We asked Florentine friends to recommend a seafood restaurant and they sent us to Poggibonsi to Alcide! It was beyond delicious, the choices of fresh fish prepared in innumeral dishes were mouthwatering. We were lucky that there was room at their hotel because trying to drive home to Perugia would have been dangerous at night after having such a meal. After that experience many years ago, later trips were planned always with a stopover here,,either going or coming back or both!

These guys are a class act. The restaurant is in a hideous location, and is simply decorated inside, but the fish is truly excellent, top-tier, They also have a meat menu that I've never tried, but if it's anything like their fish, it'll be something to look forward to,

Some people might not know the difference between a good pizza and a crap one. As an Italian living in U.K. i certainly do. And let me tell you that I have eaten better pizzas at Pizza Hut. It was impossible to cut mine, I had to tear at it. It was uncooked, insipid both in taste and appearance. Pity that having half eaten it after getting rid of the cold mushrooms I couldn't send it back. Or I would have done.

the flavor is the same of the ancient tipical Tuscany Osteria founded on quality of ospitality, sociality and typicalmfamilaiarity kitchen
We got there because I read very high reviews in tripadvisor about food and the staff. Well, I am sorry to say, but if the menu is so so and the staff (especially the wife) is even worse.
Let's start from the beginning. Apparently the restaurant was fully booked, but they managed to give us a table in a very unhappy position. I would have preferred they told us sorry we do not have a table for you instead of giving us excuse about a client who was not leaving the table.
Then moving to the food, my friend had gnocchi - which, in a family run osteria, you would expect to be home-made. Well, no way! Cheap supermarket level - don't even try to tell me it is homemade.
I had local dish, i.e. codfish at Senese style. So so...
The funny thing is that they fill in the menu with 'galateo' rules. ...well, wife should learn the galateo first of all, or if she does not like to assist clients, she should simply change profession. I have been managing a restaurant for 20 years. She does not even know the meaning of 'being friendly and assisting clients'.
So, my personal advice, please avoid. If you go, well, I wish you good luck.

Chef Enrico Orlandini (son of Marcello),Marcello is a poet as well as archivist of traditional Tuscan cuisine. He has written a Tuscan cookbook in the old tradition. The restaurant is small but the food fresh and authentic and iris inexpensive.
Don't get the wrong idea about this restaurant. The simple installations keeps a amazing jewel inside. It is far from Pogibonssi downtonw but worth it.
A typical countryside restaurant and an outstanding homemade like food. The Florentine Steak was amazing, simply the best one we ate in Italy. The owners are so friendly and nice, you fell all their hospitality. You definitle should try it. The Picci bolognese sauce was outstanding too.
Please, go there if you can.

At Casa Bandini we want to propose to you a creative, original and personal cuisine, that is at the same time ancient and revisited. We work on rediscovering our unique gastronomic tradition, free from the contamination of adulterations that could alter its true taste and meaning.Absolutely all of our dishes are prepared with ingredients of maximum freshness and quality, devoid of the use of artificial flavorings and stocks.
Our first dinner at Casa Bandini was so persuasive that we went only there for all of the following evenings upon returning from our daytime outings throughout Tuscany. That was very convenient as we stayed 2,5 km away, at Villa San Lucchese. It also meant that we got to try pretty much of everything on their menu.
We sampled local Antipasti (delicate and delicious), wonderful Bruschette, a very good Coniglio, and Truffle-flavored pastas and meats.
Wine is nice as well.
Situated on a big property, the place has a special atmosphere about it. The restaurant as such is warmly decorated. Service was impeccable.

Really cool and stylish venue, super kind and captivating owners, Japanese chefs, modern and vibrant atmosphere and... delicious sushi!
What else should I add? I tried this restaurant twice, first time as take-away which was packed in a nice and easy to handle package and food was awesome. Second time I went for dinner with my fiancè to celebrate our anniversary and the dinner was fabulous, with really good sushi and tempura. And the cake... what a delight! We had a great experience both times! Price was average for a sushi restaurant -the bill was 84€ including an expensive white wine bottle, but we got it discounted to 75€!
LIKED: the owners (a guy and a girl) are really friendly and cool and most importantly sushi is fresh and good!
DISLIKED: actually... nothing.
HINT: if you go for dinner, don't go too early -most customers will arrive around 9ish or even later and the atmosphere will improve much more!

tradicional spanish kitchen, tapas of fish, meat and vegetables, iberic chorizo and jam, paella of Valencia, of fisch, mix or black, only under prenotation, sangría and spanish wine
We ate at this restaurant for three out if the four days we stayed in Poggibonsi, we just fell in love with everything about it. The owners Ricado & Maria serve & cook all the food themselves with the help if one other lady. You must must eat here if you are in the area. The pizzas are cooked from fresh as is all the food & they were the best we ate in Italy.

We visited this gelateria on a referral form a friend and we not disappointed! The flavors were incredible and some of the best in the Tuscan region of Italy. We tried ricotta and fig, straciatella, and pastry cream with stawberry. The ricotta and fig were amazing! I wanted to return a second time but we did not make it back on this visit to Italy, but you can bet we will return next year..

When I visit my native Italy, you can be sure I always go and get my ice cream at Il Ventaglio. With dozens of flavours to choose from one could easily order more than they can eat, as is my case. I always have lemon sorbet and cassata. Would recommend without hesitation
