We already saw this ristorante and pizzeria on tripadvisor and wanted to go but glad we went, what a beautiful scenery in a old farmhouse who looks like a castle owned by the family for decades. You are a true guest of the family, hospitality is number one. Food is delicious: we have had the steak (juicy, medium cooked) and a nice spaghetti with seabrass.
After diner the son of the family invited us for a tour through the building ending at the top of the castle overlooking the hole valley, breathtaking!
To be short: this is a must when you are in Toscany!

Absolutely fantastic country restaurant. Actually it also serves as a grocery, but the true power lies in the few tables behind the main counter where all the magic is served. Local country food at reasonable prices. All ingredients are from the neighbouring fields, personnel is great and extremely kind. A place to go if in the area!

We came here as part of our wine tour and I must say I was very pleased! We had already spent a great morning driving around the Tuscany area, learning about the history and drinking great wine when came to the restaurant. We arrived around noon, starving and we were the only ones there. The restaurant was closed to public at the time and the chef was trying a new tasting menu. He was friends with our wine guide and we were up for the experience. I must say everything we had was delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly executed. If you have a chance to go here, I absolutely think you should. Buon Appetito!

Pasta with rabbit was absolutely delicious -- traditional recipe, perfectly prepared. My husband's wild boar was excellent, as well. The bread was very special and made by the restaurant. The setting was lovely and calm and the wait staff very kind and helpful. I ordered vegetable strudel for a second course and it was not that great. It's best to stick to traditional dishes here as they are amazing and well worth the trip!!

Pizza a lievitazione naturale su 4 tipi di impasto! Ingredienti genuini e di prima scelta... Ottimi abbinamenti sia di vini che di birre artigianali!!
This family company knows how to make a delicious Italian Pizza! The ristorante was completely full with a lot of Tuscany families enjoying themselves. Great fun to be part of it! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We have had a very nice evening!

This place is about 25 minutes from Florence but worth the driver waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, the setting outside is what eating in this region is all about, the food very good, typical italian cooking simple no fuss without complicated flavours try to fight each other, good wine selection that is reasonably priced.
I gave this place a four instead of a five star because I think it is a little on the high side as far food prices go, but I feel I would be drawn back to this place if I was in the area again

I returned with friends a bit more than two years after our family's first wonderful experience. It was a delightful evening, and we did experience another wonderful sunset as we were sipping the sparkling rosé proffered by our server. Our Italian friends, (who are Tuscan food snobs!) reveled in every bite. They thoroughly enjoyed their bacala and a zucchini flan spectacular; my "rose" of pasta filled with a cream of zucchini flowers and ricotta and bits of tomato was delicious (I don't remember what my other friend ate). The Italians were over the moon about the pork dish; my friend and I ordered sliced pork on greens with burrata... we expected thin slices of pork medallion but got more of a sliced ham salad. The English language menu was not the best translation and we felt a bit misled. It was delicious, just not what we expected. The waiter and the host seemed a bit distracted. Castello del Trebbiano (in which the restaurant is located) produces some fine wines but neither could tell us much about them. Fortunately we'd tasted a couple the day before and remembered about the Sangiovese in amphora. So the bottles we selected were delicious. But the Super Tuscan that we'd hoped to drink wasn't available and they knew nothing about it. After dinner coffees were only ok.

The take away and restaurant are one cohesive trip into popular Tuscan grilled food and certainly an immersion in authentic basic but delicious local food. The dominant position of the grill says it all, but even vegetarians can find earnest pastas and vegetables, not to mention the scrumptious potatoes roasted or fried. The beef, chicken, sausages are all served well seasoned and grilled . The restaurant a la carte is simple but again very substantial and good quality - prepare for a wait for the take away and for a slightly erratic service - highly recommended

We really enjoyed choosing the fresh fish before they prepared them for our meal. Great local wines and service with a smile were a real treat. If you're close to Pontassieve, try it out! (Note that this restaurant is close to the train station.)

First off, this restaurant in Villamagna (Bagno a Ripoli), outside Florence, is NOT to be confused with another Trattoria of the same name I've seen on TripAdvisor in Civita di Bagnoregio, Italy. Those reviews were lukewarm, at best.
This place was simply the best restaurant we found in our travels this past summer, and as the title mentions, we ate there twice. And with kids of 17, 14 and 10, who were happy to return, which tells you right there that the food was great even for picky kids.
Homemade pasta, beef Florentine style (for 2)...even the carpaccio was fantastic ; I can't recommend this place highly enough. We were staying at a nearby B & B, and this was not only the closest restaurant around but also the best. Closed on Mondays (I think), its definitely worth waiting for the rest of the week. Typical trattoria off the main square in a small hilltop town, the views are pleasant and the staff was quite accommodating, bringing out the meat to get our approval first and providing English language menus (tip ; stick to the Italian menu, sometimes there are items that either don't translate well or are simply omitted from the English version).
Credit cards accepted and a decent wine list, so what else can you ask for ?
