food! My husband had a pork dinner and I had spanakopita. This was after a delicious appetizer of pitas and dip. Then we followed it with an order of baklava for dessert. This was drizzled with chocolate. Everything was wonderful. You can't go wrong here!
