The Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region (Spanish: VI Región del Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins pronounced [liβeɾtaˈðoɾ xeneˈɾal βeɾˈnaɾðo oˈçiɣins]), often shortened to O'Higgins Region, is one of Chile's 15 first order administrative divisions. It is subdivided into three provinces. It is named in honor of Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme, one of Chile's founding fathers.

The place is so crowded they have terrible service, their premises are rather lousy, in order to be in the nice area you have to be friends with the owner. their main thing is the size of dishes which does not mean quality; this place is like BUILD YOUR FAME and then rest to sleep, it is not cheap I discourage going there.

Specializing in an Italian cuisine with Mediterranean and American touches, Ristorante Vino Bello is set in a restored foreman's adobe building in the heart of the Colchagua wine valley. Surrounded by the beautiful Laura Hartwig vineyards and the snow-capped Andes in the distance, Ristorante Vino Bello was originally the first Italian restaurant in the Santa Cruz area and after over five years, continues to serve exquisite plates, from homemade pastas to artisanal pizzas to specialty meat. So come enjoy a glass of wine from our extensive wine list and indulge in our delicious homemade tiramisu!
We found our dinner very pleasant, with a nice view of the vineyards. Similar to Casa Colchagua, we found the food good but not great and with a rather limited wine selection by the glass. Meals in Santa Cruz definitely seem to be better during lunch at the vineyards (Clos Apalta, Casa Silva, Montes), but the food here was good and the environment was romantic and relaxing.

Hay ostras y por supuesto la carta esta maridada con los mejores vinos de la viña. Abierto al almuerzo todo el año
We had lunch there after touring the winery. The view from the patio is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is very good. It got very busy after we were seated, so time your arrival. Most people seemed to come (for lunch) close to 1400 hrs. Service can be leisurely, so don't be in a hurry. We recommend it highly.

We took the 10:30 AM tour which takes you around the vineyard in a horse drawn carriage. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Once indoors, we tasted wine directly from the steel vats as part of the tour. The tasting that follows was quite informative. Following out tour, we stayed for lunch. The food was delicious with excellent service.

Casa Silva's Restaurant offers an unique environment, ideal to enjoy with family, friends or for a romantic dinner. Between the vineyards and its Polo course, the restaurant brings a warm and relaxing experience. With a gastronomic propposal that remembers traditional and countryside Chilean homefood, its dishes are recognized by its simplicity and delicate flavours. Some of the specialties are Chilean classics, such as sweet corn pie, cazuela, red wine cooked leg of lamb with mashed potatoes, also grilled fishes and red meats. The ingredients come from Colchagua Valley, giving a unique endemic view of Chilean preparations: from its olive oil that comes from Puente Negro, till traditional jerky meat and vegetables that come from small local producers. This restaurant is well known not only by its great dishes but also by its quality and warm service, who are specialized in pairing and wine advice. We recommend to make Reservations. We'll be happy to receive you!
This winery restaurant has long hours and a good location about 90 minutes south of the Santiago airport, ideally placed for travelling to and from the Colchagua valley. Food is good; wine is excellent; service is acceptable. The "Clubhouse" is set far back into the vineyards, doubling as the viewing area for the polo field. Which produces our one complaint: anywhere there are horses, there are also flies. When there is no polo game, and thus no horses to host the flies, they can bother the diners. The barbecue is a central feature, and we enjoyed a nice piece of chicken. We tried to reserve by email a few days in advance, but had no response. It's large enough that a couple is unlikely to be turned away without a reservation.

We had dinner at La Famiglia last night and will return tonight. We split a delicious mushroom pizza and a salad each and the portions were just right. Bread was served beforehand. Pannacotta with chocolate was very good. Service by Eduardo was perfect!

We were told this restaurant served the traditional Chilean dishes instead of international cuisine. There were only three such traditional dishes on the menu and they were out of one of them. Too bad. Don't go here expecting to eat traditional local food. The outdoor eating area is very pleasant surrounded by vineyard.

No one with any degree of disability should visit this place, especially because the food and service are mediocre. The entrance to the "restaurant" -- which is only an outdoor area that can be VERY windy -- requires careful stepping up and down over a "bridge" of rough old railway ties over a concrete pond. If you need the bagno, it is an impossible 24 steps up -- on similar rough old wood -- and 24 steps back down. This is the most inaccessible public place I have ever seen. We tried to make the best of it. Our waiter kept forgetting to bring things we asked for. Our starter of marinated octopus was just OK. The main course was a slab of bland fish. The only good point was that it was prepared almost as rare as we had ordered (poco cocida). The wine, of course, was excellent. Montes/Kaiken wines are recognized internationally, which is why we decided to have lunch at the winery. I will be reluctant to buy any more of their brands when we are back in Canada, because I will be reminded of the incompetent, inconsiderate design of the property. The views are wonderful, but we can see them from the car on the road.

Puralma Experience Its a Cooking Show , rescuing the culinary traditions of the Begginis of the Republic of Chile, ancient recipes and dishes with history re edited. Kitchen with of the original peoples of Chile and Spanish roots, a mixed kitchen, where past and present come together for a delicious and original product, mixing the products of our Chile Deep and centenary with the most modern techniques of world cuisine. a reunion with our republican roots
We were treated to an amazing socio-culinary experience at Puralma in Santa Cruz. A combination of great food and wine pairings in the context of Chilean history and culture, all presented by a charming, eloquent host, Christian, who is clearly very passionate about his food and work and very willing to share. Not necessarily haute cuisine, but great variety, taste, and presentation which cumulatively created a fantastic, memorable meal fit for foodies or casual diners looking for a transcendent experience. We had the added bonus of being there with another couple on New Year's Eve and being welcomed into the family's celebrations. Our sincere appreciation for a truly amazing evening in all regards!
