What's not to love? Went early in the morning and nothing else nearby was open, not even Arby's. Got our morning coffee jolt and a fresh, delicious Apple Crumb donut. The place was clean, the servers were polite and efficient, and the assortment was very good.

Mallards on the River is a family owned and operated waterfront restaurant that focuses on the use of local produce and proteins whenever possible. We have an eclectic menu with something for everyone, served in a casual, relaxed waterfront setting in historic downtown Pocomoke city, Maryland
Had lunch with my husband today he had the Cuban Doc sandwich and it was very good. I had the Mallard salad with grilled chicken which was awesome, very fresh and great portion size ( needed a Togo box) Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. We will be back.

I stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday during "Pony Week" in Chincoteague, VA (which is about 20 miles away). The food was ... okay. Nothing special, just your typical bar food. They do offer a flight of local Maryland beer, which I liked, and their caramel apple pie was excellent. Service was pretty good (but again, it was a Tuesday).

This is exactly the type of hop we needed downtown. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The proprietor, Taylor, is very talented and friendly. All of the folks working there make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.
I tend to stop in at least once a week for a fantastic cup of coffee and one of their extraordinary baked goods. If you are lucky enough to get some bread pudding before it's sold out, you are in for a treat. I've tried many of their products and have never been disappointed.

Okay, busy is good. Place is a little out dated and needs some TLC. First visit food was good. This time I ordered a special, the chicken pot pie, not what I expect, but okay. Needed more vegetable filling, had plenty of chicken. Had the chef salad and fries. Salad was okay, but I wanted a Greek salad rather then chef salad that came with the special. They could have given me the Greek and just charged the difference, $2. Need to be more flexible and accommodating for customers. First salad had a lady but in salad, but was replaced with a new one. Servers were short handed, but they both hustled so it's hard to hold anything against service. They were friendly and maintained good level of service. My wife had seafood platter, scallops, shrimp and fish were good, however, what they called a crab cake was a poor excuse and should not have been served. It was claw and mixture of crab meat, minus lump or backfin. Cole slaw is the star at the restaurant. So stay away from the crab cake. I was seated where I could see into the kitchen and they may want to take some time to clean the kitchen vent, caked with grease and dirt. Notice they still leave the kitchen plates out on buffet table where dirt and human contact can occur until needed on the weekend. Plenty of parking. Not one of my favorite, but would still return, just maybe an annually.

This is an average place to eat. It's not bad and it's not great. We have eaten only 2 times there. So we would say is was a good meal, fast and friendly service. Have a great day!

If you are traveling North, you would have seen a burned down building. This was the old Sage Diner. I had Broiled Stuffed Mushrooms that were very good. Chet had Fish n Ships and wasn't quite as happy with his. There is another Sage Diner we have eaten at. Both are popular with the locals.

US13 thru the DelMarVa peninsula is dotted with restaurants of all kinds including Chinese . . . this place was pretty good, maybe #1(!).
Great shrimp, beef, chicken and other seafood delights that take advantage of the bounty of the Eastern Shore (for example, a small bucket of cherrystone's) that all come at a ridiculously low price.
Would come here again if I was passing through. Not high-end gourmet (which would cost $50+), but an extremely nice place to munch out in.
