We ate here for lunch, when the crowds are on the mountain. We had an EXCELLENT meal of sushu, edamame, udon and sake. The server was helpful and funny and spoke english. For evening meals, everyplace in the little town needs a reservation, so our lunch time visit was well planned. each evening, there was a line waiting to eat.

The Craft Room is Nozawa Onsen's top apres bar and cafe in and the first to offer premium coffee and craft beer. The ski in / ski out location near the Nagasaka Gondola makes it the perfect place to take a break from a day on the slopes and enjoy premium coffee and Nozawa's best selection of craft beer. Sit at the keyaki bar and look out at snow falling on the ski slopes before heading out for another run.
This is a good hole-in-the-wall, mid morning coffee or après ski beer spot. Does excellent coffees and hot chocolate, good cold beer and average food and wine. It's rather hipster, and was in dire need of a good clean and better ventilation - the fried food smell! - when I was there, but hard to find a better spot in Nozawa for a beer with fiends post-skiing.

A short wait. A limited number of tables. Service was quick efficient and friendly. Food was delicious, well presented and tasty. Our best noodles and soup. Ordered extra tempura- veggies. Most accomodating. Clean and despite the limited number of tables it did not feel crowded.

Been here twice, hard to find in the basement of a building on the main strip. Warm welcoming atmosphere great food, Chasu Ramen and gyoza are good, fried squid is the best I've had anywhere in the world.

Right at the bottom of the slopes, easy to get to,NEOBAR is a chillax spot for a crepe or beer after a days skiing or boarding. The top floor feels like your are in someones living room then a traditional restaurant with couches instead of the typical table and dining chair set-up. That is where the main eating area is. We have a local beer, many alcohol selection. Also in the daytime you can see the ski jump area of the mountain. Good snow! Good music! Good vibes only!
We had our best night out in town here. Very relaxed and a lot more space than the other restaurants. Great drinks and food. We couldn’t get the hot pot as it was booked out for the next 5 days but the al a carte meals were great. We all enjoyed our meals. We all ordered the gratins - highly recommend and the Nozawa pizza. Hot sake very good. All local ingredients.
Came again the next day for crepes. Close enough to ski field to return after an afternoon break,

Really enjoyed this quaint little cafe. I loved looking at the little figurines everywhere, definitely one of the owners is obsessed with cats! Coffee was great and they offered soy milk which was a welcome bonus for us. Didn't enjoy the cheesecake as much though, a bit dry for me. Definitely recommend stopping by, great area at the top of the hill here too with a spectacular view.

The coffee is Allpress and tastes just like home. (And so it should as it came from NZ
originally I think). The baristas are all excellent and fortunately they also do their thing up at the base where Haus St Anton have a small cafe/rental shop.
You can get your early morning coffee down in the Main Street and have another as you head for the gondola -perfect!
Love the way they recycle the coffee cups too.

Rare place here that you can get a free in without a booking.
Ver my warm and traditional food. Friendly staff.
Service very slow at peak times (6-8) but great food and reasonably priced. Two mains and a miso and a drink coming in at under $30. For a town packed to the rafters with Aussie tourists that's a good price.

Good izakaya food with friendly owners. They have a private room that takes about 12-16 pax. Conveniently located slightly up from the village, it’s food is good and prices reasonable. We particularly enjoy their yakitori offerings.
