A charming place, a restaurant with all the features to become "historical", since it stands where the first stones of Neapolis were placed in the far Middle Ages, today Polignano a Mare. Antiche Mura Restaurant is like the "Rotonde", the enchanting restaurant of the monumental Hotel Negresco in Nice, the place preferred by the most renowned people. Our idea is to realize an attractive corner of the Apulian cuisine, combining simplicity and refinement of choice. What strikes, apart from our good cuisine, is the refinement of our restaurant and the attention paid to every single detail. Finally, natural politeness and professionality will make the atmosphere pleasant and harmonious, for an unforgettable moment to spend together with other people.
As so many others have commented, Antiche Mura is exceptional on so many levels:
Immense dining room with vaulted ceilings and beautiful, nautical themed decorations (much bigger than it appears from the street); as a solo diner, made me feel like an honored guest; impeccable and friendly service; complimentary glass of prosecco to start an amazing meal; fantastic seafood and pasta (I had the tuna carpaccio as a starter); excellent, reasonably priced house wine; super locally inspired desserts (and that coming from someone not much into sweets, but I was convinced to try the sampler).
Bottom line: a wonderful experience and a great value for money.

Very good food and service. We ordered 8 dishes - all great! Especially local specialty orecchiette with tomato sauce is simply amazing! Great value too. Owner Giuseppe is very kind and caring. You can tell he cares truly for serving high quality local food and taking care of his customers- quite the opposite to the other fancy looking dinner places we went to last couple of days where we paid more than double and got awful food for tourists. Nice to finish the trip with such a pleasant experience. Thumbs up! We highly recommend.

We had this great early lunch yesterday in Polignano a Mare. This place is quite small, only a few tables, but this is what makes it special...the home made pasta, a good recomendation. Good servive, fast. For fish lovers, im afraid, this is the only...MoreDovete educare i vostri figli. L'educazione al 1 posto Il ristorante non è un circo . Grazie

Best foccacia ever - and I've eaten quite many during the past week in Italy. We had the pepperoni and zucchini one. The pepperoni was the best! The zucchini is heavy, has loads of cheese.
Only downside of this place is the fact that it's burning hot inside. Since its the best foccaceria in town - there is almost always a line and thus you come out sweaty :-).
But totally worth it!!

Polignano a Mare is famous for its ice cream and the shiny 30 flavour bars manned by beautiful people are appearing like mushrooms. But Bar Turismo is simply fantastic. Do not leave Polignano without trying this ice cream because this is the bench mark that should be used to judge other places. OK, the place looks like it has never been tarted up; OK so the man serving never smiles and looks depressed - proof that money does not make you happy; OK so any hope of an english word will be in vain and OK there will be only 6 flavours that revolve around chocolate & nuts but oh my Lord how good will each one be? I have been going for a long time and I wish this bar a long life.

Small and cozy restaurant, located in the old town, a few seats, quiet, the kitchen of this place and innovative and traditional at the same time! Natural flavors, refined and revised in accordance with all of the innovative ideas and pleasantly surprising. Your taste buds will thank you! Just remember the dishes tasted at small events and dinners consumed in two midweek mouth is watering! Recommended meatballs and rich appetizers. Highly recommended! <br>(Review by a customer)
One of three that our hotel suggested. The Pallazzo was full but a reservation was not suggested. The other was on the front and we decided that this one would be good as it was not just fish.
We got a table next to the downstairs/basement reception area which was active. The service was OK and the food substantial. Just not great and certainly not memorable.

We had an after dinner snack here. The ice cream flavours are novel and I had a gorgeous frullata. The kids had ice cream waffles and My wife had frozen yoghurt. The ice cream flavours are yummy. Great prices too. Very fast service and cool decor.

We had lunch in this TINY restaurant (5-6 tables maximum) and thoroughly enjoyed the food. It is not Italian, although it uses Italian ingredients and has Italian inspiration, so if you're getting tired of the usual Orecchiette Cime di Rapa, this is a great choice. Very interesting menu with both vegetarian and vegan options, certainly delicious food. It's not BETTER than traditional Italian, but it is DIFFERENT from traditional Italian, and very refreshing to try. I would definitely recommend going, but not with Italians who can't imagine a meal without the usual...
The service/staff was also very nice. There are lots of friendly staffs in Italy, but this felt even more intimate and friendly than that. The team that owns/runs the place (I hate to say I forgot their names; I'm sorry!) made an effort to discuss the menu, how things were put together, and helped us to plan a great meal there. Unusually good service in a country where you often get pretty good service.
Finally: I'm not complaining about the prices, because I understand that the prices have to be a little higher to handle this level of food and this small of a restaurant, but you should be aware that your lunch will be maybe 25% more than you might expect at a normal restaurant. It's worth it, but be prepared to understand that this small of a place and this good of a kitchen do cost a little more. It's not outrageously more, but it is a bit more than normal.

A unique place where the flavors of our land are connected to those of Cuba Come and visit us in the historic center of Polignano a Mare Via Annunziata
We walked passed this small bar and were amazed by how many people were sat on steps outside enjoying various types of mojitos. We decided to have a classic mojito and a caipirinhas . They were fantastic, very sweet and alcoholic! Just what was needed on a hot Puglian evening. This bar is definitely worth a visit.
