I have visited this place multiple times during my stay in Opava. I have to say, the big advantage is this is a non-smoking facility, which is still nothing common in Czech Republic (as smoking is still allowed inside bars & restaurants).
The service was great, pretty warm inside, helpful and attentive staff. Definitely recommending!

Good food, nice place, non-smoking restaurant. Great Czech cuisine. I had fish as well and it was delicious. Also good for lunch - they offer special menu, usually one of them is special and more expensive and one of the is vegetarian.

GB: I am really bad, because restaurant U Babičky (Near my grandma) have best design in shop center Breda & Weinstein, but food is not good.
CZ: Jsem zklamán, protože vypadá designem nejlíp, ale vaří tam hůř než u Japonců nebo Číňanů vedle. (Svíčková = 8 knedlíků a malinký pláteček masa)

As in my other review from Opava. One needs to like Czech Cuisine to appreciate restaurant like "U Krbu". I was there for lunch. Had a leg of duck -- very nicely crispy done, with overcooked sauerkraut (OK, let us name it -- very "well done" sauerkraut -- which means that it was sauerkraut that had almost no texture --- but this is the way it should have been) and knedliky. I could not have a beer as I was leaving after lunch (driving).
Duck was very good; I like this form of sauerkraut so it was good and knedliky were good. Of course this is NOT cuisine for someone who looks for fitness / fresh salads etc.
So, if you like the Czech food -- I recommend this restaurant.

They brew their own beer, that's most important reason why you should visit.
Beer is great, food as well. Go with spare ribs or something lighter like hermelin.
Staff is very warm and helpful.
And the best thing - you can buy their beer in PET bottles to go.

Fairly nicely refurbished 70' building offers fast service, draft beer from tank and ok meals for moderate price. Although the restaurant somehow lacks an atmosphere (unless you are drinking with a good party of friends) and pizza is destroyed by the cheapest so-called "mozarella" (it rather tastes like cement), overall feeling is not bad. Perhaps thanks to the one of the best soups I have ever had.

Being curious about this restaurant after hearing a lot of positive opinions, we decided to visit Pansky mlyn with my wife and her parents. The place itself is charming and quite, the owners have likely a lot of plans for future (judging by several facilities under contruction). Food was really ok, tasty and for reasonable price, 1* is unfortunately deducted for unconcerned and slow service.

Příjemné rustikální prostředí pod malovanými klenutými stropy, víkendové, degustační a tematické večery. Venkovní posezení ve francouzském stylu. Tradiční mezinárodní kuchyně v moderním pojetí, kde je kladen důraz na estetiku. Vlastní dezerty a dorty na míru.
Gastronomic scene in Opava has been fairly average for many years - there was not an appropriate place where to take e.g. business partners for dinner. Then finally came chef Radim Svacina and beaten down all the competition. Uncommon setting in an historical building makes a very special atmosphere and the meals themselves are top. Although some details still need improvement, there is no doubt U Premka is currently the best restaurant in Opava. Tip: in case you are on tight budget, try their menu / business menu offered every working day.

Today I tried both cheesecake and cake from cheese (two different ones :D) and they were both great! You can choose from various coffees and various decaffeinated coffees, which I specially appreciated. As a bonus, you have six cats to cuddle with in this café. They are fluffy, but they are little lazy so they don't want to play or be touched all the time. Anyway, me and my boyfriend felt really conformable at this place.
