Established in 1910, Parksville is one of Canada's most popular summer destinations for families. Everyone loves Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, with its beaches, tidal flats and pools, wildlife, and campgrounds; and several other provincial parks are within half an hour's drive. Follow Vancouver Island's Highway 19 (Island Highway) to reach nearby Qualicum Beach and the Comox Valley.

Purveyors of Leftcoast fresh food for breakfast, lunch and dinner since 1996. As much as possible our meals are made to order and feature house made soups, sauces and scratch baked desserts. The place where 'It doesn't matter who's right!'

Kalvas is a classy, upscale log cabin with dark wood tables and a warm atmosphere. The semi-circular building offers almost every table a view from large windows. The focus of Kalvas is on the dining experience and the quality of the selections on the menu. Specializing in seafood and premium meats such as AAA Alberta Beef and Island Springs Lamb, Kalvas offers high-quality meals at reasonable prices.
We had a fantastic Valentines dinner at Kalvas Restaurant! For me a perfect steak and prawns and for hubby boullebaise seafood. Both meals were delicious and served by a great waitress who was attentive yet not intrusive. She convinced us to have decadent desserts. A chocolate mousse for me and a beautiful little apple pie for my spouse. We’ve never been disappointed eating at this restaurant. We loved our view of the fireplace and the log building itself is amazing.

Went there with friends for lunch. The BLT was OK; the hamburger looked good, but lacked taste and flavor; the special - chicken wrap, soup, salad....the wrap was tasteless and while the contents were warm, the wrap was cold...the soup, chicken fiesta, was harshly over spiced... the Caesar salad was good. The fries were good. The service was excellent. Do not go there if you want to talk to your friends. The noise is really high so everyone is yelling to be heard. Not comfortable.

We are a diamond in the rough! Here at Trees we have an in-house bakery as well as a full restaurant with everything made in house. If you're looking for one of our jumbo cinnamon buns, you should stop by early - they're usually the first thing to sell! We have a large breakfast menu and a great variety for lunch. The lunch menu is also available for dinner, with additional daily chef's dinner features. Come in and enjoy the great food, humble atmosphere & friendly staff!
This is a Restaurant, a Bakery (bread, squares, cake, muffins, tarts etc.) a Candy store ( fudge, peanut brittle, chocolate) and a coffee shop. We stopped for an early dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly and efficient service and the really good food. We were too full after dinner to have dessert but it is really hard to stand in front of that bakery counter and not order something to go...oh well, you only live once.

I stopped by at 4 p.m. on my way to timeshare. A very friendly fellow et me at the door as they had just opened. I asked him for a Vegan vegetable curry, mild on spice to go. He was a little hard to understand, had to listen closely as I am not used to the accent. He asked if I wanted anything else, rice? I said yes rice. About 15 minutes later he arrived with a to go package. It was so enjoyable, just the right spice level, very little and the vegetables were actually cooked, not crunchy which I like. Vegetables were, cauli, broccoli, carrots, green beans, potatoes, green pepper, mushrooms, onions. Price was $15.15 or close.

We wanted a comfortable place for our community and families to dine. Five days a week we offer breakfast and lunch featuring brunch items Saturday & Sunday. Located on Harrison Avenue in Parksville, our menus feature local, sustainable, and seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients. We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and we want to celebrate it!
Excellent breakfast in Parksville. The bacon and chorizo sausage (sourced from Port Alberni) were amazing. I did not have the ham but someone else beside us in the restaurant did and it was a thick impressive looking slice that I will order next time. Friendly staff, excellent prices. We will definitely return if we are up to this part of the Island again.

We live within walking distance of this establishment, so we have dined and entertained friends at the Black Goose. Last week we went for supper -- the restaurant was packed! We were a party of 3. The last time we ate here, my husband had a wonderful lamb burger. His was a juicy patty with mint mayo and all the fixings. I ordered that this time and I was sooooo disappointed. The patty was a tiny thin dry thing! The portions were very small as well. We are fit people who exercise and have reasonable appetites. The restaurant was full of senior citizens. We were the youngest family there. We ate our meals, drank our beautifully pulled Guinness and left. When we got home, we ordered a pizza because we were still hungry.

This sushi restaurant serves high quality sushi, rice bowls, salads, tempura, and other appetizers. The staff consists of a young Japanese couple - he does most of the cooking and she does most of the serving. There are a half dozen small tables - we reserved to get a table for 4. The food was made fresh and served quickly. The yam roll was particularly good! We also had dynamite roll, California roll, inari, and tuna roll - all very good. One of us had the chicken teriyaki bowl - it was a little too much rice compared to the amount of chicken and teriyaki sauce but was delicious. The tempura was very good - fresh, light, and not greasy. The only down side (and it's slight) is that the hours are very short (closes after dinner at 7 pm). We would definitely go again!

The food here is always exceptional. The items are obviously all prepared fresh to order with high quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and attentive, giving excellent service. Servings are generous and good value. The menu is wide ranging and they will customize your selection to order. If you have never tried Vietnamese food this is the place to give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
