"Wow...really?!?" That was my reaction when I read the few poor reviews of The Iron Horse Grill. It's as if these people must be talking about a different restaurant. My colleagues and I ate there this past Wednesday. It was lunchtime. The place wasn't packed, but at least 75% capacity. Each of us ordered the beer cheese soup. I fully expected something Velveeta-based. (I moved to the midwest a year ago, and, without intentionally maligning this part of the country, I haven't exactly been impressed with the cuisine.) It was delicious. It was subtle. You could taste the beer, without tasting the alcohol. And they used REAL cheese -- the refrigerated kind! I ordered the Pastrami Reuben. It was served on dark rye, with Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. The pastrami wasn't lunchmeat. it was thick slices of pastrami, cut from a larger roast. I got mine with cole slaw, which was prepared with celery seed and a hint of horseradish. Delicious. The service was great, and the owner (or manager?) stopped by to see how we were doing. Very well, thank you. And we'll definitely return.

A charming eatery, featuring specialty coffees, teas and gourmet hot chocolate. We offer blended drinks and smoothies, as well. Try our delicious homemade pie and treats, or join us for lunch with homemade soups , sandwiches, and salads.
A new coffee house. It has a big city coffee bar atmosphere in a small town. They are one of the best I have visited and I have been to a lot of coffee shops. The use we'll roasted beans and the barista knew how to pull a terrific espresso. And, the pie are home made (really homemade) as are the cinnamon rolls, bars and muffins. Their sandwiches are fantastic and run specials daily. Two thumbs up!!

On our way home. Family Table right off the road. A little outdated, service not the quickest. However, ALL wait staff was friendly. We were there just as church crowd was arriving. But still ok. We had the buffet. Chicken was tender & tasty. Wr both ate for $18.
A lot of locals seemed to be enjoying as well.

We are a new family owned and operated restaurant. We offer a clean and friendly environment along with great food & service. Our family has always gathered around food and shared good times and made many memories. We believe that you will enjoy your experience so much you will come back again and bring your friends & family too. Easy on/off I 35. Stop by! :)
We decided to try this place as it had recently been bought and reopened. They had a buffet for this day and the food was very good. I had Baked French Toast Bananas Foster and it is addicting. Family owned and run, we plan on going again, soon. It hasn't been totally "Found" yet as they don't have a big sign up yet. It is right off Hwy 34, where Biggys used to be.

I stayed at Lakeside Hotel/Casino, to meet up with family, for a family reunion. At lunch time a cousin took "orders" from us and went to get food to bring back to the hotel. She wasn't gone long, which surprised me as there were a lot of us ordering. Every one of us were pleased with the food we got.

Staying at hotel overnight and ate dinner here. Chose the buffet after looking at the menu. Great salad bar. Hot choices were a little limited. You ate to fill yourself up and not because it was awesome. Some items were really good, the others easily passed, but that's a buffet for you. Good dessert options. Good service at the bar. A lot of locals come in here to eat and mingle around it seems like. Cheers for the Osceola.

What goes better with a big slice of pizza and a cold Pepsi? Ice cream of course. I had just stopped for a pit stop and gas at a nearby station and was making my way back to my side of the state. I came upon one of those animal figurines made of plastic I suppose out in front of this ice cream parlor. A black and white spotted thing asking you to literally stop what you are doing and stop for a cold treat. The day I stopped in it was a balmy 90 degree day. I think it may be the last hot and humid day of the year so I thought why not? To my astonishment and delight they offered(among other flavors) lemon flavored ice cream! Lemon! Had to try it. It was very creamy and delicious. Needless to say it was by far one of the BEST tasting lemon ice cream dish I have ever had. The place looked busy and clean. Others I saw there looked happy with their orders. Small parking area right off a busy highway. In my opinion, this is the place you go to for your ice cream when in the Osceola, Iowa area.

Server was hardly into her job. Watched tables be left unbussed for the entire hour we were there. Facility is poorly kept; dirty and seats are falling apart. I have eaten at many different pizza huts, and I think this place uses their own recipes. It was substandard across the board.
