Liv's is the brainchild of John Brescio. He is a French Culinary Institute-trained chef who worked at Tavern on the Green and Judson Grill in New York as well as Aux Delices in Greenwich. Liv's is names for the Brescio's young daughter Olivia, a photogenic tyke whose black and white blowups grace the walls. 'The combination of easy comfort and really good food makes Liv's Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook such a find' - The NY Times.
Tried Liv's Saturday evening. Ordered dinner of scallops, portion is appetizer size and obviously precooked as we were served within 5 minutes after placing order. Wife ordered swordfish which was slightly larger portion but also precooked. Restaurant is noisy, overpriced (a la carte entrees $28 & 29) precooks its meal, service was fine & friendly but would prefer watching a movie at this theatre turned restaurant. Will not return.

This place is great. I love their froyo flavors, and they always have a great selection of toppings. The rewards program is great for regulars too. They are also very attentive to food allergies and have all of the froyo recipes in a binder to make sure that you or your little one doesn't have a reaction to anything.

The lunch was fantastic! Soup and a sandwich was outstanding! Then the desserts! I can't tell you how delicious everything that I tried was! Simply delectable cookies, cakes, scones. Soon I will have tried everything! We were able to eat outside in December! It was lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This place is a great little coffee joint. EVERYONE in town comes here and you can often find a line.
The food here is incredible! Their bagel selection is unbelievable, I love the French toast bagel toasted with cream cheese, unreal. Their sausage cheese biscuit is the best breakfast sandwich you will put in your mouth ( I love it because there is no egg), these go fast and are homemade. It is pretty heavy and filling.
The coffee I have found to be okay. I drink mostly espresso. The lattes are made with cold brew instead of espresso, do when I order my lattes I usually ask for "hot shots" instead of cold brew. They are much better served this way. The cappuccinos are pretty delicious I might add.
All in all we find ourselves coming here every weekend for breakfast when we visit. The staff is super friendly and very patient. A cute place that is always packed with regulars enjoying coffee and a good conversation.

I've had numerous meals at the Fresh Salt and every one has been amazing. The lobster roll is a buttery taste explosion. The New England Clam Chowder is fantastic and I always start with that. When I don't get the lobster roll and try another of their seafood offerings I'm never disappointed.
The desserts are always a treat and I always get something chocolatey. Even though I shouldn't.

A community cornerstone – a general store in 1790, the town’s first pharmacy in 1877, and later a soda fountain where townspeople would gather. Now, this historic building has been lovingly repurposed into an elegant Bed & Breakfast. Three guest rooms feature four-poster beds with luxurious Italian linens, modern oversized showers, and gas fireplaces. As a nod to the soda counter, today’s patrons are tempted by Italian gelato, made daily on the premises.
After a ten mile bike ride this was the perfect spot for some nourishment. And since I was with my sister I got to sample two smoothies. The choices were endless and the young women on staff helped us choose. I got the chocolate cherry smoothie and my sister got the vanilla chai with protein powder. Hers was a bit sweeter than mine, but both were yummy. The only downside was the cleanliness of the shop. We were there at 10 am and it looked like whoever closed the night before forgot to sweep and wipe down the tables. I will go back for gf ice cream cones.

Love, love, love this place. The selection of prepared foods is bountiful and every single meal I have had has been excellent. During a recuperation from surgery, my co-workers brought 6 different dishes from PV for me and everyone cooked perfect. Service has always been outstanding. If you don't feel like cooking, go to PV and you will have a home cooked meal in minutes!

My wife and I were out on a Tuesday night and decided to stop in and have a quick meal at Aspen. We we both disappointed with our meals, not enough to send back to the kitchen but just enough to know we won't be back. Menu needs a refresh for sure. My wife had the fried oyster small plate and the oysters were cold! My burger was just ok, so all in all I don't believe in just ok

We went to Monkey Farm on Saturday. A 'typical' cafe with good food, friendly staff and a neat atmosphere. Not your normal "BIKER BAR". Food was great, the seafood bisque was awesome as was the French Onion soup. We had the Roastbeef sandwich and the...More?
