Unpretentious is an understatement. Centered in a strip mall, nothing will draw you in. Far from fancy, the place is meticulously clean. Dare to enter and you will be rewarded. Orders are placed at an entry counter. The menu is on the wall. Once you are seated, they deliver to your table.
From a welcome greeting at front door, all staff were friendly and helpful, not to mention full of charm and humor.
Two of our foursome had BBQd beef ribs, true finger food. Sloppy? You bet. And they could use some Handi-wipes to go with their paper napkins. I had tri-tips. It would have been difficult to cut the meat with the plastic cutlery, but it was sliced in bite-sized portions on my plate. Easy forking. We all raved about taste of delightful servings. Attentive servers replenished our soft drinks without our asking.
Wife Gretchen gave House of Chicken & Ribs 4 stars. She ordered flips which were freshly made potato chips, still warm when served. Side orders (two per order), served in individual platic cups, were nice Southern addition.
I saw there were a few earlier reviews complaining of the service, but it may have been racism (all staff are on-the-ball African-Americans). Our dinner for four came to $90 with tip. A tad pricey, but well worth it. Highly recommended but don’t confuse it with fine dining.

We travel to Cuba in November and visited Sol Cubano to get a taste of what to expect. My wife went to Cuba in 2010 and the food was not good due to the embargo. Information available now, and at the restaurant, says now it is getting back to the historical past. We enjoyed our dinner at Sol Cubano and conversation with the waiter. The food was tasty and we will be back. The Papa rellena was very good, make sure to order an empanada, and the pork was delicious.

Whenever I (or we) crave some frozen yogurt this is the place we go to. It is local, friendly and very supportive of the community in which it is housed. They give back to schools, families, sporting activities. They are also a great place to purchase gift cards for any occasion. I have bought certificates for birthdays, get wells, thank you's and even slipped one into a Congrats on your wedding card. Feel free to sample if you are curious about a flavor. Then swirl to your hearts content.

Excellent little mom and pop. Very good food. Large menu. Reasonable prices. They will make anything mild, medium or hot. Hot is very hot.

The atmosphere is typical pub/sports bar. There are booths, high and low tables, wide screen TVs and game machines. Place an order and your selection is delivered to the table. My friend and I had mini pizzas. Mine was vegetarian with mushrooms, artichokes and olives. The uncooked slices of tomato on top were "out of place" The crust was perfect. My friend had the luncheon special, a mini with two toppings, salad bar and a drink. Beer and wine are also available.

Located at the Lions Gate was very convenient. Great place to relax after a long day of training. Good selection of beer, food was good and service was great. Very friendly servers.

Old time waffle joint. Much like you see along the highways in the south. The food was good and the portions were large. Really good country potatoes too. Lots of locals. Everyone seems to know each other. It was fun.

This is one of my favorites to stop by for some good Mexican "fast food". Portions are reasonable and the pics on the wall make it super fast and easy to pick your meal.
I usually judge the quality of the place by the number of cars in the parking lot around meal times. I've been there as late as 2 pm and noticed the place is still busy; weekends it is busy all the time. It is probably not the best place to take a date to for that all important first impression but then again it was never advertised as that either. The atmosphere is very spartan inside, I prefer to sit outside at the picnic tables and enjoy the moment, weather permitting.
Like I said, think of it as Mexican fast food, tasty and enjoyable. There are 10 locations in California, (6) six of which are in the greater Sacramento area.

We have a winner! In an era where too few Chinese restaurants actually have Chinese cooks, this place stands out. The portions are enormous - scary enormous. The pork appetizer was at least a pound of BBQ pork! Sure the place is in a crummy part of town, frequented by losers of all sorts, but these enterprising folks are serving up a Hole in the Wall style meal. Nothing fancy, but the food is honest and rich, and the service concerned, helpful, and earnest. If you like Chinese, go to this restaurant!
