Colby’s is a very established eatery in Owensboro. Great chicken tenders and the hot bacon dressing is great. This is a very lively place to eat but noisy if you want to talk in private. Just don’t talk but eat good food.

Fetta is a must try in Owensboro. The pizza was delicious. I absolutely recommend the mashed potato pizza. It was surprisingly very good. What stood out most though was the service. We visited on a very busy Friday night and service was very quick. I’ve never been anywhere where the staff was so attentive and friendly. Treated everyone like long lost friends. They alone are a good reason to try this place out. I will definitely be adding Fetta to my list of must try agains.

This is a large restaurant with appealing decor. Service was efficient and friendly. I tried the buffet, which had a marginal salad bar, soups, entree and sides and desserts. The entree and sides portion heavily favored beans and vegetables and pork and mutton. The meat was available as ribs for the pork, as well as pulled and sliced for both pork and mutton. My first time trying mutton and it was similar to pot roast in texture and flavor. The pork was over cooked. My biggest issue was it was not apparent the meat was smoked: no smoke taste, no smoke ring. It is possible that is how barbecue is done in Kentucky; it was my first time trying it.

This is a truly delightful little restaurant. This was my second time there. The service is attentive and friendly and the food far beyond what one would expect in a relatively small town in KY. Particularly astounding is the range of fresh seafood Bill manages to offer. He explained that it is flown in daily from the west coast to Louisville, then trucked to him so it is really, really fresh. Lovely stuff, carefully prepared with real creativity and very large portions. If you go to Owensboro and don't eat at Bill's, you're crazy. As many have said, make a reservation. The place is small and packed. Also have a look at the gallery upstairs, some nice local art work on display and sale.

Had a business dinner here this week. We were seated in the bar area, but that was great. There is a bar there, but also many tables. It was not too loud, which is what you get in a bar area most of the time. This was an ideal place for us as the rooms can sometimes be a bit stuffy and more difficult to have private conversations.
The menu is amazing. Offers a great selection and variety of food. From appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and main entre meals. Everything we had was unbelievable. The steaks were prepared as requested. The stuffed chicken breast was tender. Very nice. Can't wait to return.

I've been travelling lots around the south and midwest this year, eating at many BBQ places, and this is probably the worst I've had. It's not nearly as good as all the tourist brochures and accolades make it seem.
Watery BBQ sauce, small portions of store-bought sides and ordinary BBQ on small plates. It's not bad food, just very underwhelming if you have high expectations. There's another "famous" BBQ place in town that's significantly better.
On the bright side, the service is quick and it's relatively cheap.

We have been going to Famous Bistro since they opened years ago. It is our go to place for special occasions or just when we are hungry for something really really good. Small place and we do recommend reservations. Staff is wonderful and can help guide you to what you may want. Their pasta dishes are superb. Last visit my husband got the prime rib special and it was too much for him to eat. Save room for dessert!

Texas Roadhouse is a steak restaurant providing legendary food with legendary service. Texas Roadhouse specializes in hand-cut steaks, fresh-baked bread, fall-off-the-bone-ribs, and made-from-scratch sides. We also serve ice cold beer and legendary margaritas. Treat your family and friends to a night at Texas Roadhouse.
I love this Roadhouse, but since they are always packed (which is always a good sign when it comes to restaurants) eating here takes planning. I recommend call ahead seating. The staff is friendly and sometimes helpful, but the food makes up for the service. Not that it's bad, but the staff always seems over worked. The takeout service is excellent. My family holds several events there and everyone is always pleased.

Fresh stone-ground wheat to make our scratch made breads, muffins, scones, cookies, brownies, sandwiches, salads, soups, granola, yogurt parfaits.
My fiance and I stopped there for late lunch one night. Excellent sandwiches and baked goods. The staff is very personable and has a great sense of humor. (A customer called and asked if their food was all 'gluten free' - they're a bakery).

Found ourselves in Owensboro a little later in the day than expected so we decided to dine at Cheddar’s. We were immediately seated and our waitress was fantastic. The appetizer we shared was the sampler and everything on the place was good. Our main entree’s were served up quickly and they too were wonderful. Great sized portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service in a nice atmosphere. I would highly suggest trying Cheddar’s if you have never been here before.
