Following a good review on Trip Advisor we booked this restaurant before leaving the UK. We were not disappointed! The first night (after a long and tiring journey from Caen) we turned up to a friendly welcome with lots of assistance with wheelchair arrangements for my wife. It had been difficult to find because our satnav had the place wrongly located. After a number of circuits we found it earlier in the afternoon and also knew where to park. That night we ordered an assortment of seafood. It was excellent but we could not get through the quantity. We booked a table for the following night This time we held back on quantity and my wife had seafood risotto which was excellent and I ordered a fish recommended by the lady on the adjoining table. It was a good move. The meal was finished with an assortment of sorbets which tasted so good. Two coffees later and we thought we were in heaven! The wine we selected was a rose which was hardly pink but tasted great. Full marks again. Try it and you won't be disappointed!

La meilleure creperie! A very rich menu, with lots of possibilities! The owner is a very friendly guy and its team of chefs+waiters, well as the french say: chapeau! A very pleasant and cozy place which I'll recommend it to everybody!

Friday 2nd September 8:30 pm.
My husband and I visited hoping for a cornette, but that part was closed. Instead we went inside. The young man serving us practically threw the ice cream at me, he was banging doors and creating a bad atmosphere. The ice cream was fantastic but we ate and left within 10 minutes as he was so rude.

Thus restaurant is massively better than the last English language review before mine. Ignore that one.
This is tucked just off the harbour. I always think restaurants not on the main drag are the best.
The two owners, I assume, are a delightful young couple. They were friendly, welcoming, speak English and deserve to be busier. Though we did go modestly out of season - early June week day evening.
The food was fish based - a whole range of great dishes.
Wine list wasn't huge but covered all regions with something for all wallets.
Please go. They deserve it and you won't regret it

Enjoyed this restaurant very much, from the decor, the food, to the buzzy ambience and the very charming waitress who served us. My companions had steak which they raved about and I had a salmon tartare starter and scallop main course which were both lovely. The scallops were accompanied by a gorgeous mash and very tasty vegetables. Our desserts were also beautiful and all dishes were faultlessy presented. would highly recommend.

The Retz: fresh, original cuisine, sauces falling, desserts to top ONLY seafood reservation.
We had tried to eat there on the Saturday, but it was full, which is always a good sign. So we tried again on the Monday and found it fairly deserted.
Now don't get me wrong - the food was good and the service was very friendly, but it was very expensive for the size of the portions.
We both went for the €25 three course Gourmand Menu. As our French isn't very good (particularly with restaurant menus), I can't be entirely sure what our starters were but they were very tasty. For mains we went for a fish dish. Surprisingly, at least for us, it was served with a separate slice of grilled bacon, with another slice of bacon wrapped around the fish. Certainly, not what I expected, especially as I don't eat meat. For afters, we went for simple glaces.
There was a range of wines, but they were fairly expensive, with the only half-bottle, a fairly average Bordeaux, coming in at €14.
So overall, we came away feeling slightly dissatisfied but, obviously, this is very much a personal view.

This place is worth going to for the view alone! The staff are very friendly and there is a great selection of crepes including some very traditional and local ones. The cider is very nice too. We arrived late for lunch, but they kindly accommodated us.
Dessert crepes and ice creams are beaut too.

This was our first moules dish of the holiday, therefore a meal we'd been looking forward to since last year! La Moulerie didn't disappoint us. A lovely little cafe with a traditional French feel and situated in Pornic's picturesque little harbour, but on the opposite side of all the shops, so nicely away from the busiest road.
The moules were delicious and plentiful, and the service faultless. Would be happy to go again when next in Pornic.

This wonderful place is centrally located and has a wonderful range of flavours with the added attraction of having many of the flavours available as whippy style ice cream which us Brits love!
We had Cointreau (solid) and Coconut whipped flavours on one cone, and the second cone was yogurt whipped and passion fruit whipped (see photos.)
The server was very friendly and was working hard with a busy counter of customers to deal with.
Now all we need to do is start pre planning what flavours we will choose tomorrow when we will be making another pit stop at this well run ice cream shop.
