I admit my expectations were not high for this little storefront restaurant. But after two fine experiences, I highly recommend it. Our most recent meal was takeout sandwiches and desserts. Portions are generous, and one sandwich is plenty for two with normal appetites to share. The Tom Turkey got rave reviews, as did the club wrap. The potato salad was exceptional — likely better than any you remember. And coconut cream pie, lemon bar and Key Lime pie were off the charts good. Try it — dine in or carry out!

Established in 2014 to bring quality coffee, small kitchen meals, real fruit smoothies, organic baked goods completed by people with a passion for serving.
Nice place for a coffee break. Smoothies are also good. Prices are a little pricey, considering it's not Starbucks and the only coffee shop without going over the bridge it's still well worth the price!

This quiet little restaurant was the perfect setting for a family New Years celebration.
The service was exceptional.
The food DELICIOUS! and plentiful.
Everyone in our party felt satisfied and eager to return for another wonderful meal
(Even the vegetarian in our group found appetizers and entrees to their liking)
This will definitely be a frequented haunt for this local!

For and service are very good, but to me, I think they are pretty pricey. Menu includes pastas, pizzas and calzones.

Well I have been to this bakery in Shallotte twice now and I have to tell you I can't stop getting the same thing for my family for dessert. Their tre leche cake is delicious!!! Everyone loves it when I bring it home. I haven't tried anything else there. I do not know what the average prices are for cakes these days from a bakery because I rarely buy them, but their cakes are around $25.00 each. The tre leche cake is only around $8.00 including tax, that's another reason love it!

The Purple Onion Cafe opened on Main Street in Shallotte in 2004. Since then they have become a community favorite serving locals & visitors breakfast and lunch with a delicious menu of pastries, traditional breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.
I live in the area and visit this restaurant often for breakfast and lunch. It is usually better than average quality of food. However the restaurant could use a good cleaning and some refreshing. I was recently disappointed to be served shredded iceberg lettuce on a Cesar salad. I was told they had recently changed the lettuce and given about $2 off my lunch without much concern about my dissatisfaction.

Always stop by the Creamery every time in Ocean Isle Beach. Since the ice cream is made on the premises, the flavors change somewhat -although they always have the popular flavors like chocolate, butter pecan, etc. Just good ice cream. (They even have soft serve but I suggest the homemade ice cream).

This was my second visit to the filling station. I picked up a variety in order for us to sample the different flavors. I thought they were all delicious. While I have already developed some favorites ( pb&j and Reese's) the others disappeared just as quickly. They seem to sell out quickly so there is benefit to getting there early. While the overall experiences have been good, I wish the staff was a bit more friendly and welcoming. Also, I didn't know at the time they have more in the back so not necessarily just what is in the glass case.
