Olbia (Italian: [ˈɔlbja] ( listen), locally [ˈolbja]; Sardinian: Terranòa; Gallurese: Tarranòa) is a city and comune of 59,885 inhabitants (November 2016) in the Italian insular province of Sassari in northeastern Sardinia (Italy), in the Gallura sub-region. Called Olbia in the Roman age, Cività in the Middle Ages (Giudicati period) and Terranova Pausania before the 1940s, Olbia was again the official name of the city during the period of Fascism.

The menu was so exciting.
We skipped over so many lower priced restaurants.
Place is packed.
Big mistake!!!!
Over priced salty or sweet.
Nothing on the menu was better than tolerable.....
We ate seven different plates!!
Seriously skip this place and eat at the places on the main Street.
So disappointed

For food lovers. Do not be fooled by the exterior sign or the entrance. Inside is a top rank restaurant. The room is wood paneled and nice in every way. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is the star. Had the mixed seafood...MoreHello mr. Not easy to find but the wait was worth it.
Splendid view from this property located on top of the hill, over the region and over the surrounding vegetation.
Warm welcome by people who obviously have the right customer service attitude.
No menu to choose from: they bring the antipasti, delicatesse, stuffed veges, cheese etc (nice but too much),
Then come the pasta: ricotta ravioli, gnocchi and a special pasta with cheese and meat (quite tasty),
Then the main course, carrot and celery with roasred suckling pig (excellent),
And of course dessert with different ricotta cheese with honey, yummy!
All of this with a jug of white wine, just ok, and a jug of red, full bodied and absolutely delicious: locally made of course.
To help you to digest, you must taste the home made grappa, and they serve it generously...
A great and authentic experience!

The Trattoria Moderna " Il Mattacchione" is a small restaurant located in the north part of Olbia, not far from the main road that take you to the harbor, to the airport and to Costa Smeralda. In this small family-run trattoria, with about 35 seats inside and other 35 seats outside(only during the summertime),you will be greeted with courtesy and professionalism. In the trattoria " Il Mattacchione" you can dive into the Sardinian's culinary tradition, reviewed with the eyes of a young couple,Giuseppe and Rossella, who have a deep love for their land and for all the products it offers. And so driven by a strong passion for food and for cooking, that Giuseppe will make you healthy meals prepared with fresh ingredients. Quality, professionalism and courtesy are the keywords of the Trattoria Moderna "Il Mattacchione".
Great service great food
I would never come in when I pass this restaurant but after reviews I could read on TripAdvisor we decide to come here. It was really good idea. You will not get lot food for main course because this is not this kind of restaurant. Here you can feel fusion meal !!!
If you want to try you are welcome
My wife doesn't like desert but when she tried here she got culinary orgasm ;)

When you arrive, you can see that Bacchus looks and feels a bit classy and their menu and service reflects that. The food was really really tasteful, plates were creative, the staff was knowledgeable about their menu and very helpful. They even offered 'simple' food for the kids. The best part is the price which is on the low side for the quality of food we had. In conclusion, a highly recommendable place for a dinner that's a bit more than pasta/pizza!

Agriturismo Agrisole is located in a quiet corner of north-eastern Sardinia. The restaurant, which is colorful and furnished in a way that recalls the memory of old rural environments, the hearty hospitality and the soft enjoyable music, wrap our guest in a relaxing atmosphere, ideal to enjoy the excellent products that the generous Sardinian land offers.
This is a perfect place to experience the Sardinian kitchen. You will get multiple small dishes with Sardinian specialities to taste. All together it is so much you will feel like you are pregnant at the end. Please be aware that they have a set...MoreDear Nienke :-), thank you so much for your fantastic review and I hope to meet you again at Agrisole to be able to thank you personally. A true gem. Valentina is super nice and a wonderful host. The agriturismo is located just outside Olbia and everything is within easy reach by car. The breakfast was abundant and everything was locally produced. The WLAN worked perfectly and everything was very clean. We highly recommend this place. Grazie per tutto!

Pizza is one of the things that makes our Country proud. Since 1988 we work with high quality and genuine products, to offer the best pizza in Olbia. Just visit us, and you'll discover that everything we say is true.
We were looking for somwhere to eat and checked out reviews on TripAdvisor so decided to visit Pizzeria Funchal on our last evening in Sardinia - we were so glad that we chose here. It is on a main road on the very edge of town, with plenty of car parking so don't expect a bistro/taverna looking building in the pretty lanes of the old town. We arrived just after they had opened for the evening so we were the only customers there at that time and we were welcomed and seated very promptly. There was a steady flow of customers coming in after us - locals and tourists. The restaurant is family run, very welcoming - nothing fancy, just very comfortable - all that you need. The waiter (owner/son of owner? - sorry I can't remember) was so friendly and helpful and made our visit very special - he had time to have a chat with all the customers at their tables. Both of the pizzas that we had and the desserts were great - the best pizzas that we had during our visit to Sardinia - simple, honest, very tasty and represented fantastic value for money. If we had stayed in Sardinia for longer we probably would have gone to Pizzeria Funchal again. We highly recommend a visit.

We ate here twice and it was 2 times amazing ! We reserverd for a second time after the first, because we saw so many other menu items we wanted to try. First time we had prawns and mullet carpaccio as a starter , wich were amazingly tastfull ! Seabass and salmon as maincourses were very good to. After that i tried the sardine sweets , who are from local "Loi pattisery ", very good, and we visited that a day after to get some sweets for back home. Second time we had tuna and monkfish as a sarter , wich were so delicious. Maincourses little fried squids and crispy prawns were up to standard as we expected ! Desert, we had lemon sorbet and warm chocolat pie,... wauw. So good. I almost wanted to order 1 more chocolat pie, i couldnt get enought. Including the service and wine suggestions we had from our sommeliers we had an excellent experience here and we would definately recommend anybody to eat here ! Just make sure you make a reservation because its almost fully booked everytime (no suprise here ), we were very lucky to be walking in on our first day and made a reservation straight away after dinner for our second time.
To bad we have to leave tomorrow, because we would of gone a third time for sure.

We came early this Saturday to be sure we would have a spot. A good idea, as the place filled up very fast. Before 7.30pm, it was already packed.
The food was great. Simple, but nice and very affordable (certainly for Sardinian standards). Finally, good pasta in great portions. And the pizza was very good. Tasteful and fresh ingredients.
On top of it all, the staff was nice and you can park in front. What's not to like?
