When we moved to Rhode Island. I was 5 and Allies made having to attend fire and brimstone mass worthwhile because we'd get Allies afterward. I treat my office colleagues to Allies once in awhile but recently we had a family reunion of sorts and I went to get doughnuts on a summer Sunday morning. Mistake. 30 minute wait and at least 8 types I wanted were not available even with more waiting. Very disappointing. But the doughnuts are still the best anywhere.

Walk into Updike's Newtown on any given day and just ask, "What's roasted?" Mark, the owner, or one of his baristas will ask you if you want light or dark roast, and then run down the list of small-batch, single origin beans available that day, and what he is expecting later in the week. The roaster is right behind the counter, and if you come in at the right time, you'll smell the wonderful aroma of coffee beans roasting. Husband and I prefer light-roast coffees from Central America, but he has beans from Africa, the South Pacific, South America...it all depends on what is in season. I buy it by the pound, whole bean, and brew it every day at home. Buy it by the cup, hot or iced, and a sit back and relax with a locally-made pastry and free wi-fi. I am forever spoiled for large coffee chains and grocery store products, and have been known to go without coffee rather than buy it elsewhere :)

As a 2 year+ customer of Rasa I will not be returning, and will advise my friends, family and coworkers to do the same... Service is always spotty, and having to deal with one particular waiter who asks me out and or hits on me whenever I dine in has worn thin. I go there to eat, not play love connection. BUT after all the bad experiences, and burnt food it's time to call it quits. During my last trip to Rasa I was told I would have to pay extra for free chips that are brought when you first sit down, what??!! Good attempt at trying to shake down customers. So unclassy. I'll drive a little further for my Indian food thank you!

What a great find. Small place that serves some of the best sandwiches around. Awesome selection of food all written out on the blackboards. Something for every type of food lover. The gobbler was awesome. Big sandwich on great roll. Tight confines so get there early.

The thermometer hit 100 degrees and we hit the ice cream shop. This ice cream is homemade and delicious. I loved my chocolate fudge brownie. My husband had coconut almond. He loved it.

PPB is where everybody seems to meet for drinks and a meal. It's very casual ,but better to reserve ahead . Their menu has enough items to choose ,from fish to meat and the occasional veggie burger that seems has become a fixture for basic restaurants who want to offer an alternative . The dishes we ordered were tasty , well balanced and typically American . Large. My burger was what I would expect , there's no soul searching in the kitchen , just solid cooking.
If your in the area look it up
Good prices , large drink list from what I saw as we were seated near a row of champagne bottles

Hadn't been to Jiggers in nearly 52 years....so when I was back in town and solo, I had this on my list of must-visits. Better than I remembered it. A great breakfast, reasonably priced, in a completely updated and cleaned-up surrounding. I'm told their Johnny Cakes are superb...but I had no room after my very basic breakfast (scrambled eggs, link sausage, home fries and baked beans) , but very delicious choice.

Driving by, starving and stopped for lunch. Food was great as was the service. Highly recommend it.
Chicken salad and egg salad are terrific as are the young ladies behind the counter. You can't go wrong stopping here, especially for the quality and quantity of the servings!

This casual yet elegant restaurant features eclectic new-American cuisine and a carefully chosen wine list that includes twenty wines by the glass and many more by the bottle. We can not take reservations for the bar or bar area/lounge, those seats are first come fist serve only, thanks
excellent pizza and pasta in an upscale environment. plenty of parking and fast and friendly service. We had an assortment of pizzas, trying most of them and all were good. Beer on tap was good with several local and regional varieties.

When we first entered the place it was very chilly. Then we saw food on the floor and asked to move to another table. Our waitress, Kendra, was super sweet & efficient and actually diminished our original reservations about the place. The food was tasty. We were all satisfied & topped it off with Ice cream!
