With stunning sea views and a varied menu coupled with helpful amiable staff, what's not to like? Had a bacon roll with a coffee - and sat at a window seat looking at the sea - beautiful! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit - the changing colours of sea and sky are much admired throughout the year . Do come again !

We were really looking forward to our meal, as we'd heard good things. I ordered the lobster, a special treat at a supplementary price, and waited while some of our party had starters. When the lobster arrived, the claw had been beautifully extracted, but the dish looked very dry. It took me a few minutes to get the tail out of the shell - I had to really tug - and then I could hardly cut through it. One bite was enough. It was all gristle, stringy and totally tasteless. I summoned the young waiter, who offered to fetch a steak knife! (As if that would make it better to eat!). The chef did offer to cook something else, but as everyone had by now finished their second course and I had eaten nothing, I just asked for the cold fish starter platter. It took nearly half an hour to come.
What can I say? In a week on the Outer Isles, it was our only really poor experience. We had a number of truly excellent meals, but not, alas, at Langass Lodge.
Our young waiter was polite and did his best, but the staff did seem hard pressed. No sign of a manager. The chef, it seems, merely said 'it was fine when it left the kitchen'.
I have news: it wasn't.
PS We were staying in the hotel. Breakfast was good.

It was raining so the cafe was popular and busy with visitors. The crew handled the crowd well and the simple menus allowed for the service to be maintained.

We are a small establishment with only 9 tables therefore booking essential for evening meals.
Six of us had a lovely meal. Informal and friendly with a very family feel about the whole experience.
Excellent food!
The Crofter platter, starter and main, was a treat and all meals were delicious and delivered in a timely fashion.
My first visit to Westford Inn for about 25 years but I'll be back next time I'm home in Uist.

The Lobster Pot tearoom is a lovely spot to stop for either a snack or a meal. It is situated just north of the Calmac ferry pier to Harris on the island of Berneray. Food is excellent. It is an ideal place to sit and wait if you are too early for the ferry or if you are in the hostel on Berneray. Views from the tearoom are lovely, especially if it is an nice day and you are sitting on the picnic benches outside. The ladies in the tearoom are lovely - especially when nattering away in Gaelic!
Well, that wasn't the best tearoom we've seen.
Although, apparently unlike other reviewers here, service was very friendly (to us) I can also confirm the overpriced crab sandwiches, the pad WiFi and above all the, to say the least, *very* strange choice in children's toys they sell in their souvenir shop: Golliwogs!
Let me repeat, Golliwogs, in 2017. Ahem. (Or did I miss some hidden historical connection to Golliwogs as typical for Berneray?)
But apparently the Tearoom is for sale again - wishing the successors to the current owners all the best - the location and views are stunning.

We went for lunch here on a cold, windy day when there were no other customers. The TV was tuned to a music channel and was so loud I couldn't chat to my other half. As there was nobody else in the lounge bar I asked if it could be turned down. The barmaid /waitress turned it down but only a tiny bit, so not much difference. We both had fish and chips. The fish was fine but the chips were poor. Soggy and warm - not hot. The meal came with salad which was an odd choice with fish and chips. I asked for veg instead and was told I could have that as a side, at extra cost. Fair enough. The salad was ok but covered in a strange dressing and the veg was overcooked and not very nice. We decided not to risk pudding and won't be going back.

We had three evening meals here during our visit to the Uists. All were excellent and we noted that there were changes to the menu every evening. The fish dishes were particularly tasty and returning for three meals out of four during our stay speaks for itself. On the fourth evening, we found ourselves at the southern end of the Islands, rather than the north, otherwise it would have been four out of four. Service was excellent every evening.
