I met a friend for breakfast at the Cooked Goose this week and had one of the best breakfast meals I have had in a long time. Delicious fresh food prepared beautifully!
We talked for two hours and were not rushed, the coffee kept coming and it was a very nice experience. The best eggs Benedict that I have ever had.

Established in 2012. Located in theOold Higgin's Building, the creamery gently updates the flair of a 1950's ice-cream shoppe to 2012. Mel's Downtown Creamery offers a wide variety of sweet treats. Whether it's a special occasions a night out with the family, or you just want to sit and relax with friends, come see Melanie, Dennis, and their smiling staff.
Mel’s was another accidental find during a recent visit to Rhode Island. I really liked the chrome and leatherette, 1950s diner look not to mention the (literally) dozens of ice cream, sorbet and frozen yoghurt flavours available. The only thing missing was a rock n roll jukebox. We tried ‘maple walnut’ and ‘chocolate’ ice creams and both were really good.

We are visiting the area and after getting coffee at another coffee shop and were disappointed we found this gem. I ran in and got a Carmel latte for my boyfriend and a peanut butter cup latte for myself. Both were delicious!! Staff was very friendly as well! They topped my latte with whipped cream chocolate sauce and Reeses pieces which I thought was cool! Will definetly be back when visiting again!!

Took my daughters out for lunch. We had the grilled cheese and meatball sandwiches on their fantastic pretzels. Our sandwiches were hot and tasty. Sandwiches are served with chips of your choice. Even on a midweek day, there were quite a few patrons for lunch. Our server was courteous. Wished he checked in with us a bit more (needed another beverage LOL). But overall a nice lunch.

Every year, it's about the Blizzards. They are so unhealthy but we just don't care THEY ARE DELICIOUS! If you live in the area, you must try this at least once, it's absolutely worth the wait (and yes, the line can get a bit long).

Being in an expensive area of Mystic, you would think that this place would also be expensive and not that good----WRONG. This place has a great sale every week and the seafood is fresh, fresh, fresh. The only item I have purchased there that was frozen was the Gulf shrimp. That's right, Gulf as in USA, not import from some nasty third world country. They given great service and again, the prices can't be beat. Only wish they were in East Lyme.

Plenty of typical bar options, but also some unique choices. I really loved their maple vinaigrette. We also struggled to make a decision on fries with four choices! We ended up going with the recommended curly fries and sweet potato fries - both of which were delicious. When the food came, we were shocked by how much food we were getting. Great prices, great food, large portions!

Having been to Ella's at least 25 times, I write this review with some knowledge of the menu and food. Ella's is a spot that you compare everything to: "Is this new restaurant as good as Ella's?" I always ask myself. Most times, the answer is "No." Their menu is just about the perfect blend of fish/meat/veggie choices with excellent appetizers and amazing desserts. Although I do have my favorites (Calamari for my appetizer ... and a friend loves the Momma's Chicken) I am generally a fish lover, so their salmon is fantastic as well as their scallops. The dessert menu is always excellent and varied ... from root beer floats to cheesecake or carrot cake, if you are lucky. Although it may be a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area, it is totally worth the price. Go. You will not regret one mouthful.

Loved our stop here for breakfast. I had the hefe breakfast burrito which was a great and filling value at $5.50. This is the best choice for breakfast among the picks along this stretch of Westerly. Friendly folks take your order and the window seats are fun to people watch. I would go back here for breakfast after sampling a few others in downtown Westerly.
