Enjoy a front row seat to a culinary performance at Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi. Hibachi chefs entertain with dazzling knife and spatula tricks while cooking the meals to perfection. Utilizing only the freshest and finest, Nagoya also offers an expansive sushi bar featuring fish flown in from around the world.
The sushi we had was good although very overpriced. This doesn't apply to the toro nigiri, which while expensive, was worth every penny as it was straight from Japan and it tasted like it! (I have dined in Japan several times). Sushi chefs were friendly, but the wait staff was aloof. We went without refills and the sushi chef had to call to the back of the house to get a runner for a food because no one was around for so long.

No matter which of the Toft ice cream parlors you go to... Fremont, Port Clinton, or the main store on Venice Road in Sandusky, it's just plain good ice cream. Now not necessarily Mom's homemade, but it's so much superior to anything that you buy in a standard grocery store. Well, that is unless you buy Toft's half gallons in a grocery store in Ohio! At least the main store, you can also get food. That is, food Beyond ice cream. As well, Toft makes other dairy products including great milk. I should say they process the milk. The cows make it. Along with Young's Jersey Dairy of Yellow Springs and the former Goshen Dairy of New Philadelphia, Graeter's and others in Ohio, Toft'd is just hard to beat. Highly recommended for those who forgotten what good ice cream is. Or for those who really KNOW what good ice cream is.

Last minute stop for dinner on a cold, rainy evening. Seated at a cozy corner booth by the fireplace. House red wine is nice and reasonably priced with a decent pour. I ordered eggplant parmesan, husband ordered chef's choice ravioli which was a jalapeno based ravioli served with peppers. It came with a very light cream sauce. He said it was some of the best pasta he ever had! (And we've been to Italy!). Highly recommend!

The gelatos were very creamy and loaded with a ton of flavor. We had the banana tres leches, think banana Foster, and the strawberry shortcake flavors. On their own they were both very good. Mixed together it was like a banana split in one cup. Oh and shortbread cookies shaped like a dog bone is a nice touch.

We celebrate birthdays at this restaurant with meals such as prime rib, lobster tails and chicken piccata as our choices. All excellently cooked. The desserts ordered were molten lava cake, cheesecake with raspberry sauce and carrot cake. Again excellent choices. Hope I'm making people hungry because we left the restaurant pleasantly full.

Terrific margaritas, plenty of food options and great service. Love going to this place. Always enjoy our evening out when we decide it is time for Mexican food. Very happy we found this place a couple of years back and usually go there at least once a month (we are about 20-30 miles away). Summer months more often

We went because it was touted as the best seafood in Pt. Clinton. We were disappointed because it was all deep fried. A little short on atmosphere. You order at a window and they bring your food out to you. Almost cafeteria style.

After stopping at Berardis and having a bad experience, we left and went on the hunt for something a little more off the grid. We found Ala Carte Cafe. When we typically find a small hole in the wall restaurant with a packed parking lot...thats a great sign! lol. The atmosphere was nice, old time diner feel. Pretty friendly service, all be it slow. We had the smothered biscuit. It sounded and looked alot more appetizing than it actually was. It wasn't "horrible" but it was nothing to write home about. The biscuit was dry and to "cakey". hashbrowns were good, gravy was OK,egg was good. price was OUTRAGEOUS however. That is my biggest gripe with the place. 2 meals and a couple of drinks was almost $40!. For a small town diner and for the quality of food I would expect the price to be more in line with HALF of what we actually paid. Also they are doing road construction in front of the place and the parking situation was a little hectic and even finding the place proved to be a chore with all the detours we had to take to get to it. Would I go back? probably not...nothing there was fantastic enough to draw me back again. Did we hate it? No...but we did not love it either. If you are crunched for time and in the area and have a few extra dollars to burn and an empty stomach to fill...its a perfectly decent place to stop and grab a bite.

Had no idea about this place until a friend of mine suggested it. Located in an airport hanger in Port Clinton. Go early because the diner is small and fills up fast! 50's style diner. Has a back seat of a 1950s car as a seat in the waiting area. The meal portions are HUGE! Proceeds of the diner help the airplane museum that is inside and another building behind the diner. Which tickets can be purchased separately to view the old airplanes, old hollywood artifacts ie Hogans Heros uniforms, TItanic blue prints, and dinner ware that was on board the ship. Food was great and so was the tour.
