Knowledgeable staff too. Pleasant surroundings. Very popular Friday evening when we went. Suspect booking sensible in busy season.

Embora quando se entre se perceba que gelados é com eles, não deixe de experimentar os maginificos croissants que a Mabi apresenta!
Although when you enter, you realize that ice-creams is one of their strengths, do not hesitate in tasting the magnificent croissants that they present!

Wonderful spot on the shore! It is the perfect place to enjoy fresh fish and the sunset. My personal favorites for the two afternoons we spent there where the grilled sardines (full of taste and savor), complemented by a bottle 2015 Barrique Selected Branco from Herdade do Sabroso (many of them, to tell the truth).

First thing to note this place is not in Sao Teotonio - it's in Brejao, off the road in the way to Odeceixe from Sao Teotonio. I should really have mentioned this in my first review! It's just before the crossroads in Brejao, there is a large parking area opposite. Anyway - this is a very reliable locals restaurant that does good unpretentious food, cooked well and with good service. Helpfully it has an English menu too. It has nothing to sell it in terms of location or view, but fish dishes are tasty and the meat is very good quality. They have nice half bottles of wine too which is handy if only one of you is drinking. For price and quality, it is far better than some of the other more pricey restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.

phone: Entrada da Barca; 283 961151. This is a fantasitc fish restaurant , at the top of the jetty they have fresh fish daily. Great seafood, Alentejo specialties, cakes and service, all the locals and fishermen hang out there. Indoor restaurant and patio tables. Superb
This restaurant was rated highly by a travel book. The place is seaside, by the fishing boats, and has old world charm. They serve a variety of fresh fish. We ordered the fish stew which was boney fish parts with potatoes, tomatoes and green pepper. This dish was large enough for 4 persons and very bland. It was full of the remnants of fish, mostly bones. OK, so we eat like the locals and have decided they don't care for flavorful dishes. The octopus salad, served warm with roasted garlic and olive oil was the best! A slice of bread with this starter and a glass of wine would have made for a perfect light dinner.

We choose the prawn curry & vegetarian curry. Both were good, however I choose medium spice and found it too mild, so would recommend you choose the spicy option. In my prawn curry there were lots of vegetable (cooked perfectly al dente) & lots of prawns. Had a large selection of wines by the glass. I choose the recommended red, which was very nice. For dessert, we shared the creen brûlée, which was really good & a huge portion, so sharing between two was perfect. We were there on a Monday night & the restaurant was very busy. We did not have a reservation & we were able to get a table, however might be a good idea to reserve a table in advance. Would highly recommend & would definitely eat here again, if I was back in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

Terrible esperience in this restaurant.
We ordered a soup and it was quite normal but the best surprise was the pizza....
we arrived late at night and the waiter suggested us to order a pizza (he said it was really big).
We taught that the kitchen was closing and we took it.....
First time arrive on our table a "pizza" with the dough absolutely raw...it was impossible to eat....
The waiter has seen our difficulties to ate it and, after the obvious question "is good???",brought it away...
Second time he brought us probably the same kind of pizza (frozen we think) with the dough cooked and the rest burnt...
Also the cat under our table refused it...
Simply two word : never again.
Ps.the only human thing was the waiter's embarrassed.....

I write this review to help the extremely kind staff of this restaurant. The restaurant must indeed be extremely good. We arrived at 12:15 on a Saturday during the touristic high season. This is not normal time to have lunch in Portugal, especially on a Saturday, but I guess our intuition was on to something before we knew for sure. We found out that there was no chance of having lunch that day... There were no less than 60 people on a waiting list. The room takes 30. It's easy to imagine the waiting time. Understandably, the restaurant takes no Reservations. The only way to eat avoiding a long wait is to arrive pretty early. I overheard people talking about 11:00ish. This is simply crazy! Since this is an authentic touristic cul de sac, we ordered some cold food from the bar and converted it in our lunch. It was very good.
So, please, stop coming here during high season. The poor staff cannot handled it anymore.

Whenever you need a safe choice to please your kids and yourself, pizza is the option to go. If it happens that you are near Zambujeira do Mar, São Teotónio and Odeceixe, don't worry you have a very good option. Il Padrino not only has the owner itself making you delicious pizzas, but also an oven with a real wood fire. Good value for money.

Me and my friends were looking for a good Italian place and we're almost deterred by the long wait and the bad service to the other guests. We decided to wait and have the meal there. After having to point out that there we're tables available we finally sat and had dinner. All 4 pizzas were flawlessly prepared but the service bad as our wait prepared us to expect.
Promising place to have a good meal, stained by the lack of organisation and preparation for the high season demand.
