There is an article about it on the page: http://elarranque.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=509:inaugura-en-penonome-el-meson-de-santa-cruz-&catid=61:noti-actualidad&Itemid=147
Beautiful decor, fantastic meal, and service like what you've come to expect in fine dining establishments in the states (no offense to Panamanians, but restaurant service there leaves much to be desired in terms of attentiveness, promptness). The waiter spoke enough English to answer my questions about the menu. We ate in the softly lift courtyard, lulled by the chirping of crickets in a nearby blooming hedge. I started with the ceviche mixto, a blend of calamari, shrimp, corvina and mussels. A touch of fresh red onion and a nice spicy after bite. It was a generous portion, enough for two. Based on a recommendation from other Trip Advisor reviewers, my entree was the corvina in green sauce; a light, creamy sauce with fresh asparagus and peas. The fish was cooked perfectly; flaky and tender. Served with rice and on the side, a tomato slice with fresh lettuce, topped with a garlic vinaigrette. I am a huge fan of Chifa-style food (Peruvian Cantonese), and the chef here is from Peru...thank goodness my companion ordered the Chifa chicken rice. The best I've ever had! Think of Chinese style fried rice, only with huge chunks of roasted chicken, flavored with some amazing green herb (culantro? cilantro?)...I can only guess. Not your mamma's fried rice, I guarantee! If I had more time in Panama, I'd stay an extra day in Penonome just to eat here again. I understand the owners have another restaurant about 20 minutes way that also comes highly recommended by the locals (Mar del Sur, I believe). The entire bill, with one glass of wine, was under 40 dollars US!

It was only a two day trip but we ate here 3 times. Meals were excellent. Good food, good prices, and good service. Good menu selection and can't say enough about the chocolate cake with marshmallow icing. Also spoke with the very friendly hotel staff and was shown a room. We plan to stay here on our next trip.

The fish is wonderful, we had sea bass with a romesco sauce, pizza, Greek salad, pasta Bolognese, and several other seafood dishes. Pasta al-dente. The fresh fish was very well cooked and fantastic. In 2 weeks we ate here about four times and were never disappointed. Order the fish! As an Italian pizza fanatic I would say it is difficult to find the proper flour here for a truly authentic pizza.
Great service, good food, the fresh fish is the best. A great ambience.

This is a very good restaurant. Located in the outskirts of Penonome, and kind like in the middle of nowhere, the place is nice, clean and the food is good. Lots of seafood and other plates, the kitchen is clearly Peru-oriented (which typically means, GOOD). I have been there several times and the food and service was always consistent and good. Do not expect "five stars service" but for the area is much more than acceptable. Portions are huge, so watch out with the orders. Prices are very reasonable and they even have a decent wine list. Certainly one of the best place in this area of the country. Will certainly be back.

Too bright, more of a cafeteria style - service was Ok - nice, friendly, and the food was OK - so all in all a pleasant meal for a family with kids - not very romantic, but serves its purpose.

They serve criolla type food. The place is very clean, the staff is friendly and the food was very good. It is across the street from Iguana Shopping Mall and Hotel Cocle. I will visit them again when we return to La Pintada at the end of 2017.

I stopped midday to take a break from the trip from the city to Boquete. Very clean and authenic looking restaurant. Nice tables, pictures and even Chinese tv station plus Panamanian TV station on two other tvs. I ordered the grande shrimp with noodles soup. I was not disappointed. Next trip through I will select another dish.

Stopped by when traveling back to Panama City on business. It was lunch time and the restaurant was packed. However, service was not slow and the other customers also seemed to be having a good time.
The dishes had good portion/price ratios and had a variety of choices for different tastes.
Only drawback was when we asked for the check. Took a long time and we had to get up and walk to the counter to pay.

I've been lot of times at Los Faroles in Aguadulce, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a new Los Faroles in Penonomé.
The food as good as always, I had the Filete "Los Faroles" it was delicious. The milk shake is good.
The service was OK.
They have limited parking but at nights there are lot of parking around.

We ate here for lunch. It was our first time to try a Peruvian restaurant. The mixed seafood rice my husband had was good. It had a lot of cilantro mixed in, which my daughter and I liked. The chicken pasta in Bernaise sauce had a lot of oregano, which I thought was really good. I ordered the mixed seafood yellow pepper and potato chef's recommendation. It was okay but not very flavorful. It came with a choice of sides. I chose the veggies which had a lot of variety but were a little greasy. Our son, who shared our entrees and didn't order one of his own, had a milk shake which turned out to be passion fruit flavored and was thin - not like an ice cream milk shake - more like a mango lassi. I liked it, but our son only drank half of it. I ordered the purple drink, which was delicious. The total bill with tip was $50. We were there about an hour - it took a long time to get out food, which seems to be common in Panama. The menu was pretty extensive but there was not one single vegetarian dish.
